FCSO: Man shot by deputy responding to report of protective order violation

Patrick Kernan, The Frederick News-Post, Md.
A Knoxville man was shot by a Frederick County Sheriff’s Deputy Friday evening as deputies responded to a report that he was violating a domestic violence protective order, only hours after it was served to him, the sheriff’s office says.

Jacob Christian Wilford, 22, is currently receiving treatment at R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma in Baltimore after being shot in the arm Friday evening, according to a news release from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.

Wilford, the release said, had been served a domestic violence protective order by sheriff’s deputies earlier in the evening, which dictated that he was not to be on a property located in the 300 block of East Mountain Road in Knoxville. The order also said Wilford was not to “abuse or threaten to abuse” the occupants of the residence, the release said.

The sheriff’s office said in the release that dispatchers received a call at around 11:15 p.m. Friday saying Wilford had arrived on the property in violation of the order. Deputies responded to the scene, where according to the release, they found Wilford hiding behind a shed on the property.

When deputies ordered Wilford to come out, the release said he “assaulted the deputies by hurling a projectile at him.” The release did not identify the nature of the projectile.

Alleged robber shot in mouth by victim’s father

By Ken Park
A Sequim man attempting to rob a motorhome resident was shot in the mouth by the father of his would-be victim.

Mason Archer-Barrett, 27, was expected to be charged with first-degree attempted robbery after he was released from Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

A hospital spokesperson said March 10 that Archer-Barrett was in satisfactory condition and on March 13 that he was not named on the patient census.

The attempted robbery occurred in the early morning hours of March 5 at a motorhome parked off the 2400 block of U.S. Highway 101, Port Angeles police said.

Archer-Barrett pointed a gun at the motorhome resident, saying he had no intention of hurting anyone but that he wanted cash as he was collecting a debt from the man, according to the probable cause statement by the Port Angeles Police Department.

The man refused to hand over any money, according to a police report; believing his life was in danger, the Sequim man’s father shot Archer-Barrett in the mouth.

Nice Hondo, You stole the words out of my mouth.

Gives new meaning to “shooting off your mouth”. Did dear old dad use that UTM9 on him?
Shot in the mouth. Gonna make it difficult for the dude to speak in his own defense at trial. Or maybe he’ll hire a mouthpiece to do it for him.
And once he ends up in the pokey, welllllll……. I’m gonna guess that he won’t be “employee of the mouth………errrrrr……..month” at the BTJT Prison Deli, Home of the All You Can Eat Man Meat Sammich (y’all can fill in the rest)
I’m surprised Mr Archer-Barrett didn’t use a Barrett to try to hold up his intended victim at a distance. But nooooooo, he had to get up close and personal. And from the results, TOO close, allowing Daddy to shoot back.

“Shot through the mouth
But it’s too late
You give love a bad name (bad name)….”

Shouldn’t that last line read

“You can’t say your own name (own name) . . . .”

Good one! I knew there was another revision, but it was oh-dark-too-damed-early, and my caffeine levels were low.

Tallywhagger

he was not to be on a property located in the 300 block of East Mountain Road in Knoxville.

To be honest, I believe East Mountain Road is actually in Frederick. Albeit, there is no shortage of mountain roads in the Knoxville area–great fun on motorcycles.

KoB

Only time a piece of paper can give any protection is when it is used between a powder charge and a lead projectile. And iffen you gonna throw a projectile at someone, make sure that it can travel at 100s of FPS.

Nutjob or suicide by cop? Lawsuit from family members in 5.4.3..

“…collecting a debt…” I knew something was methed up about that story.

Sounds like that UTM 9 was built with spare parts from the arms room. “…Prison Pink…” Lawd halp!

Not sure if our “state” can get more corrupt.
But then again, the “state” may take that as a challenge.

Graybeard

IMHO, KoB, a protective order is a great thing – to present in court after one has made the violator DRT.
It protects one from over-zealous prosecuting attorneys saying one was unjustified in using lethal force.

Fit an AR style buttstock onto that UTAS and you’re eligible for a five year Federal vacation. To paraphrase, to me,as a pistol it’s too much and as a rifle it’s not enough. But there are those who will like it.

David

The article omitted that part… and if you fail to do all the SBR tax stamp/etc. paperwork, you can be in a buttload of trouble. You, my friend, do not have Bidenimmununity to blow off ATF regs with impunity. Gotta be connected for that.

Not a Feel Good Story…Don’t know where to post this.

Gateway Pundit has been accused of providing inncorrect, fake news.

Folks…IS this fake? The video is in the article.

I found a more detailed l, heartbreaking version of the video, but decided not to post it…

Am in disbelief with mixed emotions…

Yet again I will issue the warning, the causes are not important but the effects will be inescapable.

“The first casualty of war is the truth.” Mixed emotions? Yeah, copy that ninja. I’d say the only way to NOT be accused of abusing prisoners is to NOT take any prisoners. Hey, that worked for Santa Ana…twice. I’m not there, so like most of us, what and who do we believe? The propaganda machines are working overtime for both sides. We like to think that an honorable soldier, once an honorable foe is vanquished, and no longer a threat, would treat the prisoner in a humane fashion. Welp, history is replete with examples of that NOT happening. With the history of Red Army atrocities, and the Ukes having been under that heel for decades, and not wanting to go back to that, it is understandable that they would fight tooth and nail to defend their homeland. Maybe some of the alleged mistreatment of prisoners is a payback for Katyn Forest…and it is being done by Secret Squirrel Poles?

rgr769

When you loose the dogs of war, atrocities happen, usually on both sides. In the history warfare, there has never been a shortage of robbery, rape, torture, and murder, even on non-combatants. We have been the one of the few countries has endeavored to refrain from such conduct, yet we still had My Lai.

poetrooper

There was a ROK Marine brigade whose AO was adjacent to ours so that there was always some overlap. When we patrolled into villages where they had previously been, the evidence of their cruelty and brutality was quite evident.

Odie

Gateway pundit? Marine dad will be along shortly to call it fake news and to Google it instead.

My sincere apologies to Aw1Ed for stealing this thread…and much appreciation to Roh-Dog, KoB and Odie for comments.

The more detailed video that I chose not to post is so heartbreaking. Still wondering if the video is real…and are both sides using it for propoganda purposes?

Been drummed in my head since the day I raised my right hand (as a Private in the US Army) and down the road the treatment of EPWs. Am aware of what actually took place (real life) in all major Conflicts going back to the beginning of time. As a Historian, have been called a “traitor” to our Country by some when I shared with others that “Our Side” was not exactly innocent when it came to treatment of EPWs.

There are some that live in an Alternate Reality World that only the “Bad Guys” do “imhumane things” to EPWs…and that the “Good Guys” never act in such a manner…

Will say it again. Am sick and tired of the US being the Policemen of the World.

Well,
I mean, at least they didn’t *PEE* on them….(Right R. Kelly??…drip, drip…)
I mean, THAT would be BAD!!

I’m sad that these things happen, but on the other hand, after hearing my aunt talk about how some of the Russians acted when they came into Berlin, I can understand how some folks would want to get some payback.

Unfortunately, “payback” is rarely extracted from the actual perpetrators of atrocities, and a vengeance cycle is started.

Fortunately for my aunt and her mother, another Russian officer protected them.
