2 suspected home invaders injured, arrested following shootout with Los Banos homeowner, police say

A violent home invasion is rocking residents in Los Banos.

“It was very scary,” Sergio Juarez tells Action News. He says the neighborhood is usually quiet.

But overnight, residents heard gunshots as police say five armed men forced their way into a home at Edward Street near San Luis Street.

“At least four people inside the residence, and, thankfully, none of them were injured,” Police Chief Ray Reyna said.

The homeowner approached the intruders with a gun he legally owns,” Reyna said. It led to an exchange of gunfire.

“The homeowner did arm himself and was able to shoot two of the suspects – two of the five suspects, injuring them,” he said.

Scanner audio captured the injuries as police responded.

“One patient will have a (gunshot wound) to the leg, the second patient (gunshot wound) to the stomach,” a dispatcher broadcast.

Those suspects are now in custody at a Modesto area hospital, where they are expected to survive.

Police are still searching for three others. They got out of the home through a bedroom window before escaping in a car.

Attacked by 5 and he sends two to the hospital and the rest in the wind. That homeowner is a BAMF.

Alarm system alerts homeowner to burglar before shooting, Houston police say
Police said the 50-year-old homeowner and his pregnant wife were at home when they heard beeping and their alarm going off.

HOUSTON — A man shot another man who broke into his garage and wife’s car Friday night, according to the Houston Police Department.

This happened around 11 p.m. on Kelving Street, which is near the intersection of Kirby Drive and W Holcombe Boulevard.

Police said the 50-year-old homeowner and his pregnant wife were at home when they heard beeping and their alarm going off. The homeowner grabbed his handgun and went to check it out.

When he got to the garage, he noticed the door had been opened. That’s when he found a man inside his wife’s car in the driveway.

The man got out of the wife’s car and started moving down the driveway. Houston police said the homeowner told him to stop. According to HPD, it was dark outside and the man made a quick movement, prompting the homeowner to open fire twice, hitting the man once in the arm and once in the leg.

The homeowner yelled at his wife to call 911 and get help as he stayed with the man.

The Houston Fire Department quickly arrived to the scene and brought the man to an area hospital where he is expected to survive. He is expected to face burglary charges.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office will investigate this incident to determine whether any charges will be filed on the homeowner.

KHOU!

No charges filed yet and KHOU is there! Thanks, Gun Bunny.

Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human liberty; it is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.

A shoulder fired artillery, in a caliber starting with a “4”, worthy of defending KoB’s north wall.
That is, if Gun Bunny can afford either the FA piece and/or the ammunition.
I wonder what the modern-day equivalent for range and stopping power would be, that’s more common and more affordable?

Welp, Tox, The Gun Bunny could probably afford this outstanding design of HMS, JMB (HBHN), and the cartridges for it. Hell, I gots money, I don’t have a wife. I even have enough pieces and parts, with fiddly bits, laying around Fire Base Magnolia to build a nice Prime Mover…with caisson. Howsomever, the idea is to DEFEND The North Wall, NOT blow holes thru it and/or weaken it from that type of Earth Shattering KA-BOOM. ‘sides all that, ten (10) large would also purchase a considerable amount of foo gas, serious putty, sticks of Mr. Nobel’s invention, or even a very nice reproduction 3 inch Ordnance/Parrot Gun for sho’nuff “Reach out and touch” feelers. Plus that kind of fiat currency would go a long way to replacing the Class VI Supplies that the d’weeded Deplorables consume while they are paying Homage to The King of Battle…THE King of FIRST!

In re today’s FGS, the Armed citizens may have some more difficulty. Commiefornia is proposing a bill to outlaw “self defense” and we all know about the Harris County DA.

I will not plea for my liberty but will do whatever is necessary to resist tyrants. Can’t do a whole lot about being a tax slave but I will not become a physical slave.

A former neighbor, from another lifetime, was a biker and a butcher. He made pretty good money and enjoyed many toys including powerful rifles.

There was a well worn teflon butcher block in his bike shack that served many purposes. Being as large as it was, he resolved that it would certainly be able to stop a round from one of those rifles.

The teflon table did no stop that round, if anything it accelerated it right through his Harley, out the back wall of the shack and no one ever found out where it ended up but I doubt if it ever left the neighborhood behind him.

He still has an FFL and many toys but that Harley had to have a new top end. He repaired it himself.

M-1 Garand,
Converted to .458 Winchester Magnum. Uses the same clips as .30.

Some were hand built a while back, but do exist.

Someone give KoB some smelling salts.

I can’t remember if this has been covered on TAH before or not.
Seems pretty effed up.

IIRC, there were some incidents of arrests that were subsequently adjudicated in favor of the arrestee yet the local command still wanted to signify.

That was before computers and cellphones and internet like systems.

I only know a couple of Spanish words, cerveza and banos. Well, maybe banos doesn’t mean “bathroom” in Mexican but cerveza has been reliable, when necessary.
