I don’t often use the term “scary”, but that clip shows a pandering, cackling tool that has a good chance of being installed as our President in a few months. And let’s just be honest, if she “wins” in November, she’ll get a second term, so long as our nation is still intact as we know it. Much like Obama, the establishment isn’t going to allow a First to serve a single term. Unless, of course, she’s just opening the door for the next one. Maybe Rachel Levine will take a page from another Rachel (Dolezal) and become the first Black Transgender Woman President. When’s the last time a former GO/FO was President? Eisenhower? ADM Levine should at least be made President of the Navy.

I started buying air movers eight years ago, when I lived in a loft apartment in Columbus, GA. They helped keep me and the lab cool. Most of mine are B-Air, but I have a Ridgid similar to this one: RIDGID 1625 CFM 3-Speed Blower Fan Air Mover with Daisy Chain, 3 Operating Positions for Water Damage Restoration AM2287 – The Home Depot. That’s run more or less nonstop in the bedroom for the past six years, minus the occasional move and cleaning. I like the airflow, and I like the noise.
When I’m sleeping elsewhere, I use one of these: RYOBI ONE+ 18V Cordless 4 in. Clamp Fan (Tool Only) PCF02B – The Home Depot. Getting ready for the non-event (in my neighborhood) that was Hurricane Francine last week, I collected all the Ryobi batteries I could find and had a few of the clamp fans, the larger hybrid fan, and about 12 batteries on standby. I also pulled both of my window ACs out of the shed in case I needed them for the house, had one of the new generators gassed up, and had a reserve of 30 gallons of gas. We didn’t lose power for even a minute, and I had the big trees in the backyard cut down months ago, finally lighting a massive bonfire last month that only left a few some massive, charred logs. We did hear a tree fall in the woods behind us, but no threat to the house.
In short, I’m a fan of fans.

I watched that this morning. How nice of the VFW to allow inmates to not only join, but to have their own prison post. The character of the post’s leadership is indicative of what the VFW’s values are, I guess.
I wanted to comment on AC’s video, but didn’t have time (imagine that, given my long-windedness), and knew it would be quickly buried in the comments section. Those of us who’ve served in any capacity have probably heard the term “hero to zero”. The stud NCO who earned a BSM/V in Iraq, just graduated Ranger School, and is the darling of the company gets a DUI over the weekend? Well, he done messed up. He might recover from his error in judgement over time, but the Golden Child is up shit creek for a while, at least.
I dare say that no amount of military service can make up for murder, crimes against children, or crimes of a sexual nature. Tying these convicts to the VFW further stains the already soiled reputation of the organization (what with so many phonies discovered to be holding leadership positions–Satah Cavanaugh, anyone?). I’ve been a Life Member since 2004 but don’t take any kind of active role in the VFW, and likely will never do so. I don’t want to be associated with criminals and frauds, so I’ll stick to my own little bit of turf.
Right on! I join the VFW and my service was never verified. I was asked for documents a few years after joining. As it turns out the adjutant was stealing funds and they decided to start verifying people to get the house in order. No charges filed for embezzlement. No publicity. Swept under the rug. Post had to close. I now belong to a different post now and attend rarely. I have no trust in the group. So this is what they want the VFW to become. The VFW needs to adhere to some standards of character as well as service requirements. They could start with not accepting criminals in to the group…verify!
