Progressivism Collapsing California

Martin Sieff, of the Strategic Culture Foundation, provides his analysis of California’s downward spiral. As we suspected, progressivism and leftist policies tend to economically ruin areas that they influence. With this economic deterioration comes deterioration in other areas of society. A look at what is happening in California is a projection of what will happen in the rest of the United States given similar progressive drives.

From the Strategic Culture Foundation:

Yet now, California is in terminal collapse and crisis. Governor Gavin Newsom, farcically promoted by the national Mainstream Media (MSM) as a heroic White Knight in Shining Armor in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic last spring has been exposed even in his own state as a catastrophic bungler and hypocrite who has never had a clue what he was — or more usually was not — doing. As I write, California’s sick and tired citizens are close to providing the 1.5 million signatures necessary to pull Newsom into what would certainly be a chaotic recall election.

California was also ravaged last year by the worst wild fires in its history. The slavish media — told what to think by the mindless Los Angeles Times (once a great newspaper) and even more infantile San Francisco Chronicle — bent over backwards to avoid acknowledging the real causes but they have been exhaustively documented.

Witless romantic Green environmental policies scrapped the centuries old, wise practices of creating firebreaks in forests between clumps of trees that would limit fire outbreaks in hot weather. Far from “protecting the trees” and wildlife, as the kneejerk Greens demanded, the ending of windbreak spaces instead allowed forest fires to blaze on an unprecedented scale and at record speed.

At the same time, multiple millions of people sweated in even luxury suburbs through the rolling heat waves without any air conditioning relief because the state electric grid -another victim of ignorant Green prejudice falsely masquerading as “science” — repeatedly collapsed, unable to generate the necessary reliable requisite power levels at vital times.

Los Angeles, the state’s largest city and arguably the most populous now in the United States, has become a byword for violent crime and especially the stronghold of the enormous, ultraviolent and rapidly growing MS 13 organization, routinely mislabeled as a mere “gang” in media reports. MS 13 has up to 50,000 members worldwide of whom at least 10,000, officially, and probably twice as many according to the private assessments of many police officers are in LA.

Martin Sieff’s reporting specialty is US and global economic issues. The Strategic Culture Foundation has the entire article here.

Too many Conservatives! Saboteurs and Wreckers! Roll harder Left and we will achieve the Radiant Future!

    Calizuela Prevails!

  2. The Other Whitey says:

Our house went on the market Tuesday. We already have an offer for 15 grand over our asking price from someone looking to get out of the cities, with five showings scheduled today. Yuma, where we’re going, is rapidly becoming a refugee community of sorts for the growing diaspora of Americans getting away from California’s bullshit.

As for Newsom’s recall, it’s extremely popular, but that won’t matter. California uses Dominion machines to count votes, so the only way he’ll get ousted is if the dem Cosa Nostra decides that he’s a liability, in which case another handpicked fair-haired boy will get the nod, and we’ll be trading one leftist problem for another.

Soon I’ll be across the state line and mostly wash my hands of this shitshow. I’ll still be a California state employee, but that’s it. My salary will go drastically farther and will mostly be out of Sacramento’s reach.

Commiefornia was the test bed. Coming soon to a state that you reside in.

  4. Ex-PH2 says:

Well, you do sort of get what you deserve in something like this. Being on a cloud, up above it all while everyone else is just rolling around in the mud below is a surefire way to lose your popularity.

  5. A Proud Infidel®™ says:

California and New York are merely samples of what the political left wants to turn the rest of the USA into!

  6. rgr769 says:

Wow, 10,000 MS-13 gangsters in the LA basin. Imagine what that portends for the rest of the country when we have several million more illegals crossing our southern border. Tens of thousands of MS-13 and narco cartel hamsters together with our own homegrown criminal gangs. That is what we have to look forward to, while the Progs want us disarmed.

Add in, the LA D.A. just hired a public defender as his number two who wants to abolish incarceration and the police. What could go wrong?

    • rgr769 says:

That should say “gangsters” not “hamsters.” Would that they were as harmless as hamsters.

    • Hack Stone says:

Here in the National Capital Region, we have County leaders declaring their territory sanctuaries from Federal Immigration Efforts, preventing by law any cooperation between County employees and ICE, releasing child molesters into the wild to offend again. Meanwhile, MS-13 shows the citizens that diversity is our strength by regularly using machetes to remove hearts and heads on anyone who crosses them. The phrase “Winning their hearts and minds” must change meaning when translated from English to Spanish.

  7. Green Thumb says:

His hypocrisy is what kills me.

  8. docduracoat says:

California Representatives Evan Low and Cristina Garcia have introduced a bill to force department stores to have one unisex section for childrens toys and clothing.

This is what the legislature is focussed on while the housing crisis, electricity crisis, and rising crime drive the middle class away.
The “jungle primary” system ensures that no Republicans appear on the ballot so a protest vote is impossible

  9. Prior Service says:

This is exactly why I won’t be retiring to my six acres in Washington. Californians ruined it.

    • Topski says:

Washington is getting just as bad, my brother lives there and the Seattle mindset is creeping in everywhere, transplanted from Cali of course.

  10. SFC D says:

This cannot be true. Lars said so.

  11. Friend says:

I refuse to work my ass off to help convict murderers, rapist etc so, I j7st gave a months notice. Just recieved word the high court decreed “no 14 or 15 year old killer, rapist or arsonist” will be heard in adult court or will they be housed in adult prison…
Shit will get worse with juvenile offenders…

  12. Poetrooper says:

California is being run by the same kind of folks who like to run homeowners’ associations and make everyone live according to their dictates.

What’s alarming ol’ Poe at the moment is that my little Arkansas village, which happens to be the world’s largest gated community, is coming up on an election for the board of directors of our property owners’ association and according to their bios, several of the candidates are recent transplants from the Left Coast.

It appears we have been “discovered” by Left Coast lefties and once they check out our “culturally backward” area they love it because of its natural beauty and slower pace of life.

They can buy a lakefront villa here for less than what they sold their suburban single-story, three-bedroom, tract house in that paradise they created out west. Their hefty pensions put them in the top income tier here so they have no compunction about voting to raise fees and assessments on everything and everybody.

The only upside is that Widow Poe will have a more valuable property to sell when ol’ Poe makes that final jump into the great unknown in the not too distant future.

Folks here at TAH frequently characterize liberals as cockroaches.

I’d say they’re much more akin to termites…

  13. CWORet says:

Well, cockroaches are a nuisance. Termites are a destructive nuisance. Both ‘can’ be eradicated, however…
