Florida deputy wounded, suspect killed during traffic stop, sheriff says
The wounded officer is expected to make a full recovery, according to the Brevard County Sheriff.

WEST MELBOURNE — A Florida deputy was wounded, and the man who shot him was killed during a traffic stop Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The confrontation occurred around 1 p.m. on a West Melbourne street near Interstate 95, Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said in a video posted on Facebook. The wounded deputy was expected to make a full recovery.

A deputy pulled over a vehicle with three occupants and a two-month-old baby inside and was quickly joined by a second deputy, Ivey said. After a passenger in the back seat was asked the exit the vehicle, he pulled out a short-stock rifle and opened fire, striking one of the deputies in the leg, the sheriff said.

Both deputies returned fire, Ivey said. The man eventually ran over to one of the deputies and began to hit him with the butt of the rifle. The other deputy fired multiple times at the man, killing him.

Armed Decatur homeowner captures burglary and hit and run suspect at gunpoint

Tony Reid
An armed Decatur homeowner held a burglary and hit-and-run suspect at gunpoint after he caught the fleeing man trying to break into his home, police report.

A sworn affidavit from Decatur police said the homeowner cornered the 30-year-old suspect around 7 a.m. Friday as the man was trying to force his way into the house in the 2200 block of North Main Street through a window.

“(The homeowner) advised he held (the man) at gunpoint until officers arrived,” said Officer Brian Allison.

Police said the man had earlier fled from committing a burglary at South End Auto Plex, 1215 E. Prairie Ave. He had stolen a pickup truck from the business and then been involved in a severe vehicle collision at North Water Street and East Garfield Avenue, the force of the crash causing a victim in another vehicle to sustain a broken neck, according to police.

Sounds like Florida Man’s anger issues are solved…..permanently.

Darn shame, he was turning his life around.

Yep. He was turning around…..with each shot from the officer’s gun. That is, until he wasn’t.

AW1 Rod

Why…why…WHY didn’t the Brevard County deputies first call Lebron, to ask for his advice???

Two more dirtbags taking a break from being a threat to decent folk. One of them for good. BZ to the Citizen.

“Play nice.”

Ok, ok, I’ll play nice with SPAPOS.
But just know that my idea of “play nice w/SPAPOS” is burying him up to his knees……head first.

Naw, Tox, Play Nice with one another. Last time I had to leave, I made mention of “Behave” and there was a lot of head scratching going on.

Spapos needs to go play Blind Man’s Bluff…in a minefield.

Wasn’t sure which Decatur it was until I started reading all the street names…sounded too familiar. Like Tom Hanks singing about it in Bachelor Party!!

Was expecting the Decatur homeowner to be booked on gun possession, forgot they can now defend themselves with permission.
