Woke-ism in the military. Part deux.

| March 28, 2021

What are the “extremists” threatening national security by their infiltration to the military? According to Politico, the above photo is a representation of those people.

From Politico;

‘Be aware’: The Pentagon’s target list for extremist infiltrators — right and left

Flags from the left-wing Antifa movement. Depictions of Pepe the Frog, the cartoon character that’s been misappropriated by racist groups. Iconography from the far-right Proud Boys, including the phrase “stand back and stand by” from former President Donald Trump.

They are all signs that extremists could be infiltrating the military, according to internal training materials that offer a more detailed view into the array of radical groups and ideologies the Pentagon is trying to keep out of the ranks.

“There are members of the [Department of Defense] who belong to extremist groups or actively participate in efforts to further extremist ideologies,” states a 17-page briefing obtained by POLITICO that was compiled by the DoD Insider Threat Management and Analysis Center, which is part of the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency.

“Be aware of symbols of far right, far left, Islamist or single issue ideologies,” it warns, stressing that members of the military and civilian personnel have “a duty and responsibility” to report extremist behavior or activity.

The materials were prepared as part of a broader Pentagon effort to crack down on extremists who may be lurking inside the military after dozens of ex-service members were arrested for their roles in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol to stop the certification of the presidential election.

The prevalence of extremists in the Defense Department appears to be small. For example, the 222,000-strong Marine Corps recently reported that it kicked out four members last year for extremist activity.

They link to a copy of the DARPA slideshow used during their stand down. Which you can read through here. You might wonder just where DARPA got the source material. Politico asked.

Jared Adams, a spokesperson for DARPA, explained in an email that “our training module was copied verbatim from the material provided by the DOD Insider Threat Management & Analysis Center of the Defense Counter Intelligence and Security Agency.

“We did not add any symbols and used all the imagery provided,” Adams said.

On page one the three types of extremism includes “‘Patriot’ Extremism”, “Anarchist Extermism”, and “Ethnic/Racial Extremism”. The latter they say, “While the vast majority of these groups hold white supremacist views…”

As you can see, the “OK” hand gesture and Pepe the Frog are both signs someone might be a violent extremist. They’re literally lumped in with Nazis and ISIS.

They also include the Come and Take It flag. That saying dates back to the Battle of Thermopylae. King Leonidas in 480BC sent the message “Molon Labe”  (come and take it [them]) as a message of defiance to the invading Persians. Those racist Greeks.

The “Come and Take It” message was also used during the American Revolution and perhaps most famously the Texas Revolution when the above seen flag was created with a picture of a cannon. The Texans defended successfully against the Mexican military who had come to seize their cannon. In modern times the flag has had the cannon replaced with the AR-15 (though the slideshow version above is an AK-47) as seen in the slideshow. This variant has been widely adopted by pro-Second Amendment groups. It’s now an “extremist” position to support part of the Bill of Rights.

If you make it as far as page 11 in the slideshow you’ll see slides documenting the types of extremist groups threatening the DoD. You’ll find mention of incels, but there’s no discussion of radical Islam. In their defense, maybe they don’t consider that “home grown” extremism. The victims of Nidal Hassan might disagree.

    What about the Masons?

What about the Green Thumbs? 😉

In addition to not mentioning our homegrown Slamonazis, I note they don’t mention Black Lies Matter, despite the church, businesses, courthouses and police stations they have burned. Guess the writers and presenters of this political indoctrination don’t want to face the backlash and risk getting cancelled and the rayciss label.

  2. KoB says:

No mention of those Anarchist Amish? Whatabout the Malingering Mennonites? Crafty Catholics? Backsliding Baptists (some of them are so Primitive)? Merry Making Methodists? (they speak to one another in the liquor store, you know?…and (the Horror) DANCE!) As Jehovah as my Witness I say we must not wait til a Later Day (Saints Alive!) to investigate those Roamin’ Mormons and their Treasure Trove of Records.

I, too, find it odd that the ONE “Religion” whose stated dogma is the destruction of non-believers, and America in particular, that has proven it will infiltrate the ranks, is not mentioned.

Maybe I missed it but what does DARPA stand for?
Democrats against Republicans, patriots and Americans?

    • AW1Ed says:

According to my acronym OCD, DARPA stands for Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. How and why they are involved in DOD policy are valid questions.

      • Hate_me says:

        Job security.

Ever since ARPA-NET evolved into the internet (and, eventually, Skynet), DARPA has been unable to compete with civil sector R&D.

Toeing the party line is a way to justify their employment.

        • rgr1480 says:

DARPA would feign interest in a few of our projects, promise funding, have in-depth meetings re budget, number of full-time employees, etc., then drop us after months of coordination. Later we’d notice some civilian company or university getting a DARPA grant for our research. There were probably some modifications, but “c’mon, man!”

After being jerked around at least twice like this we quit trusting them — they were just doing a brain-suck.

    • UpNorth says:

Whatever the definition the DoD came up with, I much prefer your definition, Steve. It’s certainly much closer to the truth.

Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency. Hmmm – Isn’t that the group of CIA spook wannabes stood up because DIA wasn’t chartered to spy on Americans in CONUS?

It initially struck me as an entity stood up in search of a mission. It seems like they found one.

  7. David says:

If that picture is from the slide show, the “Come and Take It” flag shows an AK, not an AR. Picky point.

So I sat through my extremism stand down Friday.
    It was interesting.
Basically if you need an opinion, the military will issue you the correct opinion to have.
All other opinions are invalid and sign that you hold violent extremist views.
I thought it was disturbing that they used the term “Violent Extremist Organizations” to describe US citizens. That’s the actual term used to describe ISIS, al-Queda, the Taliban etc.

Further if you belong to any organization that has membership restrictions based on sex/gender, ethnicity/race/national origins and you happen to be a white male, you are more than likely going to be investigated. Masons, Elks, Shriners, and a whole lot more stand by for questioning.

And they’ve essentially co-opted everybody into Stasi style snitches with the anonymous reporting system.

AND if an investigation is initiated, you get a derogatory remark in your JPAS file (bye bye security clearance)

    • President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neanderthal B Woodman Domestic Violent Extremist SuperStraight says:

“Violent Extremist Organizations” to describe US citizens.”

Hence the newest addition to my nom de plume, “Domestic Violent Extremist” .

“And they’ve essentially co-opted everybody into Stasi style snitches with the anonymous reporting system.”

THAT could prove interesting. Got an asshole officer that you especially hate? Time to drop a dime. Especially at the upper Perfumed Puzzle Palace Princes level. Tie the system in knots.
Libtards aren’t the only ones that can follow Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals. In this case, #4; “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules”, and possibly #13; “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it”

  12. MarineDad61 says:

    Zero military here.
    Nada.

Also, for those who insist the doors were held open,
or they were somehow “let in”….

Here is 12 seconds of reality check,
about Pennsylvania’s most (politically) famous Capitol Breacher.
Plenty more about Leo on the internet, and YouTube.

  13. USMC Steve says:

Not sure how you came to that conclusion, but several people have confirmed, including some cops who have been suspended for doing so, and some footage of capitol cops waving protesters into the building, that this did indeed happen. Was there more than one breach, don’t know. Was there more than one checkpoint or set of doors, don’t know. Were they really right wing types, that I do know, they were not. Every one of these people they actually tracked down, and reported on, turned out to be leftards dressed as normal people. Then the media just stopped reporting it for some reason. Well, except for the lady the capitol cops murdered.

    • Gus Army says:

That’s an amazing piece of disinformation you delivered. You get rubles or yuan for denying reality? Or just a trump sticker?

      • MarineDad61 says:

        Gus Army,
Especially since the video sample I provided above
is a 4th Generation namesake Bozell,
and the Bozell clan has a LONG history
with not only traditional right wing conservatism,
but also pushing the buttons with bits of extremism.
        Meaning, borderline RightWingNuts.

And Leo Brent Bozell IV just took the cake.

NOTE – I voted for Trump. Twice. No regrets.
        However…..
How many out there can’t differentiate between visiting DC,
spending time at a Trump Rally, the White House lawns, the Mall…
        which is all perfectly fine….
and then the sheer unacceptability of crashing the Capitol building.
        Ugh.

Here some crash, and smash, just before the video above.4

    • MarineDad61 says:

      USMC Steve,
I assure you, no one attempting to apply the
      “I was duped” defense,
whether scapegoating Trump, Pelosi, Antifa, or Oath Keepers,
      will escape jail when convicted.

Watch for future news on Leo Brent Bozell IV,
who remains free on NO bail,
and who retained a high priced DC/McLean VA law firm
(paid by Daddy Brent III, of course),
when plea, deal, or trial occurs.
Next hearing date has been pushed back to May 5.

  14. USMC Steve says:

Clarification to my last. Not about military, indeed none were in evidence, I was referring to the fact that the Antifa/crowd on demand Soros bots imitating real Americans were indeed let into the capitol building.

  15. Ex-PH2 says:

Geezo Pete, what are these useless twigs going to come up with next? Obviously, they need something to do, e.g., go to Supply and use up the remaining quarterly allowance to keep the budget level high, or – oh, I’ve got it: go down to Antarctica and shovel snow out of the way of incoming ships.

There is a serious lack of real-world reality going on here.

    • USMC Steve says:

Keep in mind Ex, that to those people, that IS their reality. They are mentally deficient where reality is concerned. And that ought to scare and worry the crap out of people who are normal. But a good many just ignore it, put fingers in ears, and go “la-la-la-la” rather than deal with it.

  16. SFC D says:

The biggest “Violent Extremist Organization” in the USA is and always will be the Deomcratic party. They have a long history of violence and consistently seek to overthrow and/or co-opt the government.
