Trump: US ‘locked and loaded and ready to intervene’ if Iran starts killing protesters
President Donald Trump took to Truth Social and warned Iran to not kill peaceful protesters. Trump said that if Iran violently kills peaceful protesters, the US would come to their rescue. Trump also declared that we’re “locked and loaded and ready to go.” Ali Larijani, secretary for Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, warned that US interference would risk the region’s stability.
From Fox News:
Ali Larijani, a former parliament speaker who serves as the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, pushed back on Trump’s post, writing on X that, “With the statements by Israeli officials and Donald Trump, what has been going on behind the scenes is now clear. We distinguish between the stance of the protesting shopkeepers and the actions of disruptive actors, and Trump should know that U.S. interference in this internal matter would mean destabilizing the entire region and destroying America’s interests.”
“The American people should know — Trump started this adventurism. They should be mindful of their soldiers’ safety,” Larijani added.
The threat came after Iran launched an attack on Al-Udeid, the American airbase in Qatar, in June 2025. The base is home to 10,000 American forces and is the U.S.’s largest military installation in the Middle East. Located southwest of Doha, it serves as a hub for logistical operations for the U.S. mission to fight ISIS in Iraq and Syria.
At the time, Iran vowed to retaliate against the U.S. after American B-2 bombers dropped 14 bunker buster bombs on three Iranian nuclear sites.
In the recent Iranian demonstrations, some of the most severe violence has been reported in western Iran, where videos circulating online appeared to show fires burning in streets and the sound of gunfire during nighttime protests.
“We are to blame… Do not look for America or anyone else to blame. We must serve properly so that people are satisfied with us…. It is us who have to find a solution to these problems,” Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Thursday, according to Reuters.

“The American people should know — Trump started this adventurism. They should be mindful of their soldiers’ safety,” Larijani added.
Buddy, we could take out your Navy and Air Force in 45 minutes, your leadership and communications in the next 20, and leave your entire Army immobilized.
Then we could send in a Den of Cub Scouts to occupy Tehran.
Trump started this?
Was it when he bombed the World Trade Center, Beirut, or when?
The Persians have long memories. Some are still butt hurt by the Greeks turning the table on them.
Yeah, as I recall, the mullahs banned the move 300…
One thing you have to give to the rag-heads, they actually remember history – when it shows (or they think they show) their beliefs to be superior.

The Arab Spring was a perfect opportunity for Washington D.C. to engage with those countries in a way that would lead to their moving more towards Democracy. This would’ve contributed to the improvement of conditions in Northern Africa and many middle eastern countries. Obama dropped the ball on that opportunity.
Obama failed to support Iran’s freedom protesters two decades ago, but Trump just rectified that
This is one of the few times are kind of agree with Trump.
I have been saying for years we need to stop treating Iran as an enemy of the US and focus on the regime being an only of the US while making it clear we support the people of Iran.
Backing the people against the regime is a key to turning Iran into a US partner in the ME.
However, Iran is an extremely nationalistic country, so we have to tread lightly and be very careful not to get involved on the ground because it might trigger Iranian nationalism against the US.
I am also worried Trump will say something asinine. He keeps saying things about taking control of countries. If he says that about Iran he could trigger anti-US nationalism and make a mess out of a potential win for the US with the collapse of the regime and potential for a more US friendly regime moving forward.
