Republicans’ strategy for 2010; be Democrats
According to the Washington Times this morning, three bubbleheads, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush and Eric Cantor met in Alexandria, VA yesterday to announce that Democrats have a better strategy than Republicans, so we should be more like them.
“You can’t beat something with nothing, and the other side has something. I don’t like it, but they have it, and we have to be respectful and mindful of that,” Mr. Bush said.
The former president’s brother, often mentioned as a potential candidate in 2012, said President Obama’s message of hope and change during the 2008 campaign clearly resonated with Americans.
“So our ideas need to be forward looking and relevant. I felt like there was a lot of nostalgia and the good old days in the [Republican] messaging. I mean, it’s great, but it doesn’t draw people toward your cause,” Mr. Bush said.
“From the conservative side, it’s time for us to listen first, to learn a little bit, to upgrade our message a little bit, to not be nostalgic about the past because, you know, things do ebb and flow.”
Now, until this morning, I liked Jeb Bush, I liked Mitt Romney, but they claim they’ve been listening to Americans and this is what they’ve come up with. What Americans were they listening to? ACORN-Americans? Washington Post trolls?
After the “Tea Parties” this is what the leading Republicans come up with? Like I’ve been saying since 2005 – I don’t give my money to the Democrats because I disagree with their policies, so why should I give my money to Republicans who are supporting those same policies?

Jonn-
I have not donated to them since 2005 either. And when they call, apparently nobody takes notes….
Jonn, if you would please. Some of us former submariners object to the use of the term “bubbleheads” in that context. I prefer the term, “morons” and “clueless” be applied to them in this case. Perhaps these three should have read Reagan’s speech to CPAC in 1975. Better yet, maybe if they UNDERSTOOD what Reagan said, they’d look at their shoes and go, “Yeah, maybe you’re right.” Mitt, Jeb? There’s a very good reason conservatives are looking for the next Reagan. And you two clowns are just pissed that you were examined for said qualities and found wanting. Buh-bye, now.
…stay out the bushes.
DAMN! And here I was, hoping that Mitt would be The Next Great One to take the lead in the start of the new Conservative TEA Party. How disappointing.
I could understand if they were saying we need to look at the Dems to see how we can best put our message out there. Because, you must admit, the Dems out-messaged the Repubs by a wide margin. But as to the message itself, that needs to be a return to the tried-and-true conservative. Not a “looking forward”.
The only thing these a$$hats and their brethren democrats are “looking forward” to is, drilling deeper in the taxpayer pockets. Buh bye Romney and Bush!
I agree with Claymore … stay out of the Bushes. You wanna do land nav get into the woodline. Jus’ sayin.
“so our ideas have to be forward looking and relevant.”
One would only hope that someone would have forward looking and relevant ideas. But, looking around, not so much.
Forward looking? Forward looking, like as in, “progressive?”
Not a surprise gentlemen, but an unhappy day none the less.
I believe they may have followed the Goracle and invested in global warming. They want to see their pay day in carbon trading. Only thing that fits for me.
