Ummm….. what????

Ilhan Omar says Trump admin’s stimulus plan did more for people that Biden’s version. You know who she is, right? Wears a turban wrapped around her head, frequently makes loud noises about things.

Well, something got her goat (no pun intended at all) a few days ago, so I let this kind of simmer, then decided it could fill the air with some confab from you, especially since there’s a blizzard going on outside and the sheep and goats are all fed and watered and the hounds are asleep in their dens.

From the article:  Rep. Ilhan Omar today said changes made in the Senate to the $1.9 trillion stimulus package passed out of the House now means it will deliver less for Americans than the previous package designed by Republicans and signed by former President Donald Trump.

Omar, a progressive Democrat, was referring specifically to a change made in the Senate that would narrow income eligibility for the next round of $1,400 stimulus checks, cutting off couples that earn $160,000 a year and individual people who earn more than $80,000 a year. The House legislation, which passed Saturday, set the income caps at $200,000 for couples and $100,000 for individuals.

“I see it as a really disappointing development,” said Omar, speaking on CNN. “We obviously are now ultimately sending money to less people than the Trump administration.”

When pressed by CNN’s Brianna Keilar on whether she was saying that “Trump wanted to deliver more in the way of checks for Americans than Biden?” Omar responded affirmatively.

“Yeah,” she replied. “So the last checks that we were able to send had given … 17 million more people than we will ultimately do with the caps now. And that, you know, is going to be something that we’re going to have to explain, and I don’t know if many of us have a logical explanation on why we are delivering less.” – article

Am I on the same planet she’s on? Never thought I’d find that kind of attitude coming from her. But since those stimulus checks are in the process now of being distributed by the IRS, starting today, the population group total is lower than before because those who have been earning over the maximum amount ($75,000/year) should not be hurting for cash. I am very well aware that ‘hurting for cash’ is directly related to where people live, but it does not mean that the cost of living everywhere is as high as it is in Chicago.

So many people have begun working from home, doing the same work as before, that while restaurants were closed (at least in my general area), offices were connected by online facilities. And even now, restaurants are beginning to re-open and pick up customers.

But isn’t that what the internet is meant to do for us? I have read in the local newspaper that some people are finding it easier and less distracting to work from home. They get the same workload taken care of, and do not worry about the kids.  We’ll see how this pans out over the next six months, going into autumn, but the work-from-home facility coupled with in-person office visits may become a way to work in the future, especially for parents with small children or children with special needs.

To be frank, with Chicago winters the vile, cold, cruel things they can be, I would not have minded working from home occasionally when the weather was at its worst.  How would I do A/R markups? Simple: scan and e-mail them to me. No waiting on bitter mornings for the bus to finally show up, so overloaded that if you did get to sit, it was on someone else’s lap. (Eeeewww!)  And no more waiting until 5:45PM for the homeward bound bus, either. Chicago can be really vile in the winter. Pitiless. Glad I don’t live there any more.

We’ll see how things turn out this summer. Viruses generally don’t like hot, humid summer weather. It hurts their feewings. But while Ilhan’s dismay at not sending out as many payments as the last two times seems to be real on her part, I do have to wonder how much is motivated by ‘gimme yer vote’ stuff.

“…something got her goat…” Welp, there goes the headliner act for Man Love Thursday. Isn’t goat pr0n what gets them in the mood?

I won’t see that $ (didn’t get the $600 either), except as an increase in my taxes. This whole giveaway of the Taxpayer’s money is a full blown crock. They’re not buying votes, they don’t have to anymore. The vote will be the way that they want it to be. This is a thinly veiled attempt to keep the FSA at bay and pay off the demonrats that have stolen from their Cities, States, and pension funds.

PHUQUE HER!…and the goat she rode in on!

Good thing they didn’t get her camel. Driver’s Ed AND Sex Ed would’ve had to been cancelled

Speaking of working from home, I was visiting with friends and family (oh no) yesterday and a friend of my niece’s husband works at DTE (Detroit Edison). He has been working from home for almost a year and the higher ups there stated that he and many others there would never be coming back to work in their building. It seems that they are actually more productive working at home than they are commuting to and from work,

Not to mention the HUGE cost savings by not having to rent out office space, buy furniture, travel for meetings and conferences, and the list goes on.

N/A for Sparky. I still get to live out of a suitcase until I retire or die.
