Two Bits To Lighten Your Day

| October 4, 2021

The following is a Youtube video of Biden being booed at a ball game.

It’s very noisy. I just want to warn you about that, so that you won’t fall off your chair in hysterics.

From Sky News Australia:

Does this mean he has no…. oh, never mind.

His popularity seems to be rapidly declining, which does pose the legitimate question: how many who are vocally and loudly scorning that gasbag voted for him in this last election?

At the same time, the Taliban are now complaining about an attack on a mosque, in which 5 people were killed.

This is going on while they are, as usual, engaging in destroying Afghan society with their strictures and harassment. Their opponent is, as always, the Islamic State a/k/a IS.

From the article: IS militants have stepped up attacks against the Taliban since their mid-August takeover, signaling a widening conflict between them.

IS maintains a strong presence in the eastern province of Nangarhar, where it has claimed responsibility for several killings in the provincial capital of Jalalabad.

In late August, an IS suicide bomber targeted American evacuation efforts at Kabul’s international airport. The blast killed 169 Afghans and 13 U.S. service members and was one of the deadliest attacks in the country in years.

Attacks in Kabul have so far been rare, but in recent weeks IS has shown signs it is expanding its footprint beyond the east and closer toward the capital.

On Friday, Taliban fighters raided an IS hideout just north of Kabul in Parwan province. The raid came after an IS roadside bomb wounded four Taliban fighters in the area. – article

It’s true: what goes around really does come around.

Hack Stone posted a link to a Facebook page that he belongs to, and before the page owner deleted, those on the left dismissed as “I’d expect that from NASCAR fans”, because only the unenlightened are dissatisfied with the way that The Biden Administration is systemically destroying America.

    • 5JC says:

Not just baseball. NASCAR, football, boxing just about everywhere there is a crowd the chants are breaking out. While it isn’t very classy I’d say it is solidly First Amendment protected speech.

They are selling “Let’s go Brandon” t-shirts every where. Buys your and represent the best inside joke/meme to hit this year.

First Football Games, now at NASCAR Races, Joke Biteme is reaping what his handlers and his party have sown. As to Asscanistan, I only think that it’s just begun. Without anyone holding them back they’ll just resort to the anarchy they had after the Soviets left and will destroy everything that was given them.

Maybe leaving all that materiel behind wasn’t such a bad thing after all.
Would I be evil for suggesting we re-supply both sides?

  4. MarineDad61 says:

Of course, mainstream media zoomed in and zoned the microphones
on the cheers around the blue dugout.

Worse, front row dugout seat for Pelosi.
Worser, the only boo videos on the Tube of You
are coming from well out in the stands in right field.
Worsest, Biden was just inducted into the
    Congressional Baseball Hall of Fame.

Loose dentures and ballpark peanuts are a really bad combo.

Mental illness is a helluva thing, no one knows when it’s gonna hit them and no one really knows why it hits some people so much harder and worse than others…

Everybody in the world knows at least two people who’ve experienced a similar tragic event but whose recollection of that tragic event is entirely different and processed entirely differently in their heads.

Took a river trip with Kayaks and Canoes as a young man, being young and stupid we went in spring just after the run-off…river was high as hell and faster than ever…the ride was wild…I got dumped at least a half dozen times…one of the best experiences I ever had and I loved it…a friend who was with us on the trip has never kayaked or canoed again since that trip…high, fast moving river water is unsettling to him to this very day and we are into our sixties rather deeply these days…never understood why it bothered him so much and why it still does…two people same experience two different results mentally.

We never suggest someone is weak when they get a brain tumor, but if they get a mental illness we have all sorts of stigma attached to that outcome. Articles like this are a lot of fluff to be sure, but if they help normalize seeking treatment and de-stigmatize that treatment we could probably use more of them.

There’s schizophrenia, depression and, yes, PTSD for war trauma… but that article was snowflakery that presumes hand-holding nobody ever had before.

Of the multitudinous of diseases I was confronted with in my career as a health care professional I found two to be the most frightening and devastating.
Alzheimers or any other kind dementia is horrible because the patient loses everything, mercifully, they don’t seem to realize it.
My worst disease was ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gherig’s Disease. It robbed us of one of the finest men to walk Planet Earth right here, and I watched it take one of my patients over an extended period of time.
When your kids, grandkids or even great grandkids tell you that something isn’t fair, just tell them it isn’t and explain just how badly these things destroy lives.
There is a host of others and the list is long, but as far as diseases to have to deal with, those two are my worst…..
God Bless all the victims of those diseases past, present and future…..

        • UpNorth says:

I witnessed Alzheimer’s destroy my mother, then my wife’s mother. It is, indeed, a horrible disease.

        • Bill R. says:

I’m not a health care professional but I watched my wife fade away over a period of about ten years. She began with a diagnosis of lung cancer. She survived that but I believe the chemo and radiation contributed highly toward her final killer. Although I had help, I was her primary caregiver during those years. Knowing what was coming was very hard on my psyche.

        • OWB says:

Watched my father succumb to Alz. It was a horrid experience for all of us. During his decreasing moments of clarity over the years, it was obvious that he was aware of the decline, perhaps only for a few seconds, but aware. It was during those few moments I felt the most helpless and perhaps also the most fulfilled. He knew I was there and you could see him relax a bit from the terror of realization.

Needless to say, those were some of the most precious experiences of my life.

  6. Veritas Omnia Vincit says:

Yeah, I’m actually not going to feel bad about any of this.
