Interesting If True
Multiple news sources are reporting that Ukrainian forces have eliminated a Chechen hit squad sent by Russia to assassinate Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. At least some of those sources are also reporting that Ukrainian forces have an alleged second Chechen hit squad under surveillance.
That in itself is not a great surprise. However, those same sources are reporting that the plot was foiled due to a tip from a source that is rather shocking: the FSB.
For multiple sources reporting the above, perform an Internet search using the search terms “FSB tipped Ukraine assassination plot” (no quotes, of course).
For those who don’t recognize the acronym, the FSB is the Russian successor to the KGB.
If true, this is indeed . . . an interesting development.

Does Vladimir Putin have someone second in command who is just as clean, bright and articulate as Kamala Harris?
Absolutely not, or he would not be alive. Oh wait, I’m sorry, I thought you said “like Hillary”.
Mike Madigan, former Illinois house speaker is available. But he better act quick before Madigan goes to jail.
Looks like the checks didn’t check their 6. I wonder if they were getting layed, relayed and parlayed at the time of their demise. Always watch your six and dicks.
I’m fairly skeptical. Sure, we’ve seen parts of the Russian military be sympathetic to the Ukrainians, and surely that extends to parts of their security services, too.
But if you have a source providing you intelligence on hit squads -even Chechen ones- you wouldn’t want to potentially blow it by talking about it. I’m inclined to think it’s more of a gambit to try to hide sources and methods of other players, as well as sow some potential discord or distrust within Russian efforts.
At the end of the day, though, however it happened.. good.
You realize that our government leaks like a colander, right? They’ve already announced that an FSB agent defected.
Keep in mind that the Russians really don’t like the Chechens much at all. The Chechens more likely, being overconfident in their abilities and mad gunning skillz, got slack and were found out. A lot of folks keep undervaluing the abilities of the Ukraine in this thing.
These guys are apparently in the mix also..

So, some or someone in the FSB or apparatchik wasn’t happy with the Chechens loyalty to Putin. What better way to get rid of them than identify them to the Ukrainians? From all accounts, the Chechen warlords are at best rabid dogs, putting them down via proxy serves multiple purposes and infers plausible deniability. Of course, an FSB agent defecting calls into question the plausibility of deniability, if that was the intent. Then again, supplying that kind of intel supports the defector’s position as a defector…which I always question. A traitor, particularly one who is a trained, professional liar, can never be trusted.
I believe this has happened, the real question revolves around the why.
I’d like to believe this, I really would. I’d also like a faucet in my kitchen that dispenses an unlimited amount of free Guinness.

Tar Baby getting more and more sticky, ain’t it Brer Vlad?
Are we still allowed to say “Tar Baby”?

I’m ok with that, but it might be my white privilege talking.

I’m still of the mindset that Ukraine is terminal as the Chechen COIN-OP team is now afield.

That video is an accurate summery of what I’ve been saying, to willfully deaf ears.
Anything that Soro’s and his open society supports should be suspect and looking into Stepan Bandera and the other Nazi-far right groups should cause a hard pause for any U.S involvement.
More bad speak, bring most U.S. Troops home to guard the Great Gulag of the North border and close the southern border and then start Operation Clean Up.

FSB is the Russian successor to the KGB. – article
Hmm…. is someone possibly trying to “undermine” Vlad?
Lots of people from or related to Ukraine persons live in my AO and they are closely watching all of this.
Dunno. But if that’s the case, that also wouldn’t shock me. The Soviet/Russian security services have often been behind-the-scenes kingmakers during the past century. They could be attempting the same again.
Beria used his position as NKVD/KGB chief to attempt to gain power on Stalin’s death (for multiple reasons – not the least of which being the fact that he was hated by most of the rest of the Soviet Politburo – he was not successful). Brezhnev waited until he’d gained the loyalty of the KGB to oust Khrushchev. Andropov of course used the KGB as his leverage to gain power, short-lived though it was. And Putin is a former KGB officer.
However, as others have noted the Soviet/Russian security services have great experience in false-flag and duplicitous operations. They could also be doing this as a way to rid themselves of potential troublesome Chechen future opponents, as dezinformatsya, or to plant a future “mole”.
This could get interesting indeed.
