Suspect shot, critically injured in robbery outside of east Birmingham restaurant

By Carol Robinson
A suspect was critically injured when police say he tried to rob someone outside an east Birmingham restaurant.

The shooting happened shortly after 9:30 p.m. in the 7700 block of First Avenue North.

The scene was outside Boston Fish Wings & Things.

Sgt. LaQuitta Wade said two males tried to rob a man. The robbery victim fired shots, striking at least one of the suspects.

The suspect was taken to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Wade said though he is critical, he is stable.

Police radio communications said the male was shot in the face, but officers have not confirmed that information.

The shooter left the scene but called 911 and police are in contact with him.

The second suspect had not been located as of 11 p.m. One caller reported to police they saw a male with blood on him walking in the area.

Man killed in Tom Hopkins Road shooting identified

by: Theresa Grundman, Chad Petri
MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — A man shot dead in a Sunday morning shooting has been identified.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office responded to the dead end of Tom Hopkins Road Sunday at about 1:51 a.m. in reference to a shooting, a MCSO news release said.

When officers arrived, they found two people with gunshot wounds. A juvenile was taken to the hospital and is still in critical condition. Jaylon Rivers, 19, was taken by a family member to a home, where he later died.

A neighbor told News 5 that the incident began as a graduation party up the road, but moved to the end of the cul-de-sac, where a fight broke out.

According to the release, witnesses at the scene told deputies the juvenile and Rivers began arguing, and Rivers allegedly fired multiple shots at the juvenile. The juvenile reportedly returned fire, killing Rivers, the release said.

DUPLIN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – No charges have been filed after Duplin County deputies say a man was shot and killed while trying to break into a home Sunday morning.

It happened on Sheffield Road near Magnolia around 6:30 a.m.

Deputies were told David White was using an ax, trying to break in through the back door.

A news release says the homeowners fired multiple shots through the door, hitting White. Deputies say they found the man lying on his back at the bottom of the steps with multiple gunshot wounds.

They say a large ax and other weapons were near White’s body.

Deputies say after consulting with the D.A.’s office, no charges are being brought against the homeowners at this time.

Using an ax, and got shot and killed for his trouble.
And no wonder! He was SO rude and didn’t ax politely first if he could come in to play.

“Ax me no questions and I’ll tell you no lies…” Some Ms Thang, probably. Paul Bunyon was unavailable for comment. Neither is that dumbass. Not the first time some idiot took an ax to a gunfight, but we can add dead dood to the T2NB2AGF Binder page. Tarheel!

Maybe if the family member had of taken Jaylon to a hospital instead of to a home, he mighta made it…or not. Imma gonna go out on a limb here and say we have a case of the trash taking out the trash. Good chance the “juvie” will grace these pages again.

I like the Custom LW much better, as well. Might even be less speedy, too.

Reports say David White had been observed saying “here’s Johnny” over and over again as he purchased the axe at a local hardware story.

Something poetic about Jaylon Rivers finding himself “at the dead end of Tom Hopkins Road”.

One thing, some fellow taking an ax to the door gives one some time to unlimber a shotgun in preparation. Or other firearm of one’s choice. Sounds like the homeowners were both/all armed and working on a mag dump through the door. Put a definite “No Admittance” in place.

I guess that Kimber 2K11 Target is ok, but a bit spendy for my pocketbook. I’m not so into race-shooting as to want to shell that out.
