By reader request from Hack Stone, here’s a bit more on  everyone’s Georgian gap-toothed porker perennial candidate.

The EPA reports that it had $20,000,000,000 to give away. Eight entities controlling a twenty billion taxpayer giveaway, no strings attached (other than presumably some sort of environmental connection.)

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently made a revelation that the Biden administration was allowing just eight entities to distribute $20 billion of taxpayer dollars “at their discretion.”

Included in the funds was a $2 billion grant to Power Forward Communities, a nonprofit with ties to former Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams that seeks to “reduce our impact on the climate” by financing the replacement of household appliances in lower-income communities with green alternatives.

The $2 billion was used for the “decarbonization of homes” in low-income communities and paid for new household appliances, such as water heaters, induction stoves, solar panels, EV chargers, and weatherization, according to an April 2024 press release from Power Forward Communities.

Zeldin told Fox News that in 2023, Power Forward Communities reported just $100 in revenue but was later granted $2 billion by the Biden-era EPA in 2024. Fox News

$100 to $2,000,000,000. If it’s not a record, it should be. Me, I’d like to see some kind of documentation – seems to me you can buy a whole LOT of stoves for that kind of money. I am sure Ms. Abrams, described as a “lynchpin” of the group, would be happy to show where the money went.

And then there is MSNBC. It hasn’t been that long since CNN got told to pay out five million smackers to Zachary Young over its lies“misallegations” during the ill-fated Afghan withdrawal. (According to one jury member, the settlement the jury was discussing was $100,000,000 – guess CNN dodged a $95 million bullet.)

Not wanting to be left out of the party, MSNBC just got done with their own trial. In 2020, MSNBC talking heads Rachel Maddow, Chris Hayes, and Nicole Wallace aired a segment alleging that a Georgia gynecologist, was performing mass hysterectomies on female illegals being held . “Uterus collector” was the repugnant term they used. But… just t’warn’t so.

U.S. District Judge Lisa Godbey Wood ruled in June that “the undisputed evidence establishes that multiple NBC statements are false.”

She found “there were no mass hysterectomies or high numbers of hysterectomies at the facility,” contrary to the allegations from a whistleblower; that Dr. Mahendra Amin, the plaintiff in the case, had performed only two hysterectomies on female detainees; and that he was not a “uterus collector,” in the whistleblower’s memorable phrase.

Judge Wood noted that the network was not protected by the fact that MSNBC’s journalists were relaying what the judge called “verifiably false” statements by others rather than asserting them on their own authority.  NPR

Firm numbers have not been released – Dr. Amin sued for $10 million compensation and $20 million punitive damages – one suspects the final settlement was still 8 digits?

This is the latest in a string of media losses in the last couple of years – Disney had to pay $15,000,000 toward a future Trump Presidential library due to allegations by Bill Clinton’s former press secretary, George Stephanopoulos,  and Meta and X were ordered to pay a combined $35 million for kicking Trump off after the January 6 riot.
