DU Typically restraining their glee over Breitbart’s death
Just what I expect from this group bereft of an adult supervision.
For my part, I always thought he was great, and I truly appreciated him letting me write over at Big Peace.
I guess you can tell your value for the cause by who your enemies are. I’d like to think he is looking down on them now and pointing out how their heinousness is well suited.

An Occutard like Insipid’s premature ejaculation, BD, acting uncivilly? Say it ain’t so.
I generally follow the rule of not saying anything if I don’t have anything nice to say, especially as it relates to the recently deceased. Looking at this topic, it seems that there is a little disconnect or cognitive dissonance. While anonymous commenters say bad things about everyone, regardless of politics, Breitbart himself called Teddy Kennedy a pile of excrement right after he passed. Are you saying that anonymous commenters are more tasteless than a public figure who did the same thing to another deceased public figure?
Ben- I didn’t care for that comment from Breitbart myself. But again, I’m not an apologist for others comments.
Well then how come you didnt go after breitbart the same way you’re going afrer the DU set? Selective outrage much?
I’m not sure if you read us here much, but I sometimes don’t post here for weeks. For my part, I didn’t speak bad of Kennedy for the simple reason that a) my dad was a delegate for him, and b) I try to not disparage veterans unless they shit on service. Again, I am responsible for what I write, not what others say, or what I don’t comment on.
I’m really baffled by your intransigence at logical arguments, although I know I shouldn’t be.
Hmmmm…because unlike Kennedy, Breitbart didn’t kill anyone?
“I have never killed a man, but I have read many obituaries with great pleasure.” – Clarence Darrow
ha, I like that Joe. At one point I actually looked into that quote, and found it attributed to a shit load of people for some reason. I think it is a bit like the Geo Wash quote about “readiness to serve” which everyone seems to use, but no one can source.
Here’s hoping someone links to yours then, Joe.
Also, to be clear, I think there is a difference between reading an obit with pleasure and writing something along the lines of “I’m glad he’s dead, he liked to fuck little boys and is with Satan now…”
@57, just reconfirming, but I did a google and about 50% think it was Mark Twain for some reason.
Its really OK, the thing is, Everyone knows who Mr. Breitbart was, obviously by the outpouring of grief and the malicious idiots spewing their venomous bullshit.
Best part is, Joe, BigDouche, the DailyScrew……..no one will ever even notice when the die…..
no one. 🙂 sucks to be you guys. just sayin.
Yeah, I had trouble figuring out who to attribute it to, so I took my best guess.
@63, yeah, wasn’t sharpshooting you, just noting that pithy comments like that tend to have wandering attributions.
b’emet or,
I won’t care, I’ll be dead.
Joe, no one cares that you’re alive
Okay Joe, but in the runup to that final day, what will you be able to say the impact of your life was on those you leave behind?
Kinda what we’re driving at here, in case you weren’t paying attention.
And I’m still waiting to hear your “proof” of his racism.
Joe: too lazy to use a search engine to fact-check, eh? Figures.
I guess you don’t “get” the concept of accuracy, either.
BigDouche: consume excrement and expire. Please.
Then again, perhaps you might enjoy that . . . .
NHSharpy: he’s going to trot out the edited Sherrod tape, probably. Although that’s more evidence of ideological “spin” than racism, and is common practice in the MSM.
^^Like^^
Oh, and Joey, quit changing the subject, I believe Sparky asked you to source your claim that Mr. Breitbart was a racist.
I’m also curious to see how that argument works.
Huh? Please tell me where I said he was a racist. I never said that since I don’t even know that much about the guy except he was a rabid tea bagger, that’s enough to give me a real negative impression. But I don’t know anything about this racism charge of which you speak. Please enlighten me…
I think he meant BigDouche not you Joe.
(BTW- When did I start defending Joe? I should have gotten a retainer.)
But boy oh boy, the contributors get an “A” for coming up with some really creative insults.
And Jonn talks aabout elevating the tone of the discussion. Ha!
I don’t think Jonn gives a shit about the tone of discourse to be honest. It’s the one thing we tend to disagree about strategically. I guess I am just more loveable that way, which is why I got to be friends with Army Sergeant among others. I try not to take political differences too seriously, but then again if I did, I would have been disowned by now.
@65 obviously you do…..you wouldn’t have replied. fucking loser. #66 had it absolutely correct…..
From what I can find, it is indeed Darrow’s work, and the full quote goes – “All men have an emotion to kill; when they strongly dislike some one they involuntarily wish he was dead. I have never killed any one, but I have read some obituary notices with great satisfaction.” It comes from his book ‘The Story of My Life’
It is frequently attributed to Twain and confused with Twain’s “I didn’t attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it.”
From Twitter:
Donna Brazile ? @donnabrazile
Andrew Breitbart was a conservative political combatant who was unafraid of his critics. We battled on and off air, but he was a genius.
See, Joe, BD, et al? How fucking hard was that?
What I find rather funny is the fact that up until Breitbart’s conversion into a “Reagan republican with libertarian leanings” post Clarence Thomas, his liberal bona fides were never in question. So when someone changes their mind about their political leanings, do they suddenly get a package in the mail that loads them down with all of the standard stereotypes and tropes from their opposition?
#5 Joe. Or, was that someone using your name?
@82, oh shit, I missed that one.
@82, different IP address.
That first “Joe” also goes by “Joe Rifleman” and commented back in December.
Hmmm, maybe this site needs a login, like other sites use?
And, my apology for Joey not reading the posts and disclaiming that he didn’t say it much sooner.
No, I did not write #5. I may lose my cool, but I never use racial slurs, never.
TSO: same network? If so, could be lease assignment expiration.
Yup, different IP. We need a scorecard or something around here. Even so, I’ve heard the “real” Joe rail on about “conservative racism” on so many different occasions I’m visualizing him sitting in front of his monitor, nodding his head in approval.
And for the record, Joe–or BD, or anyone else–I didn’t pile on when Ted Kennedy died, or any other uber-lib, but I sure as shit didn’t shed any tears for them either, nor will I in the future.
There are some liberals I do regard as having good intentions, albeit misplaced methods. Then there are people like you who are just interested in being a bunch of self-serving bomb-throwing assclowns. It’s the latter category that serves to piss me off and make me work that much harder for what good we have already lost far too much of in this country, thanks to the subversion of people like you.
It’s not him. Joe’s comments have a certain flavor, and that one is a bit too blunt for “our” Joe. not even the same area of the country near as I can tell. Joe would own it if it was him. This other guy used his email as well, something “our” Joe doesn’t usually do. Although I understand Jonn has talked to him. For the longest time we thought Joe was another incarnation of SouthernDem/VT Woody.

Andrew was recently working with Sheriff Joe in Arizona on the Obama Eligibility issue. He worked with a team of investigators that would come into my coffee shop and meet with him to discuss how the investigation was going. Andrew was about to blow the lid off the whole story using of all things- the ink that was used from the certificate shown in Hawaii….today is the Sheriff Joe’s day top release the investigation results and Andrew shows up dead 18 hrs before the news conference. So now we will see if the press conference will even go on with out Sheriff Joe’s top witness…. Well played Obama, well Played….

Pre-existing “medical condition” would be a convenient cover.
TSO: thanks for the info.
I’m guessing you got my e-mail?
@93, probably. Dude, I am so underwater on emails right now it is scary. I’ve got PAOs and such emailing me to the point where I stopped looking at my email for a bit. My prolific responding here is my way of evading the terror that is my inbox.
Oh, and Joey, your apology is accepted for #75.
OK. Understand the feeling. (smile)
Oh man, I hope there was no skullduggery involved. Ever see the assination scene in “Michael Clayton” where Tom Wilkinson’s character gets killed in a way that would look like natural causes? Scariest murder scene I’ve ever seen in the movies.
In case you hadn’t seen it:
That scene insists upon itself.
H1–sorry, plum outta tinfoil here. His father-in-law stated that he had been having heart trouble for a year now.
Bad timing, nothing more. Of course, there’s never a GOOD time to pass on, but you get the idea. Not going there.
