POLICE: Shooter at Krystal in Trussville acting in self-defense

Posted By: Erica Thomas
TRUSSVILLE — A man has been charged in connection to an incident at Krystal in Trussville, but it was not the man accused of shooting a gun that is facing charges.

Trussville Police said DeMarus Daniel, 32, of Birmingham, is charged with assault first-degree and assault second-degree. Detectives said Daniel threw hot grease on two of his co-workers at Krystal after getting into an argument over $10.

Officers first responded to a call about multiple shots fired at the fast-food joint, near the Chalkville Mountain Road and Service Road intersection, on Friday, Aug. 21, 2020. While on the scene, detectives discovered six shots had been fired but no one had been shot.

After investigating, police said they believe after Daniel threw the grease on the two victims, he got into his car and attempted to run over one of the victims that he had thrown grease on. That’s when investigators said the victim fired shots at Daniel.

Daniel was not hurt and police said they believe the shooter was acting in self-defense.

Yakima County prosecutor won’t charge woman with husband’s killing

YAKIMA, Wash. — A Yakima woman will not face charges for killing her husband after the county prosecutor determined she acted in self-defense.

Yakima police said the 41-year-old woman fatally shot her husband Walter Hansen, 51, near South 18th Avenue and West Nob Hill Boulevard on Aug. 19. The woman called 911 that morning and admitted she had just shot him in the head.

On Monday, Yakima County Prosecutor Joe Brusic issued a statement saying his office will not file criminal charges against her based on the current evidence in the case.

“In this particular case, the evidence currently garnered would make prosecution and our ability to prove this allegation of murder beyond a reasonable doubt against [the woman] highly unlikely. After a full and fair consideration of all the current facts and analysis of their relationship as well as the familial history, it is clear that the decedent’s volatility would lead a reasonable juror to conclude that [the woman] acted in self-defense,” the statement said.

WOMAN USES BEAR RIFLE TO STOP KIDNAPPING NEAR WALTON
She spotted the man, who was badly beaten, on Highway 126 near Walton while heading to go bear hunting.

Posted By: Chelsea Hunt & Emma Withrow
EUGENE, Ore. – A local woman used her bear rifle to save a kidnapping victim from possibly being murdered on Sunday, keeping one of the armed assailants at bay.

In an interview with KEZI 9 News, the woman said she spotted the man, who was badly beaten, on Highway 126 near Walton as she was on her way to go bear hunting. After calling 911 the victim told her he and his girlfriend had been kidnapped, and the kidnapper was driving his car, which was parked nearby.
“He is going to kill me, and he’s probably going to kill you since you are here,” the man told her.

The woman, whose identity we are not revealing, said she told the man to find a place to hide. When she saw another man walking down the highway with a handgun, she got her hunting rifle out and waited for troopers to arrive.

Troopers arrived to the scene at about 7:30 a.m. but the suspect had already fled the scene on foot. He and a second suspect remain at large, and a third was taken into custody.

Michael Light, 39, of Florence, faces charges of second-degree assault and first-degree kidnapping.

Investigators say Light and the two other men assaulted the man for an extended period of time in his campsite. Light then kidnapped a woman, who the bear hunter says was the victim’s girlfriend and Light’s ex-girlfriend.

“Bear rifle” is a bit ambiguous, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes, but another good guy, or a gal in this case, with a gun stopped another crime.

A Garand also works for saying “stop looting my neighbor”.

Throwing hot grease?
A suitable punishment would be dipping the perp’s hands in hot grease and then waiting an hour before sending him in the hospital.

Shoot someone? Make sure yours is the only report to the police.

Victim’s girlfriend and perp’s ex-girlfriend. Usually comes down to a woman, doesn’t it? Dude, she’s just not that into you.

11B-Mailclerk

She’s not into you.

But her 9mm JHP will be “into you” …

Excellent article in this months Amereican Rifleman.

“The Guns Of A Dead Revolutionary”

Discusses weapons used by Che Guevara. He loved the M2 carbine
but was once shot by a Garrand, taking out the M2.

He’s dead now but many a young liberal still honor his evil.
Burn in Hell asshole.

Will Daniel from Krystal try and grease his two greased co-workers from not pressing charges?? If the two greased co-workers will a grease to that, then everything should be Jake. Myself and my M-1 thumb love those Garands. Should have taken one for free from a friend who rebuilt them. Oh well.

You want fried fingers with that? For $10? Freaking idiots.

Good on the wife for making sure her story was the only one told. If the po po let it slide there had to be more evidence of his abuse. Rot in hell mofo.

I could bearly keep from lusting out loud over Ms Thang, Sister Golden Haired Surprise/Emma Withrupp(?) in the video from the KEZI Linky. That in itself was worth the click. Nice mug shots of the 3 perps also. Went bear hunting and bagged a sh^tbird.

All God’s Chill’ren needs them an M1 Garand or an M14…for reasons. What was that, I think Roh-Dog(?) commented yesterday/this morning…the 5.56 cartridge was just a tiny step above a varmint bullet. At one point in time, back in the 60s M1s were very plentiful for a little or nothing in every pawn shop and used gunz store across the land. Wish I’d of bought up a coupla hundred of them.

Roh-Dog

True. That doesn’t stop 5.56 from being effective.
If SHTF and I don’t have to tote the steel far or have more than 10-20 rounds, I’m grabbing the M1A.
At the end of the day, guns are tools and none of them are good at everything but 7.62NATO or greater don’t play.

Forgot to mention on my above comment about the Parris Island recruit who scored 248 out of a possible 250 on the rifle qualification course. Started shooting at age 5 or six.

Don’t know where else to post this, so here we go:
I think The Great Ammo Drought is over….-ish.
The positive rate of change in price for most rounds has slowed, some have actually gone down! I know that sounds impossible but the data don’t lie.
If history is a yardstick, don’t expect .22 LR to be available/cheap for awhile, the retooling eats into the ROI and the overhead on rimfire is quite high to start. Sorry folks.
Bulk foreign stuff is still coming in which presses the domestic stuff down a bit, if the Russian makers get a case of the ass, or even ‘better’, Joe Bite-me gets elected, that tap might just get Executive Ordered shut.
In sum, things may change for better or worse.
Be prepared.

Pardon the obvious free advertisment but I check this site often
and it has been getting worse except for handgun ammo which is
indeed coming back. AR stuff, forgetaboutit.

Roh-Dog

It’s a drought alright, but the cost has been steady for a bit.
Handgun stuff has turned ‘round in price and availability is improving.
Obviously any malefactionations* (I’m looking at you, Kenosha!) could reverse this trend, but I’m optimistic!
AR ammo is bread and butter for ammo manufactures so knock it off with them negative waves!

*thats a made up word, you’re welcome English.
