LONG BEACH (CNS) – Authorities determined that a man who shot and killed a 17-year-old alleged robber in Long Beach last month did so in defense of a victim, it was announced today.
Officers arrived at the scene of the shooting and found a mortally wounded Guillermo Mayorga III, of Riverdale, Georgia, in a hotel parking lot in the 3600 block of Santa Fe Avenue about 11:20 p.m. on May 28, according to coroner’s Lt. David Smith and the Long Beach Police Department. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mayorga had an unidentified accomplice who was also wounded by the gunfire.
The robbery victim, described as a male, was found in a hotel room with a gunshot wound to his upper body, police said. Paramedics took him to a hospital with stable vital signs.
A preliminary investigation revealed Mayorga attacked his victim in the parking lot while his accomplice joined in the robbery, police said. Mayorga fired multiple rounds from a handgun, striking the robbery victim and his accomplice, who fled on foot.
The fight continued between Mayorga and the robbery victim until a third person — described only as a man — became involved and shot Mayorga, police said. That man then fled the scene.

Police rule the shooting justified, but that won’t stop The District Attorney from pursuing charges. You can’t have people defending themselves from individuals who are just looking to redistribute income.
So, so far, the Mystery Shooter still remains unknown.
Being a proponent of The Four Esses, I call that A Good Thing.
Police are only saying that the “vigilante” is an architect from New York City.
Well played!
That K6 in .357 is to small a caliber to be confident of a one shot kill.
For just another half inch you can have an Alaskan in 454.
Be confident:

Hide-a-way Howitzers…Gotta love ’em. And who wouldn’t like for their “gun” to be at least a half an inch longer…AND of a larger caliber.
Found this linky in re the “…he was a good kid…” Mayorga. They caught his alleged accomplice. And yep, an obit notice did say the good kid part and an alluding was made that HE was the target of an attempted robbery and assault.

Need to check Evan Marshall’s stats, .357 had the HIGHEST one-shot stop percentage of any round for decades…and controllability is also a major factor. Unless you are the Hulk, second round capability with that Alaskan is damn near measured in minutes.
The Alaskan was designed for that rare moment when your
rifle misfires and the Bear is on top of you.
You have one chance….
No argument that when a bigass pissed bear is on top of you that the biggest thing you can lay your hands on is still not enough. But in a real-world man-on-man situation, the more rounds the better. Most people get tired of being shot and give up after the second or third slid hit. No need to delay followup rounds pulling the gun down from vertical!
