Florida man leaves bar, then steals car that gets hit by a train and smashes into a house

Talk about a wild ride.

A 38-year-old Florida man is accused of stealing a car after leaving a West Palm Beach-area bar over the weekend, then getting it stuck on railroad tracks where it was hit by a train and sent crashing into a nearby home.

“NO TITLE COULD EXPLAIN THIS CASE, BUT THE DETAILS WILL…WELL, IT’S BEST TO JUST READ ON,” the Martin County Sheriff’s Department began its Facebook posting explaining the situation.

According to cops, Bradford Weitzel claimed he commandeered the ill-fated car “in a good faith effort” so that he could use it to find his own automobile. The Port St. Lucie man reportedly told police that he abandoned the stolen car seconds before the stalled auto was struck by a train. Weitzel then tried to steal a forklift from a nearby fruit stand, which he allegedly damaged in the process.

“In the end, Weitzel said he thought it was best to flag down the responding deputies to let them know he was still looking for his car,” authorities said.

Police say no one was injured in the Saturday morning chaos, but that “the explosive sound of a driverless car smashing into the side of their home was clearly jolting” for the people inside the house.

Weitzel was arrested and charged with Grand Theft and Criminal Mischief. Additional charges are expected, Martin County sheriffs said.

Nun gets year in prison for stealing $835,000 from school for gambling

An 80-year-old nun has been sentenced to one year in federal prison for embezzling more than $800,000 in school funds to support a gambling habit.

Mary Margaret Kreuper pleaded guilty last July to federal wire fraud and money laundering. She got her sentence on Monday, admitting to embezzling donations, tuition and fees from 2008 to 2018 to pay for expenses that included “large gambling expenses incurred at casinos,” the U.S. attorney’s office said.

Kreuper served as the principal of Saint James Catholic School in Torrance for nearly 30 years before she retired.

U.S. District Court Judge Otis D. Wright II also ordered Kreuper to pay back the school approximately $835,000 as restitution, the Long Beach Press-Telegram reported.

“I have sinned, I’ve broken the law and I have no excuses,” Kreuper said via teleconference. “My actions were in violation of my vows, my commandments, the law and, above all, the sacred trust that so many had placed in me. I was wrong and I’m profoundly sorry for the pain and suffering I’ve caused so many people.”

Wisconsin women shot server in the face over missing burger

Two women have been charged for shooting a restaurant employee in the face over a missing hamburger in Wisconsin.

Bryanna Johnson and Breanta Johnson, both 20 and both from Milwaukee, made initial appearances in Milwaukee County court Monday, according to FOX6 News Milwaukee. They are both charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide.

The shooting happened at a George Webb restaurant in Wauwatosa on Jan. 30. According to the criminal complaint, when officers arrived on the scene, they found a 26-year-old man lying on the ground next to the cash register. He had a gunshot wound to the right side of his face.

The women were in a group of four being “impatient and rude,” another restaurant employee told police.

After being asked to leave, one of the women exited the restaurant and then briefly returned. The complaint says the “four women were up by the register” when one woman in a blue hoodie punched the shooting victim. “The other woman pulled out a handgun and fired one round at (the victim) striking him in the face while (the victim) was lying on the ground.”

The victim was able to tell police the altercation happened because the women’s order was missing a hamburger, WISN reported. George Webb officials told FOX6 on Jan. 31 he suffered serious injuries, but was stable and recovering at a hospital.

Surveillance video from the scene shows the incident unfold before the group of women left the restaurant.

Bryanna and Breanta Johnson are charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide. Cash bond is set at $100,000 each, court records show. They are due back in court for preliminary hearings on Feb. 15.

A GoFundMe set up for the injured server has raised nearly $25,000.

Chick-fil-A Order Argument Turns Fatal as Shot Fired in Drive-Thru

n argument over an order in a Chick-fil-A drive thru in Clinton, Mississippi turned deadly after a gun unintentionally discharged in a car Friday night.

The driver of the car, 23-year-old Kendarius Vaughn, was in the drive-thru when he began arguing about the order with a backseat passenger, local television news station WLBT-TV reported.

During the argument, Vaughn allegedly grabbed a handgun and began waving it, holding it toward the roof of the car. He then swung it toward his brother in the back seat.

His brother allegedly grabbed Vaughn’s arm to prevent the gun from being aimed at him, but when he pushed his brother’s arm toward the front seat, the gun accidentally discharged, striking Vaughn.

A passenger in the back seat then jumped into the driver’s seat to drive Vaughn to the hospital where he later died of his injuries. No charges are currently being filed.

Clinton Police Chief Ford Hayman told another local television news station WAPT-TV: “Whatever they were doing in the car, the intended consequence was not for someone to get shot, but we are going through all the evidence. If something in the evidence points us in a different direction then we will come back and charge, but right now it’s unintentional.”

The stupid is definitely strong this week. The Nun has me kind of puzzled, did she gamble online or was she a frequent flier at a casino. Seems she would have tipped someone off if she gambled in person.

The drive in shooting was different. At least the poor person at the window wasn’t injured. Two from fast food is unusual. I hope the shooter from the restaurant does hard time. A missing burger should not be a capital offense.

Odie

It would be interesting to hear their argument in prison why they can’t get burgers like they used to while on the outside.

AZRobert

If the Nun has a drinking problem, maybe A.A. can change her habit….

Rim Shot

Poetrooper

It could also be said that this story lends new meaning to the expession “gambling habit”. 😜

Poetrooper

Or to put it another way, do you suppose she wore her gambling habit to the casinos? 🤔

Green Thumb

Seems weapon proficiency and range time should be mandatory for fast food workers these days.

Green Thumb

An 80 year old woman in prison. Great use of taxpayer dollars.

David

Any alternative suggestions, like “String up the nun!” ?

Poetrooper

“Any alternative suggestions?”

Nun here…

Carlton

The 80 year old woman was convicted of embezzlement. She isn’t above the law, and whether you think her confinement is a “great use of taxpayer dollars” or not has no bearing on sentencing guidelines.

rgr769

To do otherwise might cause a rash of oldster embezzlement.

5JC

Breanta Johnson is using the foolproof “I blacked out” defense right after pistol whipping the clerk for poor service. That always works, especially when there is a video.

Carlton

The whole group of “ladies” was a problem from the moment they entered the establishment.

It will get to the point that more and more places will opt to become takeout only since any attempt to bar entry to troublemakers will be labeled “racist “

Poetrooper

There are very legitimate reasons why most minority neighborhoods are underserved by retail businesses, especially the chains that proliferate in non-minority areas.

Breanna, Breanta, Kendarious and their associates are prime examples…

5JC

In case anyone is feeling pity for the old sister here is the rest of the story…

She knew what she was doing.

KoB

Not only is teh stoopid strong today, the sense of entitlement is overwhelming. “I’m too drunk to find my vehicle, I’ll just “borrow” this one.”

Food to die for? Or food to kill for? People that act like mad animals should be treated like mad animals.

Now we know why we haven’t been disciplined by Sister Mary Margaret lately. ‘stead of dealing out punishment, she’s been dealing out cards. Wonder if a coupla brothers could put a band together, have a concert, and raise some money to pay her debts for her?

Hatchet

Bro, no way. Even if Jake was still alive and Elwood might be willing, the Blues Brothers would NEVER put the Band back together again for this larcenous old bat er, Penguin..
Somewhere on high, the ghost of Kathleen Freeman looks on with wrathful consternation.

Mason, I am pleased to see that you are keeping “Stupid People of the Week” fair and racially balanced, or as the Progs might say “equitable.” Two Caucazoids and two stories with the non-melanin challenged. Keep up the good work.
