Toy gun-wielding teenager shot after allegedly attempting to rob armed Pennsylvania man
Police say 16-year-old used toy gun that was recovered from crime scene

Greg Wehner
A toy gun-wielding teenager was shot in Philadelphia on Sunday night after allegedly attempting to rob a man who was carrying a loaded gun.

Police said the 16-year-old and another suspect approached a man and his girlfriend on the 2200 block of Emerald Street at about 11 p.m. on Sunday, according to FOX 29 in Philadelphia.

One of the suspects allegedly pressed a weapon into the man’s back before demanding his keys, wallet and other valuables.

Unbeknownst to the suspects, the man they were robbing was armed with a legal firearm, police said, and he opened fire on the two suspects, striking the 16-year-old in the leg.

A preliminary investigation found the weapon used by the teenager was a toy gun, which was recovered at the scene.

That went well.

Homeowner, 76, shoots alleged trespasser in Fort Worth, police say
The shooting occurred on Museum Way.

By Lana Ferguson
An altercation early Monday led to a Fort Worth homeowner shooting a man who was allegedly trespassing on his property, authorities said.

Officers responded shortly before 3:30 a.m. to a house in the 2600 block of Museum Way near Picasso Drive.

The 76-year-old homeowner told police a man came onto his property and assaulted him, so he shot him, according to a news release. The 27-year-old man who was shot was taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

Police said the younger man threw a rock at the homeowner and the homeowner shot the man in the leg, KDFW-TV (Channel 4) reported.

Toys and rocks to gun fights, with predictable results. Thanks Gun Bunny.

Finally, is not liberty the restricting of the law only to its rational sphere of organizing the right of the individual to lawful self-defense; of punishing injustice?

Oh, boy, a two-fer.
First, a toy gun to a gun fight. FAFO. What did the teen think was going to possibly happen? Oh, that’s right, he didn’t think. Dumbass.
And second up, a rock to a gun fight. We may have had that already, but I don’t recall right now at pre-dawn pre-caffeine oh-dark-too-damned-early.
Additions to the 3″ three ring loose leaf binder set of T2NB2AGF have been getting scarce lately, seems we’ve already documented most of the usual suspects. And criminals have been proving themselves SO unimaginative lately.
So, well done, Gun Bunny, ya done good today. (Pats on head, rumples hair)

Awww (kicks rock) Shucks. Just got lucky, Tox. TPTB seem to burying FGS a bit deeper, sticking them in the news feeds later in the evening, and making them go “poof” a lot quicker. More and more are being hidden behind paywalls. The struggle can be real. And one can just about forget about finding an update. Will the next thing to make “The Binder” be a Pet Rock…in the shape of a gun? A toy gun rock if you will? Maybe we need to pass some Common Sense Toy and Rock Laws?

We now have so many areas where your right to defend yourself is restricted more than the “rights” of the perps. The duck’s foot would come in handy if one were to be attacked by a flock of, well you know…ducks.

Some escort duty coming up today. Maybe the K Roger has restocked from being stripped of goods before Helene hit.

Maybe we need to pass some Common Sense Toy and Rock Laws? Sounds good Gun Bunny, but the peeps that make laws will just toy around and rock around the clock taking their time.

Sure, a duck foot pistol may have been a comfort to use in a riot situation.
But how do you carry one around on a daily basis? Any holster would have been bulky. Ditto a pocket. And it looks just plain heavy.

Contrast with a longsword.
