Two teen girls accused of car-jacking and killing Uber Eats driver in D.C. ‘reach plea deal ensuring they’ll not be held past age of 21 or go to prison’

Two girls, ages 13 and 15, who were charged with the murder and carjacking of a Pakistani immigrant killed last month while working at his job delivering food in Washington, DC, have reportedly reached a plea deal with prosecutors.

Mohammad Anwar, 66, died when police said the girls, armed with a taser, sped off in his car as he clung to the driver’s side with the door open and crashed seconds later just outside the ballpark of the Washington Nationals.

On Monday, the teens reportedly reached the plea deal with prosecutors that would ensure they will not be held past the age of 21 nor be placed in a prison facility.

Last week, the teens appeared via video in DC Superior Court as their lawyer and prosecutor, Bonnie Lindemann, discussed the case with Judge Lynn Leibovitz.

According to The Washington Post, Lindemann gave no indication that her office would try to transfer the older teen’s case to adult court. Under DC law, the 13-year-old could not be prosecuted as an adult due to her age.

The judge set the next court date for April 20 to discuss the status of the case.

A video of the incident shows the encounter unfolding in a minute and a half, ending with Anwar’s Honda Accord on its side, the girls climbing out and a fatally injured Anwar sprawled and motionless on the sidewalk.

Police have not identified the juvenile suspects, one of whom is from the DC and the other is from neighboring Fort Washington, Maryland.

Anwar, who lived in suburban Springfield, Virginia, was at his delivery job for Uber Eats when he was killed.

The 90-second clip begins with Anwar struggling to regain control of his car after the two girls made their way inside.

‘They’re thieves,’ he is heard saying as he attempts to pull the girl out of the driver seat of the parked car. ‘This is my car!’

The teen suddenly accelerates, sending the car speeding down the 1200 block of Van Street SE with Anwar still clinging on to the driver side’s door.

At one point, the car is seen smashing into a metal fence from its left side, crushing the delivery driver between the barrier and car door.

As the car continues to speed off into the distance, a screeching sound is heard followed by a loud crash.

The bystander filming the incident runs over to the site of the crash to find the car rolled over and the two girls climbing out of the wreckage.

Anwar’s body can be seen lying motionless on the corner on the sidewalk, as witnesses scramble to get help.

Two National Guardsmen who were in the area removed the juvenile suspects from the overturned car and detained them until police responded to the scene and arrested them.

Anwar was eventually rushed to a hospital but could not be saved. He was ejected onto the sidewalk and sustained fatal injuries, including head trauma and broken bones.

He was described in a GoFundMe post as ‘a hard-working Pakistani immigrant who came to the United States to create a better life for him and his family’.

The GoFundMe campaign, launched on behalf of his family, had raised more than $1million to cover the costs of a funeral and to provide for his survivors.

‘Anwar was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend who always provided a smile when you needed one,’ the family said.

‘Words can not describe how our family is feeling currently. Devastation, confusion, shock, anger, heartache, and anguish are just a few that come to mind.’

The owner of a brand new American muscle car was arrested an hour after leaving the dealership lot.

According to a statement issued by the California Highway Patrol, a Ford Mustang GT driver was arrested after being caught on radar speeding at 139 mph in a newly purchased Mustang on a roadway in California.

The patrol reported that the driver recklessly passed other motorists before being stopped by a Specially Marked Patrol Vehicle. The vehicle, allegedly bought just an hour prior, was impounded.

The CHP emphasized their commitment to removing reckless drivers from the roads, stating, “They pose a great risk to themselves and everyone they share the roadway with.”

A McLaren 675LT was destroyed in a violent crash after leaving a Cars and Coffee event this weekend, ending the morning gathering with a serious accident involving one of McLaren’s most track-focused road cars.

The crash occurred shortly after the event concluded, as the white McLaren was seen driving away on a public roadway. A video shared on social media captures the moments leading up to the incident before abruptly cutting to the aftermath. The footage shows the severely damaged remains of the supercar resting against a parked semi-truck, with debris scattered across the scene.

Gun jams as shoplifting suspect tries to shoot Ohio police officer at point-blank range in wild bodycam video

Heart-pounding video shows the moment a shoplifting suspect allegedly tried to shoot an Ohio police officer at point-blank range inside a Walmart only to be stopped when his gun appeared to malfunction and a store security worker intervened.

The dramatic incident unfolded Thursday in Canton after the suspect and a woman were detained for allegedly stealing items from the store, according to reports.

The pair were taken to a security room, where a police officer is seen questioning and searching the male suspect, identified as Shane Newman, 21, by FOX 8.

Video from the officer’s body camera, which had been placed on a table, initially showed a calm scene, with a Walmart employee handing the officer a pen and paper as the two suspects sat on a bench.

Moments later, the situation exploded.

Newman suddenly turned, pulled out a gun and attempted to shoot the officer as the woman screamed, “No, no, no!” A clicking sound could be heard as Newman apparently pulled the trigger.

The Walmart worker immediately jumped on Newman in an effort to restrain him, but Newman raised the gun again and attempted to fire a second time and another click could be heard.

The worker then knocked the gun from Newman’s hands as the officer drew his weapon and shouted, “Get back! Get back!”

The officer then took control of matters and pinned Newman to the floor until additional police arrived. Both suspects were taken into custody.

In the bodycam footage, the officer told responding police Newman had “pulled the gun out, pointed it at my head and pulled the trigger,” but the weapon did not fire.

The officer said he drew his own weapon and would have shot Newman but feared hitting the Walmart employee as the worker struggled to disarm the suspect. He also acknowledged missing the gun concealed in Newman’s shoulder bag during the initial search.

The officer said he had just been alerted seconds before the attack that Newman had an active warrant for his arrest and was classified as “armed and dangerous.”

Newman was charged with attempted murder and felonious assault on a police officer, court records show.

The woman, identified as Katerina Jeffrey, was charged with complicity to commit robbery and having weapons under disability for possession of ammunition, FOX 8 reported.

Before the violence erupted, the police officer asked Newman if he had anything on him as part of the search. Newman said all he had was a cellphone, and then he voluntarily handed over a small container from his pocket that investigators said contained illegal drugs, according to FOX 8.

“Are we going to jail?” Jeffrey asked the police officer.

“Not unless something crazy happens,” the officer replied.
