Sad Memorial Day in Grapevine
The combination of idiot on jet ski vs. ‘normal’ boater turned lethal Sunday, killing a U.S. Air Force Preparatory School student home in Ft. Worth, TX on leave.
Ava Moore, 18, was killed when a watercraft with two female occupants struck her as she was kayaking on Grapevine Lake on the evening of Sunday, May 25, Texas Game Wardens said in a news release shared on Facebook.
One of the two jet-skiers stuck around to talk to police. The driver of the jet ski allegedly fled.
A female passenger remained to speak with first responders, while the operator of the jet ski allegedly fled the scene in a car with an adult man. The pair then struck a vehicle as they were leaving the area, per the news release. The Grapevine Police Department is investigating the automotive incident.
The suspect and the man allegedly abandoned the car at the Cobblestone apartments at Ruth Wall and Turner Road, local outlet WFAA reported. Meanwhile, Moore was pulled from the water by witnesses and died after being rushed to the hospital.
Lisa Scrabeck, a witness who helped to provide aid, told CBS News Texas that Moore had been wearing a life jacket, which was removed before CPR began.
“She didn’t suffer in agony,” Scrabeck said of Moore, per CBS News Texas. “It’s very tragic, and I extend my deepest condolences to the family. I can’t imagine being the parents of this young girl. But one thing I can say is that she didn’t suffer from the moment I saw her.”

They should have her name from the co-rider… one hopes she is arrested quickly. After leaving her victim to drown and fleeing the scene – hopefully she will find out soon that orange goes well with – nobody.
Moore had “just returned from Colorado Springs after finishing her 1st year at the Air Force Preparatory School,” according to a GoFundMe page. She had previously been an “outstanding student and athlete” at Timber Creek High School.
The basketball player helped the Lady Falcons to a 71-51 mark across four years, including a 24-10 record in 2022 during her sophomore year and a 17-14 mark during her senior season, Sports Illustrated reported.People

See and here I was the other day telling you how all Hispanics are trained by their governments to flee any and all accidents and we have a threefer. Odds are pretty high she was drunk which is another reason to flee and she will not see any real justice. Her parents, when their daughter’s killer was still on the lam, issued a statement where they were also praying for the family of the girl who killed their daughter.
Good folks there, to feel for the other family who was also touched by this tragedy.
Something tells me that ‘pain and anguish’ is not part of the other families’ experience, but should be.

But still, full justice must be served.
When I was still officed by The Walls (the location of the death chamber) an execution was scheduled for a lady who had murdered someone years before and received the death penalty.
While in prison, she became a practicing Christian (as differentiated from a convenience-Christian who carries a Bible for the parole officers) – and led others to Christ.
When the time came for her execution, there were those who argued that she should be pardoned because Christ had pardoned her sins. But the reality was that all sin has a consequence – and the consequence for violating the law against murder is to be executed therefor. And she was. As I understand it, she was also accepting of her punishment as right and just.
Oh, the media-and-gawker circus we had to endure, though. Disgusting on many, many different levels.

I agree that the young lady should receive due process. She is currently an illegal alien, and likely her family now is worried they will be targeted for deportation. Guess they should have learned the laws of country they wanted to be in, and maybe read the warning labels all over the thing they were playing with, before they reached this point.
Now Ms. Gonzalez Gonzalez will be allowed to stay in our fine country. For at least 18-30 years based on what her peers decide is fair and just. Whomever the male adult that aided and abetted her will also receive some accommodations for a few years as well. The rest of her family will get a free plane flight back home. Hopefully they will learn from this example. If not, I am sure we will hear their lawyer squawking on the news.

From what I read in some online commentary, the female passenger was essentially detained by bystanders. She didn’t remain of her own free will.
