Steve Cushman; noch ein mal
We wrote about Steve Cushman two months ago when Scotty caught his story about being an Air Force pilot.
A week or so later, the newspaper blamed themselves for misunderstanding Stevie when he told them he’d been a pilot for seven years and flew jets in Desert Storm before he retired from military service as a pilot;
But, you see we found an old cached Facebook profile in which he claimed that he was a pilot at one time, too;
The FOIA letter that we had initially claimed that he had service in the Air Force Reserves but we had seen the FOIA on that yet. Well, someone down there in Florida was curious about his military claims and it seems that he did spend a year in the Air Force Reserves and rocketed up to the rank of Airman First Class – you know the most common rank of Air Force pilots (that’s sarcasm, if you didn’t recognize it);
It looks like he didn’t attend basic training, or there would have been a record of Federal service, and there’s no training listed on the FOIA, and there’s no National Defense Service Medal for any active service during that period and I can’t imagine anyone in the Air Force for a year and not having any awards. I’m pretty sure the Air Force has a ribbon for completing Basic Training, don’t they? I think I remember my son having three ribbons after his first six weeks in the Air Force.
Oh, yeah, in case any of you are worried that Cushman is continuing his threats of filing a lawsuit against us, we haven’t heard from him since we found the old Facebook profile. Here was his email to us, telling us how we don’t what we’re doing here;
Comment: Reading through your website on how to request military information, I came to the conclusion you lack the discipline to follow your own advice.
I will elaborate on this comment since you may not be completely able to understand its meaning.
First, the record you posted about my military service is proof in itself I actually served. Now while it was not during combat, which you all seem to be hung on the only military service there is, it was none the less service. I do not and have never claimed myself a veteran but you certainly brought forth the evidence I am in fact a veteran although I will still never consider myself of that title. It should be left to those who rode out the career or contract in my case. Unfortunately, I did not for reasons certainly unknown to you and your followers. I will say it was not to dodge actual combat which I most likely would not have seen anyway and it certainly was not because I acted out to get booted. I have an honorable discharge which you should have been able to get if you are as good as you claim. Instead, I strapped on a badge and took to the streets as a law enforcement officer. Now before another group of lifeless individuals run away with that story, I will tell you
it was as an unpaid reserve while I tested to go full time. Wore the same uniform, carried the same gun and drove the same car just didn’t get paid. Put in 20 hours a week while working a full time job. And yes, I saw it all, as I normally worked weekend night shift beginning Friday evenings. I even have a letter of appreciation for being first on scene of a shooting. If you can imagine that! So to the clueless individual who can’t get past his own service or possibly lack there of, my life was on the line weekly. If you do not agree, tell it to the many loved ones of fallen officers across this country. I’m sure they would love to hear it from a set of classy individuals such as your group. But then again, you guys do focus on the “pedestrian” I see.
Now to the part you really dropped the ball on. Your first mistake was “media”. It is fairly obvious by your comments about media within the same website under contact us, that you disagree with much of the media as I do. Having done many interviews lately, I distrust their abilities a little more each day. And we all know, if you read it on the internet, it must be true. Noting all the gibber in the comments section in the post about me, I can’t help but notice a few errors in posts and mainly a bunch of ranting like small school children about the dislike over the lunch served for the day. Should I start a website to out all the service members who can’t seem to get the story straight? Will it prove some of your followers are complete idiots who lack the ability to verify what they post? Or will it prove some people just do not think at all? With that said, after the article came out, the reporter left the paper. She made a reversal of the timelines of military service and law enforcement service. I caught it and the same day discussed it with a few friends . Like you, they had concerns with the timelines but they came straight to me unlike your unprofessional post and comments. It was decided not to pursue correction during that conservation as it is a weekly paper and these folks down here just don’t really care about trivial little things.
Now should you want any clarification on my military service which I can assure you, your post lacks much of the information about it. I will tell you it was not burned in a fire, classified or even lost. I have documents to back up the pilot, dates and what you all call “basic training” but in ROTC it is simply called boot camp. I will just give you this bit of intel as you may wish to check it. I was at Lackland AFB during the summer of 1989 on the Medina Annex (which I believe was closed to the officer training corps in 1993ish). The base had an F80 (I believe but could have been an 86) at the front gate. The drill pad I spent many hours on was just inside that and our housing for the stay was located up on the hill to the north of the pad. It was a three story “H” shaped building with 12 halls of rooms. Chow hall was southwest of that with a track, volleyball courts and baseball fields south of that. Of course there was a firing range and an auditorium located within the
base as well and many other buildings which I do not completely remember as it was 25 years ago. This should give you enough to go dig up Medina to find out it actually existed and was once damaged by a blast when it was a weapons depo. There were many programs which were implemented during my service time. I have no idea if the information on them is available to you or not but none the less I participated in them. Keep digging and you may get lucky. Or should you chose to be a professional like you should be and ask first and react later, I may be happy to just share any information I have in my possession. However, I could just sit back and let you carry on with your assumptions and see where it ends up. Unlike you, I just do not rant about things I have no proof of. Pretty much like your website suggests. Lawyers just love to eat that crap up as they too never seem to have enough legitimate issues or cases to pursue.
As for the Clinton administration, I am certain I stated prior to the Clinton Administration which would have been, as many of your followers who posted on the FB page pointed out, prior to 1993. But I will let you be the judge of that since you are now aware of the timeline mistake reported in the article. I honestly wasn’t sure of the date I left. Just knew it was prior to that. By the way, why do so many of your followers hide behind fake FB pages or not disclose information about where they live? Are they not confident in the information they post?
I will leave the continuation of this story up to you but I will warn you, govern yourself accordingly!
Best of luck,
The lying politician from Florida or is it Texas. I guess it doesn’t really matter. Please feel free to repost this as you desire.

I know this all a repeat of older posts, but I’m guessing that someone wanting to find all of the information in one place would appreciate this post.

I love this line:
“I will leave the continuation of this story up to you but I will warn you, govern yourself accordingly!”
Yeah, threats like that mean he truly is an ashhole, knows little about how to govern ones’ self and should not be in elected office.
I was in 7th div at Ft Ord in Aug 90. we did not deploy to Desert Storm, but we had one new guy who decided he was a conscientious objecter anyway and refused to even touch a weapon. Took several months to chapter him.
Another guy was a good soldier and had been in Just Cause earlier with us. he ETS d in July before Sadaam invaded. he spent his last month in telling everyone how much fun he was going to have in college in the fall. he joined a reserve unit doing something with water purification , and was one of the first activated.
Hmm. Got out in August, 1990, as an A1C with no training and no awards on his records.
Now, seems to me that something else happened in August 1990, too. Something that might make people think twice about being in the military – and maybe find a way to get out if they could.
Aug. 1990 – Hmmm…. Okay.
8/2/1990: Iraq invades Kuwait.
8/3/1990: 37.1°C (98.8°F) at Cheltenham in Gloucestershire
8/6/1990: Gulf War: The United Nations Security Council orders a global trade embargo against Iraq in response to Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait.
8/10/1990: The Magellan space probe reaches Venus.
8/19/1990: Leonard Bernstein conducts his final concert, ending with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.
8/23/1990: West Germany and East Germany announce that they will unite on October 3.
8/28/1990: The Plainfield Tornado: An F5 tornado hits in Plainfield, Illinois, and Joliet, Illinois, killing 28 people.
8/30/1990: Tatarstan declares independence from the RSFSR.
That should about cover it.
Yea… the Magellan probe reaching Venus just about made me go over the edge and go UA… NOT!!!
I had just graduated Basic and was in AIT at Ft. Sill in August. We were all chomping at the bits to get through it and get to our units before it was all over….
Stupid kids that we were. 🙂
That was also the time that you heard rumors about a kid snapping just so he couldn’t deploy.
I’m betting that the Air Force didn’t appeal to him much when this turd realized he had to actually fight to get those College Benefits he was after.
We had one turd go all “Conscious Objector” in our unit when we were deployed to Iraq in 2008.
That turd had a dose of reality and turned coward because he realized he’d have to fight for his benefits.
We had three commit suicide to avoid the deployment and a company commander’s driver hid out in Hamburg the day we deployed. He had “Jodie Syndrome” – he thought Jodie would get his German girlfriend while he was deployed. So skipping out on our six month deployment got him 8 months in Mannheim when we got back. I wonder if she waited for him.
Funny thing, I was in recruiting command in CT in 90/91 and all of our DEPs shipped on schedule. There was even an uptick in walk-ins, but most of those peeps didn’t qualify to join.
Speaking of Mannheim, we had a BCD-bound troublemaker from our unit in A-stan sent there before he got his Big Chicken Dinner™ and rumor among us was that they treat their prisoners like SHIT in there, was that true then?
I’m betting that the Air Force didn’t appeal to him much when this turd realized he had to actually fight to get those College Benefits he was after.
That sounds about right. In the mid 2000s too, the Air Force had force shaping. I saw a guy come from Basic to Tech school to first base, Scott AFB. Six months into his first duty station. He opted out due to the force shaping which allowed people with less than 3 years in to get out. If they did get out, Air Force re-couped their GI bill money.
This guy lied to his to father and said he was kicked out because he didn’t fit in. So his father, E-8…called up the Superintendent (E-8 too) at Scott complaining about how they did his son wrong. They told him the truth and he disowned his son. Told him not to ever come back home again.
Off on a tangent here. Why,when John Kerry refused to show his military records, when he ran for President, couldn’t we get them???
Frankly, I have to ask a question to our not-so-esteemed jackass here.
Why did you get out at a time when we were preparing for conflict? Could it be the fact you were a chicken-livered whiney bastard who couldn’t get off his mother’s boob and out of his daddy’s wallet???
Frankly, I was at UNT back at the time you were supposedly in. I think your story is like your political, full of shit.
“8/30/1990: Tatarstan declares independence from the RSFSR.”
Bingo! 😀
Yeah, I remember all the hue and cry – and warnings of imminent hostilities – over the Tartarstan crisis. People were predicting the end of the world as we knew it. That was a close one!
(I do hope the sarcasm above is obvious. [smile])
“…the end of the world as we knew it.”. So that’s what that REM song is about. Thanks Hondo! I never knew. 😉
Didn’t Tartarstan invade Paprika that year over the Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme territories?
Okay – so he knows his way around Lackland. Wow. Open post back then + a couple of AF drinking buddies = Expert Status and “proof”.
What impresses me the most is that he “strapped on” a badge. Musta been a mighty big badge – or did he mean to say he strapped on something else?
Loser with a big L….
Muppets Most Wanted Movie CLIP – Badge Envy (2014…: http://youtu.be/nd5hGkXjSg8
He might have strapped on a badge, but that doesn’t make him a meat shield. Ever!
More like meatgazer.
In the AF back then, would have been required to attend Basic as a ROTC grad? Not defending him IF he successfully completed college level ROTC, he should have been commissioned and sent to some qual school. But booted as an A1C, sounds like non-college grad instead.
I taught Army ROTC back then and folks who joined the Reserves and the Guard while they were in ROTC didn’t have to attend basic training because they were supposed to go to ROTC Advanced Camp between their junior and senior years and that would count as their basic. I’m guessing that the Air Force was similar.

I need to remember this line for the next time someone calls me out in a seminar. The dumb cops that Grossman and I train will fall for it every time.

One word: SLACKER.
Cushman still is and always will be a turd.
What a smug piece of shit. Souds a lot like chubby-liar.
News-flash shit-waffle*, being a part of AFROTC, never completing Basic and getting out as an E-1 after a year inthe program doesnt make you a veteran.
Mucking around on an AF base with other poolees or cadets means jack-shit.
You also compeltely ingored your claims of being a pilot and havig a commission. Yes go ahead and start your website, twat, Denny Blob-liar already has a template for one.
* Shit-waffle: A disgusting object formed when someone wearing treaded soles steps on fecal matter.
The feces is pressed down and formed into a treaded or “waffle” pattern.
Thanks for the clarification
I’m still struck by what is the equivalent of a two-page rebuttal on 8.5×11 paper. It not only smacks of a vaingloriously weak ego, but also says he operates under the delusion that anything he says is important.
…Like I said in the original thread:
1. Enlisted with college ROTC time which got him into the DEP with two stripes.
2. Decided that the possibility of actually getting shot at wasn’t worth it.
3. Refused to ship.
I was recruiting during the Storm and I didn’t lose anybody, but I had a bunch of parents telling me to stay away from their snowflakes.
Mike
…Dammit, hit POST too fast.
Mister Cushman, you never served minute one in my Air Force, enlisted or commissioned. You think you can convince ME that you did? I’m on Facebook, send me a PM. Convince me and I’ll stand up for you here. Kinda doubting you will, though.
Ah yes, we’re back to this shittard again, the “war-hero USAF pilot” who never even showed up for basic training. Go take a leap, asshole…
So the turd gurgler thinks he’s hot shit. The fact that he got a small town rag to back down means shit all. He’s a liar, simple as that. He claimed to be a US Air Force officer and a pilot. There’s no getting around that, Stevie Boy. Your nothing more than a small turd with a huge ego. And if you think about your service is trivial, why don’t you ask those you want to vote for you. I think they won’t find the fact that you’re a liar and fraud to be a trivial matter. And you were a reserve officer. Wow. I’m so unimpressed. If you really wanted to impress people you could have fulfilled your enlistment and maybe deployed. But you “strapped on a badge.” Was that a Freudian slip? One last thing, GFY.
Doesn’t the Chair Force get a Flying Floss medal for graduating from basic training ???
They have to do ten pushups or something from what I heard !!!
OH SHAME ON ME !!!
Cushman……….Your just another wannabe who wants to get with the in crowd meaning military veterans, now that it’s cool to be a Vet!
I’m sure you never thought you would see the day when being a vet would help get you elected. Guess again cup cake your name is out there and it’s going to get worse. You want name recognition? You are going to get it, just not. The way you thought!
There’s a lot of vets on this site who were drafted, including myself. Don’t think for one minute most of us were happy about being pulled away from in some cases our college life, job whatever and placed in harms way.
You on the other hand, made a decision to walk away when your country needed you. Then you come full circle, when it’s in your best interest to claim bullshit you remotely, never did! To round out your resume.
I can’t wait to see another of your boring full of shit rebuttals!
The next time you want to post why not use a hot air balloon. Because that’s what your full of. Hot air.
In closing, GfYS!
Word.
“Put in 20 hours a week while working a full time job. And yes, I saw it all, as I normally worked weekend night shift beginning Friday evenings.” Shit hot! He “saw it all”? Hell, I did 27 years at the PD and I never got to see it all.
And, if he was a reserve, I’d bet that his tour of duty was something like, “sit in the passenger’s seat, keep quiet and don’t touch anything”.
Well, it’s a pleasant break from the Special Forces wannabes. I’ll give him that.
I bet he’s an Expert Pilot on an F666 Flying Fuck™® and shot expert at the Bullshit Range every time, or at least thinks he is and does!
One thing is for sure, I think he has “POLITICIAN” written all over him. He’s a smug, arrogant, self-centered liar that’s more full of shit than a thousand flocks of geese!
The dude went from college/AFROTC, to Law Enforcement, owns property in TX having to do with Auto Repair, and now is in FL as owner/operator of an aquaculture business. WTF? What I would like to know is if he received government grant money for his aquaculture business and if his veteran status played a part in it. It just does not follow that someone hanging a muffler in N. TX will know jack all about cultivating oysters in FL., much less be teaching Aquaculture at the local college. And yet there is Steve…
The only thing this c@ck jock has ever flown was his overly inflatuated egoist ass!
It looks like this shitbag won round one.
We need to step it up.
