Knightdale Boulevard shooting was self-defense, Wake Sheriff’s Office says

The suspect in a Nov. 22 shooting acted in self-defense and will not be charged, the Wake County Sheriff’s Office said Friday. The shooting took place on Knightdale Boulevard near Old Milburnie Road in Raleigh, The News & Observer previously reported. One person, Corey Hansen, was killed. He was 39 years old.Witnesses reported seeing a car crash and a physical altercation between two men before Hansen was shot, the Sheriff’s Office said. After consulting with the Wake County District Attorney’s Office, the incident was determined to be an act of self-defense.
