Wait, wait, wait… Hold on a second. Are you trying to tell me that the Department of Defense is a department of the federal government whose purpose is defense?
Get out!

Slow Joe

Yes. That guy is crazy! He just said he will make the military a more effective and lethal force. So much violence. I miss the days when the job of the military was to create jobs.

KoB

Does this mean that the 69th Intersectional Dildo Division will be de-activated? Has DOGE cut out the funding for the Solar and Wind Powered Charging Systems for their Tools of Battle? Oh, the humanity! Have Unicorn Farts been classified as “Weapons of Mass Destruction”? Have my stocks in Cotton Candy Futures tanked? The Fighting Fairies…weep.

Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neanderthal

Whatever happened to all that biofuel that was supposed to replace petroleum fuel, and cost 10x the amount?

11B-Mailclerk

Biden pardoned the Good Idea Fairy.

Not to mention… apologies to Harry Chapin:

That’s really quite sad. Hunter had, maybe still has, quite a few advantages and opportunities in life. Some may blame all his problems on the drugs, but it’s a bit more than that.

Does this mean there will be no fully electric main battle battle tanks? And no mobile charging stations operated by diesel generators? Plus, what will happen with the 69th Trannie Infantry Regiment? Will their addadicktome surgeries be cancelled? Inquiring mindless Progs need to know?

Anonymous

Aww, I was so looking forward to electric MBTs pulling a JP-8 powered generator that would take an additional 12 hours to change ’em up before doing sh*t that the old, nasty JP-8 burning MBTs wouldn’t need! /Sarc

Every good paying defense industry job I had kept both
me and my countrymen safe. The work was interesting,
paid well with good benefits and left me comfortably
retired with a good pension. I even got to be in a real war.
What’s not to like?

I remember when Barry made it the military’s “primary mission” to weed out sexual harassment in the military.

Soldiers stopped being soldiers.

Combatives training slowed to a crawl because someone might accidentally get offended by the idea of being “mounted.”

The best cadences stopped being called.

What respect had been earned by individual females was completely undermined as they became viewed, as a whole, as irredeemably weak and less-than real soldiers.

I was a student at DLI at the time, and we careerist NCOs were forced to go into the barracks and physically confiscate and pour out any alcohol that was (until then legally) possessed by the IET students. No grace period, no possibility of compensation – a few had bottles of scotch or brandy worth hundreds of dollars that they were saving for graduation, dumped unceremoniously into the grass by the more apparatchik NCOs.
I didn’t like feeling like a Pinkerton – it took me a few trips, hoping my pants cuffs stayed bloused as I waddled to my car – but I compensated every single private I could for the entire cost of all the booze that went into my personal collection. Once I’d saved as much of the good stuff as I could, I went home. None of this was good for morale, but I tried to stop the bleeding as much as I could.

Amazes me every day when I see how locked-down today’s AIT Soldiers are. No alcohol, no tobacco, restricted to post for the most part. In 1988, we could drink and smoke (just not in the barracks) and we ran amok in Augusta from the Friday safety brief until Sunday GI party time. Now they’re in jail and every inch of the barracks outside of their rooms is under video surveillance.

Hate_me

I went through OSUT in 1997, so it was total control all the way through (smoking was still allowed, I think, but that was it). I don’t have an issue with that.

Granted, this was as a 12B and AIT was only 5 weeks at the time.

These DLI kids weren’t even in AIT yet – between Basic and AIT, they had to endure 18 months of language school. Even with 15 years of military experience and all the freedoms that came with it, that was the most stressful training (not physically, but mentally/emotionally) I’d ever endured – it was so much more stressful for them. They all had (or were pending) TS/SCI and, though they were absolutely the dumbest smart kids I’ve ever met, they were trusted to a pretty high degree. They absolutely deserved a drink to unwind at the end of the day.

“outside of their rooms”

Privacy? Quel luxe!
“No alcohol, no tobacco, restricted to post for the most part.”
Ah, good times.
And restricted to post was, for all intents and purposes, restricted to barracks.

Jimbojszz

I remember they had beer dispensing beverage machines at Augusta/Ft Gordon in 79. No one cared where you smoked as long as you didn’t litter. Field strip the butts. Go downtown by the bus station if you wanted to get robbed. As least I did.

Liberals feel military people are retarded children who “couldn’t get a job anywhere else” and treat them that way.

Very true, while at the same time the vast majority of liberals wouldn’t even make it out of Reception Battalion, let alone make it through the first week of basic!

Not a big fan of the guy but I will give credit where credit is due.

Pretty bad ass and common sense approach right there.

rgr769

Ditto. Plus I read his book; he gets it.

HT3

Quite the ‘about face’ from the previous regime. I think that’s the whole point.

Fyrfighter

Nah, the media wouldn’t ignore something that makes them look like the biased, partisan shills they are… would they?

A Proud Infidel®™

What, no more forced DEI programs, special treatment for “trans” Personnel, etcetera, then focusing on training for killing enemies and breaking things in wartime? Ahh, what a breath of fresh air, I look forward to the US Military being “un-Bidened”!

11B-Mailclerk

The military has been un-Bidened of what was burdensome.

Hate_me

I can’t say I’m too happy to see the term “badass” used in an official message, but as far as criticisms go…

11B-Mailclerk

I want to hear “Let them hate, so long as they fear.”

(Grin)

Hate_me

“Nuts!” will always be my favorite official military address.

Hate_me

Probably can’t say that, anymore.

Insensitive to nazis’ feelings, you know.
