Army Veteran smashes tattoo and body modification records

Esperance Lumineska Fuerzina is a very decorated Army veteran, in the form of tattoos and body modifications. Fuerzina, 36, is decorated from head to toe with both tattoos and body modifications. One of her body modifications is a split tongue. Fuerzina recognizes that she is not adhering to traditional beauty standards; however, she feels that having these tattoos and modifications is liberating.

Furthermore, with 89 body alterations, the Army veteran greatly surpassed the previous record for most body modifications (female) – a title that had remained unbroken for over a decade.
Esperance snatched the title with 40 body mods more than the previous holder, the Mexican Maria José Cristerna, who broke the record in 2012 with 49 body mods and extensive tattoo coverage.
Before her first body alteration, Esperance had already experimented with body suspension several times.
Esperance’s first body modification was a split tongue, in 2014.
Ten years and two world records after that first split tongue, Esperance’s remarkable body mods range from “classic” body piercings to more creative alterations, such as tissue-stretching mods and tattooing her eyeballs and gums.
At the time of writing, she flaunts 15 subdermal implants, several facial mods such as septum and lip piercings, and she removed both her nipples.
She has injected her split tongue with ink, as well as her gums, and her collection includes five facial implants.
Some of the most delicate areas of her body have been altered, too, with 18 genital piercings and inner labia dyed by ink injections.
“I think it’s obvious I’m not trying to adhere to traditional beauty standards, and that can be both liberating and also something many people don’t understand and can be negative about,” Esperance confesses.

Here, however, I say she is an adult and (assumedly) capable of making her own decisions. To paraphrase Hall’s Voltaire: Though I disagree with what she chooses to do to her own body, I shall defend to my death her right to do so. Sad? Perhaps, but she is the ultimate arbiter of her own happiness. Mentally ill? There are people who drive alone and masked in their cars who claim the rest of us are all insane; she’s not hurting anyone else and I’m not convinced she’s hurting herself.
It can be extremely difficult to find meaningful purpose after taking off the uniform; if forking her tongue is what keeps her from tasting her gun, I’ll happily accept that trade.

Probably available at some, key word some, “specialty” tattoo shops. It would allow said “some” tattoo shops to showcase their work. Whatever licensing or inspections are required I don’t know. Maybe they are, maybe they aren’t, but somebody made money off it.
It’s amazing what services “Doctors” in Tijuana will perform for the right amount of money. Or American Doctors performing illegal/unethical procedures outside the confines of the US Border. A few decades back, maybe mid 1990’s, two guys who were into missing limbs found a doctor willing to remove their healthy legs (one leg each) in a motel South of The Border. The one guy bailed out when it came time for the operation, but the other guy was fully committed to the operation. Wouldn’t you, seedy motels in Tijuana are not known for their cleanliness, and shortly afterwards Peg Leg developed an infection and died. Doctor was tried for manslaughter, can’t recall how it turned out. Sounds strange thirty years ago, but today we have doctors cutting off the packages of 10 year old boys in the name of gender affirmation.

Okay I have another question. Every single article about this monstrosity starts off with “US Army Veteran”, but then says nothing of her Veteran experience. Is she actually a Veteran, or just someone that served, or someone that spent 12 days in Basic and then left? I’m just curious because the articles give the impression that the US Army endorses this practice/allowed her to serve like this.
