He didn’t get the fatal hot lead injection from a protective order.

You would think that an Order Of Protection would be enough to keep a mentally unstable ex-significant other from assaulting you. Adios, Andre.

MI Ranger

Good thing she had that Protection Order…otherwise the Police would never believe he was assaulting her!

2 less scumbags wondering this great land? I’ll take it!
Not usually a fan of wheel guns but dayum! She’s a looker.
Went to the LGS to pick up a little thing* and saw a Colt New Police in .32, took a strong bout of will to not take’r home.
Reminds me of a joke:
Q: How many guns you got?
A: One less than a divorce.
Stack them deep, my friends!

FWIW, Roh, Shooting Illustrated print edition has a nice little blurb on various add-ons that work on the Mossy 500, 590, and a couple even on the Mav88.
I’m looking strongly at the sling-attachment/rail segment. The shell holder’s tempting, but I used my leatherworking skilz from YMCA summer camp all those decades ago and made my own.

GB, Thanks for the SI notice, I’m gonna have to track a copy down. I have a GG&G 6-shot side saddle and it is NICE! Many cheaper option are plastic and tend to wear out over time, especially if left filled up. The GG&G is T6 al-you-minimum with a rubber retainer inside.
I can not recommend it more…
One installation note, you have to replace the ejector screw (?) which per the instructions needs to be:
1) tightened, but not so much it interferes with the action
2) thread locked with the appropriate grade of adhesive
(Don’t ask me how I know…)

Optics Planet has them for $87, or $16/ounce. ..

Shoulda took ‘er home. Am coveting that little Sweet Thang .32 my own self. Have long coveted the M1917. Saw and fired several of them that were “…excess to the needs and/or not authorized under the current TO&E of the Service.” Fine shooting iron. Coupla things about wheel guns you can count on. They generally work…every time you pull the trigger. And the don’t spew evidence brass all over the scene. Heh heh

BZ to the citizens that fought back and removed the oxygen thieves from society. Coupla lessons re-emphasized here. (a) Don’t phuque with old folks…they too old to fight and too tired to run and a potential life sentence is no deterrent. They will shoot yo azz. (b) Dude when she says she’s just not that into you anymore, take her word for it…’specially when she got a paper saying she ain’t into you no mo’.

“brass all over the scene”
At least with moon clips you can police them up by three’s.

Stagger Lee told Billy please don’t take my life, I’ve got three little children and a very sickly wife.

You folks can laugh about wheel guns all you want. Once upon a time upcountry in a place that rhymes with mouse, we had few choices on hand armaments. A .45 or a M&P .38 was about it unless you wanted to tote a G3, Swedish K or a Thompson. I had my sister send me a S&W M 19-4 .357 w/ 500 rds of 158gr. JHP. She bought it at what was probably the last gun shop in San Francisco in ’70. It never jammed-no stovepipes, no dirt gumming it up, no safety. As for accuracy from 150 feet up in an O-1, it couldn’t be beat. 9mms are designed to teach your girlfriend how to shoot. They didn’t have any knockdown power back then and still don’t. A pilot friend offered me $200 for it when I left. No dice. I still have it.

Nod,
I don’t believe anyone was throwing shade at revolving types. The lot here tend to be very tolerant of freedom-dispensers of all stripe and the folks that tote ’em.

Any individual brave enough to push stick on a Bird Dog will fit in here quite well.

Thank you for your service, welcome aboard, and Welcome Home.

When I was but 3 or 4 (69-71) and we were living in a trailer park outside of Sheppard AFB Texas, where dad was stationed after Vietnam, someone broke into the trailer.

Dad heard him, snuck down the hall peeked around the corner, took a breath and popped out and fired 2 quick shots.

Both shots hit the intruder, the shots entered around the left and right nipples. Dad had shot him with a 44 Magnum.

During the investigation, the Sheriff when he found out what my dad shot him with. Remarked “Damn, Son you done killed him twice”.

Asked if my dad knew him, seen him, etc, dad says no sir. Case closed right there on the scene. Justifiable Homicide, dad never heard another word.

Not long afterwards I got a little brother, we PCSed to Munich Germany and life went on.

Graybeard

Good on your Dad.

Personally, .45 Mag is a bit much for me. I stop at .357 Mag.
