tunguska
(Those worried about a Tunguska event occurring any time soon can find solace in the words of NASA engineer Orville Reddenbacher MacGillicuddy who said that “such an event is as unlikely as two original and salient thoughts colliding in the skull of Jon Soltz.”)

From Space.com:

Ever since something generated a huge explosion over Siberia in 1908, flattening an area as big as a large city, scientists have been trying to figure out what caused it.

Among the enduring mysteries: Following the explosion, the night skies shone brightly for several nights across Europe all the way to London, 3,000 miles away.

While there are some wild theories about the Tunguska event — involving a UFO or black hole or a bizarre death ray — astronomers have long known the culprit was either a comet or an asteroid. Based on the lack of a crater, scientists say the object did not smack into the ground, but rather exploded above the surface, the damage being done by the resulting shock wave.

But which type of space rock was it?

New evidence from an unlikely source — water vapor in the exhaust plumes of space shuttles launched a century later — points to a comet.

Kind of an interesting article if you are into Science. I had a roommate in college that was inordinately afraid of comet strikes. For me, I always harbored a secret fascination with Tsunamis.

Tunguska is decidedly interesting. The new data is as well, although the comet theory has been around for a bit.

While you’re at it… check out the Siberian and Deccan traps.

One appears to be responsible in large part for the Permian extinction. 95% of ALL life extinguished.

In a sense there is a powerful relationship to tsunamis.

All the tree-huggers and assorted environmental weenies (ELF, et al) who try to blame the stuff on humans haven’t got a clue… and then some! Ol’ Mother Earth and the cosmos can kick our collective asses any old time. Gaea can be a bitch at times.

I have become a great supporter of this theory:

I’ve been reading their material for a few years now, and I have to say that they make a great deal more sense than many folks do. Their site is worth a bit of time to read and snoop around in.

I think we all know Tunguska was caused by the experiments of Nicolai Tesla (himself one of the immortal overlords of the great Civilization of Atlantis) and not some farsical outer space object. As “outer space” is a well known cover story concocted by governments to direct the public’s attention away from their mind control experiments…people-there is no outer space! Everything with within the crystal cosmic sphere that resonates with the cosmic symphony. Am I the only one who can hear the Music of the Spheres?

Sheesh! You people and your “Science”
