AOC’s Tia Blames PR Officials for Mishandling of Post Hurricane Aid
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)
AOC managed to beclown herself once again, this time accusing the Trump Administration cutting aid to Puerto Rico after the 2017 hurricane Maria.
“Just over a week ago, my abuela fell ill,” Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) began. “I went to Puerto Rico to see her- my 1st time in a year+ bc of COVID.
“This is her home,” the congresswoman added, posting a picture of a dwelling with a damaged roof, little dresser, and no bedding. “Hurricane María relief hasn’t arrived. Trump blocked relief $ for PR. People are being forced to flee ancestral homes, & developers are taking them.”
The problem is a bit closer to home.
People in a southern Puerto Rico city discovered a warehouse filled with water, cots and other unused emergency supplies sent as aid for the hurricane damage. Anger spread in the U.S. territory after a Facebook video of the event;
Gov. Wanda Vázquez quickly fired the director of the island’s emergency management.
Oops. Seems the aid had arrived and was promptly mishandled by the corrupt officials that run the island.
AOC’s aunt says blame Puerto Rico pols, not Trump, for ‘abuela’ misery: report
Puerto Rico received hurricane relief funding but it hasn’t reached all the people who need help, an aunt of a New York congresswoman claims, according to a report
By Dom Calicchio
If the grandmother of U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has suffered in Puerto Rico since Hurricane Maria in 2017, then Puerto Rican politicians are to blame, not former President Trump.
That’s the assessment of an aunt of the New York Democrat, who was interviewed in Puerto Rico by Britain’s Daily Mail.
Ocasio-Cortez made headlines earlier this month after posting photos from the Puerto Rico home of her 81-year-old grandmother, or “abuela,” Clotilde Rivera, and claiming that the residence remained in disrepair, nearly four years after the hurricane, in part because “Trump blocked relief $ for PR.”
But when a Daily Mail reporter visited Rivera’s home this week, a woman there who claimed to be AOC’s aunt said the congresswoman’s story wasn’t accurate.
The aunt noted that the Category 5 hurricane caused extensive damage to the island – but insisted Trump wasn’t to blame for residents struggling to receive aid.
“It’s a problem here in Puerto Rico with the administration and the distribution of help,” the aunt told the Daily Mail. “It is not a problem with Washington. We had the assistance and it didn’t get to the people.”
After Ocasio-Cortez’s June 2 posts on Twitter, conservative commentator Matt Walsh fired back at the congresswoman, saying it was “Shameful that you live in luxury while allowing your own grandmother to suffer in these squalid conditions.”
Walsh later raised more than $100,000 for Ocasio-Cortez’s grandmother until the online campaign was ended – but the congresswoman’s family declined to accept the assistance.
The Go-Fund-Me for AOC’s grandmother was a brilliant move.

Can I send a blue plastic tarp to help out?
I keep several on standby.
Sapper, a blue plastic tarp would be just the thing to help out Also Old Cotex…’specially if she was wrapped up in it and it was sealed with duct tape. Wonder how many billions of US Taxpayer dollars have been squandered in PR ever since that place became an albatross to us. Might of been worthwhile when we had base facilities there. I don’t think the corruption that is in that sh&t hole started under Trump’s watch.
Skrunt!
Was it “The Reverend” Al Sharpton or “The Reverend” Jesse Jackson who led the protests to closing the US Navy bombing range in Puerto Rico? The big guys and girls in DC listened, and closed the range. No range, no need for Roosevelt Roads, close the Base. Local residents lost their jobs and the money pumped into the local economy. And of course, if the Base was still open, there would be all of those GI’s readily available to assist in disaster relief. Hack would also like to point out that having the US Military around gave federal oversight to the local politicians to keep their corruption a bit more subtle.
I wonder if All-Points Logistics had anything to do with the contract?
I could see Phildo skimming off the top.

Yup.
Justified looting…
That’s just one warehouse. No doubt the rest has disappeared from others, with the aid of corrupt officials and their local street gangs.
AWW GE WHIZ, y’all mean it ain’t Trump’s fault? I’m certain that AOC’s Grandmother made it just fine thanks to her family connections and AOC made all that shit up using her grandmother for political gain.
Orange Man didn’t damn PR to oblivion? I’m shocked. /sarc
Bring back Mini AOC.
LOL
That shit is funny.
And that’s why the “tolerant left progressives” threatened her and her family. You cannot ridicule the protected class.
But Hack! Laughter is medicine…
To paraphrase Nixon in the 1980 film ‘Where the Buffalo Roam’ – Fuck the Protected…
Surely this financially stable and possibly semi-wealthy Congress-person could simply pay for Grandma’s repairs herself and shame the Gov’t accordingly by presenting them with the bill? Nah… Guess she’d rather beak-off and make herself look twice as inept….
Hey AOC, I was paying Mom’s mortgage as a PFC.
What the fuck is wrong with you?
At least the Puerto Rican gramma had some class and stated both the truth and the obvious – that the socialist dem government officials of PR were the ones who totally screwed up that situation. For most of them it was intentional too.
Yep.
Yo, Diogenes – we found one for ya. (smile)
