One man wounded in officer-involved shooting at near Fresno High. What police know
Anthony Galaviz
Two Fresno police officers “returned fire” early Sunday following an hours-long confrontation with a man in an apartment near the Fresno High area, a police department official reported. The incident started just after 2 a.m. when residents of a small apartment complex in the 500 block of East Weldon Avenue heard gunfire and discovered a bullet hole in the wall of a bedroom where two children, ages 2 and 4, were sleeping, Lt. Bill Dooley said in an interview at the scene.
Police identified a neighbor as the shooter. Officers escorted the family of four to safety and quickly surrounded the apartment.
The neighbor, identified only as a 48-year-old man, came out of his home but refused to cooperate with police and went back inside. He spoke with a police negotiator but was described by Dooley as confrontational and “challenging” toward the officers.

Thanks again to our own Gun Bunny for the links. Standing by for heavy seas vis-a-vis today’s gun pR0n. For the record, I don’t post up polymer guns just to invoke Gun Bunny’s ire. It’s more of a happy by-product.
‘All he saw were guns’: Sergeant recovering, 3 teens in custody after Columbus shootout
Tim Chitwood
A veteran Muscogee County sheriff’s sergeant is home with a bullet in his arm, and three teenagers are in jail after a shootout Saturday that also wounded two suspects, city leaders said during a news conference Sunday.Sgt. Jeremy Hattaway shot back at the three teens after they opened fire on him when he caught up with the vehicle they were in, which had been reported stolen, Sheriff Greg Countryman said. Hattaway reported that when he cornered the suspects at Andrews Road and East Central Street, they started shooting, the sheriff said.
“He said that all he saw were guns coming out of the windows,” Countryman said.

The essence of constitutionalism in a democracy is not merely to shape and condition the nature of majorities, but also to stipulate that certain things are impermissible, no matter how large and fervent a majority might want them. — George Will

First.
Tinted out windows are for more than just blocking sunlight. As I profile each vehicle/person, that I encounter; seeing dark tinted windows, on a car with a different color hood than the rest of it, with a “donut” tire on one rear wheel, driven by a ratty haired woman while the guy rides, slouched, pretty much IDs that vehicle as potential trouble.
Or no hubcaps and a door with a different color
Challenging? In Massachusetts they just invoke “marked lane violation” as their catch-all premise for traffic stops. Seems to work pretty well, too.
You can always tell when there is a new hire in the police department in this lily-white New England “community” as the number of traffic stops goes way up, particularly for license plate lights, headlights or similar safety items.
In the culturally diverse community of Gloucester, the PoPo cruise the parking lots at grocery stores and shopping areas with license plate scanners.
Unsurprisingly, the local towing business is a regular beneficiary. Ah well, some folks just will not comply with insurance and registration requirements without motivation.
On the uptick, I cannot recall any incident involving the discharge of a firearm in years. Albeit, one fellow was arrested and had his car impounded last week. It was discovered that he had ammunition in his vehicle and he was NOT authorized to possess ammo.
“not authorized” – you need to move to a free country, hoss.
Convicted felons cannot have firearms or ammunition in their possession.
Move out of any place where “possession of criminal tools” (wearing shoes while committing misdemeanor jaywalking or a moving violation) is the catch-all felony for taking peoples’ guns upon being charged.
Yup, it is federal law, applicable in every state. But in Shotcago, the gang bangers usually get a pass on this offense.
Socialists love to abuse and punish the compliant and law abiding citizens.
Gets ’em off…
A trifecta of WRTs and a few more that have lodgings in the Gray Bar Motel, albeit probably not for long. After all they were gud bois that just needed a ride to choir practice. Columbustan ’bout as bad as Fayettenam, if not worse.
The BoR is not to give us permission to do certain things, it limits the grubermint in what it can do.
“…a happy by product”. *sigh* Drop dead lovely Sunday Gunz Girl is always followed by a plasticized abomination. Plastic is good for Tupperware and Solo Cups! “…one way to lower costs…” The sweetness of low price is gone long before the bitterness of poor quality sets in. “…use a fine grit sandpaper to smooth out…” DaHell? “…polymer tip bullets jammed, whereas the full METAL jacket didn’t”. Need I say more? His Most Saintly, JMB (HBHN), weeps. I think I’ll go give my Formerly NIB Kimber 1911 Model Custom LW a hug.
I see another “School Shooting “ added to Anytown for gun
ignorancesafety’s list. The area around Fresno High School is very sketchy, the school is pretty much gang central. Fresno used to be a great place to live, not so much anymore.
Hey, Russia says it’ll stop the war if Ukraine:
1. Stops fighting.
2. Goes neutral in its constitution.
3. Says Crimea is Russky territory.
4. Recognizes Donetsk and Lugansk as independent.

You forgot one. Putin says the entire country has to be disarmed. I suspect he means their military must be disbanded and all those AK’s confiscated.
