Legally armed driver shoots, kills gunman to stop fatal shooting spree in Indiana
BROWNSBURG, Ind. — A legally armed man shot and killed a gunman in Brownsburg, Ind., after a fatal unprovoked shooting, saving a second victim’s life in the process.
The 22-year-old suspect, Joshua Hayes, allegedly attacked two men as they were working in the Brownsburg Cemetery Tuesday afternoon, July 14, Indianapolis-based WISH-TV reported.
Without provocation, Hayes allegedly chased 36-year-old worker Seth Robertson out into an intersection, where he shot and killed him, according to the station.
As Hayes was chasing the second cemetery worker, one of his bullets whizzed into the vehicle of an unidentified good Samaritan who was stopped at a red light near the intersection, injuring him, the Indianapolis Star reported.
That man stepped out of the car, returned fire with a legal weapon and fatally struck Hayes.

Update Article: Retired Army Master Sergeant Gets Heroism Medal for Stopping Shooter on Kansas Bridge
By Gina Harkins
The retired soldier who was hailed as a hero after taking down a gunman who opened fire at people stopped in their vehicles on a bridge in May was awarded for his actions this week.
Retired Master Sgt. David Royer was awarded the Soldier’s Medal on Thursday, nearly two months after he drove toward a gunman, ramming him with his truck as the man began firing on people at random.
“It’s hard to say what inspires soldiers at the risk of their own lives to intervene and to save other soldiers, but that’s exactly what Master Sgt. Royer did on that day,” McConville said during the ceremony. “He risked his own life to save others, and we’re very, very proud of his actions that day.”
The medal, which is the Army‘s highest award for non-combat heroism, was presented by Army Chief of Staff Gen. James McConville at a ceremony at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

Three arrested in connection with triple murder of Florida fishing buddies
Sheriff calls ringleader ‘pure evil in the flesh’
Two men and a woman on Wednesday were arrested in connection with the brutal beating deaths of three Florida friends during a nighttime catfishing trip.
“We have locked up the three people responsible for the murders of these guys,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said.Tony “TJ” Wiggins, 26, a hardened criminal with 230 felony criminal charges against him in his arrest history, was the alleged ringleader behind the “massacre.” His girlfriend, Mary Whittemore, 27, and his brother William “Robert” Wiggins, 21, have also been arrested.
Judd called the elder Wiggins “pure evil in the flesh” and said his criminal history dates back to when he was 12 years old. He has 15 convictions and has two stints in state prison on his record.
“He’s a thug, he’s a criminal,” Judd said, adding Wiggins has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder, tampering with evidence, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.
His brother has been charged with tampering with evidence and accessory. Whittemore has been charged with accessory after the fact of capital felony.

Glad to see MSG Roger was awarded the Soldiers Medal.
That one needs to have an extra device attached; a miniature Drivers Badge.

Spell check, I can make typos all by my self. Stop helping.
I hate sell check.
Welcome Home and good to have your aeronautically designated Happy Azz back being a productive member of Society. Not that the Hardin Boy didn’t do a stand up job in your malingering, err, err, absence, he nearly created a riot and did burn out a number of retinas with his self portrait posted on the Sunday FGS. Fortunately. in my case, I had my welder’s goggles on.
Wheeled gun Hand Cannons and a plethora of articles makes the Old Gun Bunny hop for joy. And the linky? I swear, Amy, what you gonna do? I think, I’m in love with you! Remember this one Hondo?
The Ruger Vaquero or Blackhawk will fill most needs for “revolver of thump”
And if one needs a bit more, the Super Blackhawk will do nicely.
“230 felony criminal charges”
I understand these are not convictions, but who decided it would be safe to let this thing loose on society again?
I believe you call them the DA. After pleading his crimes down to a couple years, he went to prison. Served his time, and is free to go. The prison board can only deny parole, for early release, they can’t tack on time for being a shit bag. As the Sheriff said “this guy would shoot you for looking at him wrong.” Not sure where they got what was said, but apparently he was blaming the three friends (or at least the first to arrive), for stealing the engine from his truck. Then they shot the others for shot the others for showing up.
This little town is just down the road from me! What a scumbag these guys were! This is why I am never unarmed!! Call me crazy, but I will always have at least a pistol on me at all times. I also carry at least two 10 round clips!! Just don’t ever fuck with me or my family!!
God Bless You All!!!

WFTL 850AM,Fl. Local news had the three perps on camera standing in line behind one of the victims in a grocery store and heard him telling the cashier that he and his two other friends were going fishing so he was followed to the fishing site and killed along with his two friends. A bag was found in the victims pickup truck with the stores name on it and a receipt with a time stamp on it. Polk County Officers went to the store and the camera showed them all in line in the store plus an empty shell casing was found at the shooters trailer which matched the perps gun. The PD had a lot of phone calls telling them to check out the perp wiggins since everyone knew about his record which goes back to his first arrest at the age of 12. He also did some time in prison from what I heard on the radio this morning.
That Wiggins chap needs a dirt nap….
Everyone needs a S&W model whatever.
Welcome back from your secret mission AW1Ed.
I still have my S&W Mod. 14, .38 6in. barrel which has a pencil barrel and I ran down to Kennelworth NJ and had a bomar rib and rear sight installed to balance the gun since the grip made it bottom heavy. Had to be around 1971. great in Police EL matches and used my Brink’s issue S&W Mod 10 .38 4in bull barrel for combat matches. Invited twice to the Nassau County Police range in South Hempstead NY for their combat matches. Used belt held drop pouches at the time until we were issued speed loaders. Shot a number of matches in New Jersey years before the Anti gun politicians got into the act.
