Let’s talk about Autumn Cordellionè. (If trying to emulate “The Godfather”, it’s misspelled.) Born Jonathan Richardson, Autumn is serving a 55 year sentence for strangling his 11 month old step-daughter in 2001.
Okay, that right there puts me on the other side of the fence – he/she could stop a bullet meant for the Pope and I’d still not like he/sheit.
Back to the actual article…I’ll try to stop frothing at the mouth.
The inmate has sought sex reassignment surgery, including an orchiectomy and vaginoplasty, arguing it is the “only remedy” to treat “persistent gender dysphoria”.
The state of Indiana prohibits its prison service from funding gender reassignment surgeries for its inmates.
But the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) sued the Indiana Department of Corrections on Cordellionè’s behalf, arguing the state law violated the Eighth Amendment’s prohibition of “cruel and unusual punishment”.
The lawsuit, first brought in 2023, said Cordellionè has identified as a woman since the age of six but was only diagnosed with gender dysphoria in 2020 and has been prescribed female hormones and testosterone blockers.
Cordellionè has “consistently taken” the hormone medications ever since and has been receiving other accommodations behind bars in an all-male facility, including women’s “panties, make-up, and form-fitting clothing”, the lawsuit said.
Court filings revealed Cordellionè has a history of self-harm, including an attempted castration.
We’re almost back on the same page – I could get behind that idea, and while I have a fetish about keeping my knives clean and sharp, I know people who have rusty dull ones which could be borrowed. We can get this handled, right?
But note the timing – he commits the crime in 2001, but suddenly in 2020 discovers dysphoria since childhood….how convenient.
The ACLU argued the next step of receiving sex reassignment surgery, or gender-affirming surgery, was “a medical necessity”.
“She believes that the only remedy for her persistent gender dysphoria, and the serious harm it causes her, is to receive gender-affirming surgery, specifically an orchiectomy and vaginoplasty,” it said in court filings.
Ah, so the dysphoria is at the root of his murder? Didn’t Flip Wilson wear out “The Devil made me do that!” 50 years ago?
A federal judge in Indiana has now agreed that denying the surgery would be unconstitutional.
“Specifically, Ms Cordellione has shown that her gender dysphoria is a serious medical need, and that, despite other treatments … provided her to treat her gender dysphoria, she requires gender-affirming surgery to prevent a risk of serious bodily and psychological harm,” Judge Richard Young said in his ruling.
He ordered Indiana’s Department of Corrections to take “all reasonable actions” to ensure the killer receives the sex reassignment surgery.
Yep, boys and girls (and you confused folks too) YOU get to pay for it. Taxpayer funded, baby! It is worth noting that the Indiana AG (Todd Rokita, R) disagrees with the decision and says Indiana will appeal.
I know it’s a shock, but Young is a Clinton appointee. “Let’s keep him from cutting his d*ck off by cutting his d*ck off!”

According to Fox News, Cordellionè filed a separate lawsuit last year against a prison chaplain for allegedly preventing the inmate from wearing a hijab outside of a cell despite identifying as a Muslim woman. The Telegraph

Lets incrementally fund the orchiectomy first and down the road in a different fiscal year fund the next. That will also cut the cost of testosterone blockers and give it time to flush it from its system.
The solution is simple… people sometimes die on the operating table or don’t wake up from anesthesia. It’s right there in the fine print when you sign the consent forms…
Pharmaceutical companies don’t like providing anesthesia drugs to prisons. Because sometimes they use them for executions. So I think that this type of surgery should be performed without anesthesia.
I will gladly fund pee-pee chops for any and all baby killers in the penal system, whether they want it or not.
Just finished reading “Stop the Madness” by Ex Federal Judge Sol Wachtler. In this memoir the judge was sent ended to a Fed Max prison for the crime of harassment’s. Turns out he was bi-polar. He describes the conditions that he was placed in the denial of medical care, free time, be place in solidary for little or no reasons.
If the prison system can do this to a ex fed judge, that the foo-foo guy can arrange to be put into solidary , furnished with a sharper object, than let nature take its course BZ
On a side note Hijabs and other religious headgear are ideal for hiding contraband which is one reason why the jailhouse conversions are so popular.
A 39 cent injection would cure its gender reassignment. All it takes is a Glock or S&W applicator injecting it in the base of the skull. Problem solved.
