Interesting Development on the Cap and Tax Legislation

| June 25, 2009

Yesterday all the buzz (other than Mark Sanford’s wandering penis) was that the high priest of the cult of Global Warming was going to swoop into town the day before the House vote and magically ensure its passage.

Not so fast there Scooter. Apparently Nancy doesn’t want you.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said as the list of undecided lawmakers narrowed, she thought it was unnecessary to impose on former Vice President Gore’s schedule to travel to Washington when he could instead continue coordinating efforts from Tennessee.

“It was a question of what was energy efficient for the vice president,” Pelosi said at her weekly news conference Thursday, explaining the absence. “We were narrowing the list of the undecided and thought perhaps another occasion we could call upon his time to come here.”

Pelosi added that it was more energy efficient for Gore to continue coordinating efforts from Tennessee.

Senior Democratic sources told FOX News that in addition to the time commitment issue, they thought it was better if Gore worked the phones with targeted lawmakers. Gore is specifically reaching out to more liberal lawmakers who don’t think the bill goes far enough, the sources said.

But speculation is swirling that Gore’s presence would have been radioactive and could have caused more of a problem, a source told FOX News.

Perhaps she thinks Gore is a “toxic Asset”. He’s certainly an ass.

One theory is that Pelosi knows that it isn’t going to pass and she doesn’t want to tarnish the poster boy for this lunacy. I don’t believe this for one second.

Pelosi is a phenomenally stupid woman but she can count votes and she is the sole driving force behind ramming this steaming piece of shit to a floor vote. She is also from the heart of the enviro-wacko world.

My theory. Gore’s been punked and Pelosi is going to steal the environmental banner and march to the head of the cult of unwashed morons.

EVERYONE needs to call their rep’s and say NO to this bill. In other news, Pelosi’s brain could use a catalytic converter.

Here are a couple of good paragraphs to include in your email/phone call:

http://www.heritage.org/Press/Commentary/ed052209b.cfm

“The Heritage Foundation estimates electricity costs rising by 90 percent by 2035, gasoline by 58 percent, and natural gas by 55 percent. A household of four can expect to pay $1,241 more for energy annually by that year. And since higher energy costs raise the price of everything else, the total impact of this energy tax would reach nearly $3,000 per household per year from 2012-2035. Total gross domestic product losses average $383 billion annually from 2012-2035 and would total $9.4 trillion dollars.

High energy costs also kill jobs, especially energy-intensive manufacturing jobs. An estimated 1,145,000 will be lost under this bill. Farming is also energy intensive, and thus would be badly harmed. Heritage estimates lower farm profits by 28 percent in 2012 alone, and 57 percent from 2012-2035.”

Gore isn’t a ‘toxic asset’, he’s a Troubled Asset. That’s how he can qualify for TARP money to pay his huge electric bill.

Scorch

I see now the proponents of this legislation are saying the “average” family will only pay $175 more a year in utilities and that the poor will actually pay less. Just makes you want to roll your eyes with comments like that. They also want to have 50 million more acres of trees planted to use as carbon credits. No problem with that but where is the 50 million acres coming from? I’m sure they wont be ripping up any asphalt jungles so that leaves agriculture land as the target and this is during a prediction of increasing populations around the world and a possibility of increased starvation. Hmmm, guess that’s one way to solve the problem, just starve people to death.
