West Charlotte nightclub homicide deemed justified: CMPD report

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A fatal shooting at a west Charlotte nightclub involving an armed security guard was deemed justified, according to a report from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.Around 2 a.m., officers responded to ‘Flirt’ on the 4800 block of Wilkinson Blvd about an assault with a deadly weapon. When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.
Police say the victim got into an altercation with armed security when he was shot. According to the report, the shooting was justified.

1 shot at Jefferson County bingo hall

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — A security guard allegedly shot an employee at a Jefferson County bingo hall Monday morning.According to Henry Irby with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the bingo hall at 5712 Chalkville Rd. after 5 a.m. on a report of a person shot. At the scene, deputies found a male employee suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Center Point Fire District personnel transported the victim to UAB Hospital. He was diagnosed with not life-threatening injuries.
Irby stated the JCSO’s preliminary investigation shows there was a verbal fight between the employee and a male security guard. The guard then allegedly shot the victim. The guard stayed at the scene and was cooperative with deputies.
