“I have a right to make sure that my home is secure”

| August 21, 2020

It is exceedingly hard to find a flattering picture of Her Honor the Mayor

I agree with the headline, as I’m sure almost everyone reading here will as well. The quote came from none other than the Mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot.

The Chicago Tribune was interviewing her and the police superintendent on an unrelated matter when they asked about a Tribune report that heard

police have banned protesters from demonstrating on her block in the Logan Square neighborhood, ordering officers to arrest anyone who refuses to leave.

The directive surfaced in a July email from then-Shakespeare District Cmdr. Melvin Roman to officers under his command. It did not distinguish between the peaceful protesters Lightfoot regularly says she supports and those who might intend to be destructive, but ordered that after a warning is given to demonstrators, “It should be locked down.”

Violent insurrectionists *ahem* “Protestors” storming your neighborhood is good for thee, but not for Herronner. She cites “threats” as the reason her constituents are unable to exercise their First Amendment rights or their rights to peaceably assemble under the Illinois State Constitution (Article 1, Section 5).

The key to being one of these big city D mayors is to be a hypocrite. Not just a small hypocrite, but Gold standard, deans list, don’t even notice, hypocrite.

If you aren’t you can’t be in the job. No guns for you? I have armed security. No cops on your street? Mine is locked down. You’re out of work because of my policies? Maybe you should get in line with my policies…

Governor “Get a Job as an Essential Worker” Cuomo approved!
They’re paying snitches $70k/yr to violate the civil rights of their fellow citizens by tracking and tracing ‘CoVid-19’ ‘exposures’.

Doc Savage,

Why are you so racist, calling that beautiful human being an animal?

She have valiantly defended the rights of the poor.

Absolutely Savage

The Dead Man

Honestly I’m the rioters made it up to that dead couple’s attic without destroying the rest of the house. I can totally understand being afraid someone would knock her house off that display table though.

The Dead Man

Honestly I’m surprised* don’t try to joke right before bed.

Privilege for me, but not for thee– eh, bugeyes?

OWB

Well, yes, Ma’am, you do. As do the rest of us. You may not know this but the same right to security applies to all of us and it stems from the same place. While you may indeed be very special to some folks, so are the rest of us.

Marauding gangs of thugs don’t honor the specialness of you, me, or those folks over there when they wander through any of our ‘hoods.

I saw that headline on Fox News last night and literally laughed out loud. The Freaking gall of it all was just amazing, but well, that is what I have come to expect from our political class. It’s just funnier coming from a lefty mayor who is letting those same people F-up everyone else’s house(including lots of those black lives she says claims to believe matter).

E4 Mafia '83-'87

If she has the ‘right to make my home secure’, then she needs to move down to the Southside of Chicago to give some of those people some security.
What’s that, no? Is anyone surprised? Must be Trmp’s fault cuz Orange Man Bad.

The Mayor has a bad case of the NIMBY…

Roh-Dog

She should build a wall around her house, you know, to keep it sovereign and to regulate the composition of the people that enter her, um, neighborhood.
These f**king people…

And it turned out sooo well. A shining example of disorder sewn by class-animus.

She walks on light.

Who, whom?
Lenin’s question is yet to be answered in Chicago.

What a spoiled BRAT!!!!!

She ain’t that important. I guess the fact that she’s black doesn’t have anything to do with it?

In fact, she’s not even unique. Harold Washington was Chicago’s first African-American mayor, and he didn’t act like a spoiled brat. And there weren’t any riots or hooliganism, or episodes of looting and pillaging.

Must be hormones or something.

David

How dare you suggest that a first gay black female mayor isn’t special? Next we’ll be cheering the election of the first black, lesbian, disabled, Muslim, left-handed, cross-eyed, dyslexic, hammer-toed mayor.

And neither she nor most Leftoids see a problem with what she said.

-of course- the self-selected Elite play by different rules.

And that right there should get her impeached/recalled. Not just because of the grotesque violation of her oath, but because she has demonstrated she is incapable of understanding her oath.

Fyrfighter

Not that I’m holding my breath, but if justice ever happens that the JEF is held accountable for his crimes, will he get Secret Service protection in jail? How about Hitlery?

We see this more and more…politicians and other “important” people who consider themselves above us poor commoners. Let the shootings continue, the looting increase, and the overall crime go through the roof, in their minds. That should only affect those who were unable to “rise above” the lot they were given in life. Live in subsidized housing as a true beneficiary of the welfare state? Well, you should have stayed in school, avoided having children at an early age, and/or refrained from criminal acts (though we thoroughly support your vote for us). Earn a meager living but able to eke by providing the basics for your family on your own? Well, you should have chosen a career that guarantees promotion or advancement. Make a comfortable living with a nice little house in the suburbs? Nope, you still aren’t worthy of the special protection that our so-called “elites” have earned. Heck, live in a posh area and decide to take it upon yourselves to protect what you’ve earned? Wait for the criminal charges because your right to defend yourself is trumped by political outrage (see the McCloskeys).

Where I’m going is this: to “elites” like Lightfoot and her political ilk, the needs of the many are far outweighed by the desires of the few. BLM, to the extent that riots and “peaceful” protests don’t affect them, but as soon as their lives and families are affected it’s game on. Defund the police, until those police are needed to protect the “important” people.

I’ve posted elsewhere that it is easy for politicians to legislate the defunding of police agencies. Our illustrious congresspeople have the US Capitol Police, who will not be defunded, guaranteeing the safety of Congress. Regardless of who’s in the White House, the Secret Service with it’s uniformed division secure the President of the United States. State “leaders” usually have special agencies (like the VA Capitol Police) or a State Police security detail, while local “leaders” (like Lightfoot) are able to utilize the same type of detail from their local department.

This surprises me none at all. Skrunt! Read something, somewhere the other day/night that she was blaming all of the problems of Chiraq on that Emmanuel fellow…and Trump!

Carlton G Long

Didn’t that clown “mayor” in Seattle act in a similar fashion, once the “peaceful protesters” breached her property?

Devtun

Silly peasants. Security is for the elites…now get off my lawn you filthy commoner savages.
