National Guard leaders are looking forward to end involvement in WDC’s business as well as leaving the border patrols behind.

From the article:  National Guard leaders expect their mission on Capitol Hill to end this month and expect their deployment on the southern U.S. border to wrap up in September, potentially lessening the grueling operations tempo for the force in recent years.

In testimony before the Senate Appropriations Committee on Tuesday, National Guard Bureau Chief Gen. Daniel Hokanson said the 2,300 troops currently providing security to the halls of Congress are scheduled to end that mission on May 23 and “we are not aware of any requirement beyond that.”

The number of guardsmen on Capitol Hill swelled to nearly 26,000 troops in the days after the Jan. 6 violent attack on Congress and before the Jan. 20 inauguration of President Joe Biden.

Hokanson said currently deployed troops won’t remain in place in Washington while that debate unfolds in coming weeks.

“Our folks will all go home,” he said.

Similarly, about 3,500 Guard troops stationed on the U.S. southern border supporting Department of Homeland Security activities are expected to wrap up their tours by the end of September. DHS officials have requested an extension of that mission, but Hokanson said that need may be filled by active-duty forces or other units.   – article

It appears the media won’t let this go until the Guard have completely left the AO.

There will be some manufactured crisis that will require Congress critters to scream for the troops to remain in WDC. Leaving May 23rd? One week before Memorial Day? One week before the re-tooled, re-named, re-worked Rolling Thunder that has been denied permits to use the Pentagon, and lots of those folks are pretty upset. “Those folks” just happen to be rabidly patriotic and overwhelmingly not fans of the current administration. Hence, “we need protection!”

I love how they keep calling 1/6 a “violent attack” when all of the violent attackers were Capitol Police officers. Kinda like how they keep saying “insurrection” when most, if not all, of the citizens present are gun owners, yet they all showed up unarmed.

IDK about that, that dude with the hockey stick looked pretty violent to me. The retired fire fighter flinging fire extinguishers, flag pole guy, fence post guy, those wielding lead pipes, it goes on and on. These are all deadly weapons in case you are wondering.

Officers lost eyes, fingers, had TBI’s, were comatose from injuries. 138 officers were injured with 15 hospitalized.

The only civilian killed by the police was within steps of the VP. She may not have known that but you have to ask the question; “What did you think was going to happen?”

5JC –
I’d really like to see some sourcing on those claims, particularly the specifics of the “138 officers were injured with 15 hospitalized”.

To be clear, I am a huge Back the Blue supporter. I have also witnessed, first hand, up-close and personal, “peaceful protests” while merely going about my business.

National Guard Troops should be training to fulfill their Primary Mission. Which is, acting as Round Out Brigades for when the sh%t gets real. NOT babysitting a buncha scared “elites” that already have a plethora of taxpayer funded babysitters already.

And if they’re on the border, they should be in an overwatch position bringing fire down on invading illegals.

The NG troops seemed to mostly just police up litter left behind by the invading masses.
