Steve Cushman update

| July 5, 2014

Steven Cushman

Yesterday, Someone sent us a screen shot from the Wakulla News which published a correction in regards to their article about phony Air Force pilot, Steve Cushman who is running for County Commissioner in Wakulla County, Florida. We wrote about the article last month in which Cushman told the reporter that he had been an Air Force pilot for seven years. Now the reporter says that she made it up, I guess;

Steve Cushman Correction

Well, that’s fine. If the reporter wants to take the hit for Cushman lying to her, that’s her business. But, it wasn’t the first time that he has made that claim. He used to rock the same lie on his Facebook account;

Cushman Old Facebook

He threatened to send his lawyers after us within a few hours of publishing the first post about him. Needless to say, we haven’t heard back from him or his lawyer. He had lots to say until we posted the Facebook screen shot. I’m guessing that he won’t have anything to say about this post either.

He needs to work on his approach. I’d suggest using what’s made my lies so successful – “jazz hands”.

sincerely

Are you sure that isn’t “jizz” hands? I’m certain that a phony CPO and some guy named Psul would perk right up at THAT thought. 🙂

Instinct

Aaaaaannnnd it’s time for some brain bleach!

Grimmy

Waacking is the new Jazz Hands.

I want to know how he claims to be a retired pilot in just seven years? I guess I was in the wrong branch. Also If you look at the correction? and compare it to the article it is not really a correction or retraction of any of his claims. Its illegal in Florida for a candidate to misrepresent a military career?
Wonder where that will go? We’ll just have to stay tuned!

Scotty

I want to hear more about the multiple properties that he owns in Texas under a disabled Veterans exemption. I guess that’s the Tax access-er’s mistake and not his also. I asked him the question in a private message on FaceBook. Only for him to read it and ignore.
He watches this site now just as much as the other Stolen Valor losers that we’ve exposed. But has yet to even try to comment in open forum in his defense. That speaks volumes about his Credibility.
Hey Cushman, I know a wannabe attorney in OR who will represent you. He has a PI in TX & a drunk in FL as a witness. You would fit perfectly into their Realm of idiots.

A Proud Infidel®™

I’m curious, is he-who-shall-not-be-named still in FL, or did he go back to OR?

Ex-PH2

He’s gone underground, Proud. Or is it Marc? Or wait – Harry. That’s it – Harry! Right?

A Proud Infidel®™

No Ma’am, it’s CLYDE DIDDIT!!

streetsweeper

Okay, Clyde. Settle down…lol!

A Proud Infidel®™

More of his frivolous junk, or have his chickens come home to roost? (Maybe THAT’S what’s shaking his bushes?)

NHSparky

I found his attempt to swear out a “retraining” order on me fairly amusing.

And I STILL haven’t had the FBI drop by the house yet. Strange.

streetsweeper

Retraining? For? lmao!

NHSparky

Jonn wrote a thread about it the other day.

Seriously, I couldn’t make this shit up if I tried.

Scotty – has anyone looked in to the funding of his current aquaculture business? I bet the feds and the state threw money at him in order to start it up. I wonder if they thought they were helping a real vet? How does one go from auto repair in N. Texas to aquaculture in Florida? Answer: government assistance, subsidies, low interest loans, grants, etc. Follow the money.

Sparks

Nice piece, except, they wrote the original error they published but not a correction to say what the truth is of Steve Cushman. I would read it as, “okay, they wrote this as a reporting error, so what’s the truth?”

I think it could have been “corrected” much better.

Such as “We published in error thus and so. The correct information should have read Steve Cushman was not a pilot in the Air Force and did not retire from or serve 7 years in the Air Force”.

GDcontractor

I agree! Their correction is actually just a restatement. There’s no way the reporter made all those details up. Clinton administration, age 35, etc….no way. So which one of them was a reporting error? USAF Pilot Retired, my ass.

gitarcarver

I think what we are seeing is the header / first couple of paragraphs from the correction article – not the entire correction itself.

Looking at the site, it looks like the remainder of the article is behind a pay firewall. (The original article is behind the same firewall now.)

I am guessing that there is more to the article than the screencapture.

In an article that ran in the March 27, 2014 edition of The Wakulla News, a reporting error was made regarding county commission candidate Steve Cushman’s military service record.
The original article stated: “After high school, Cushman attended University of North Texas and joined the ROTC. He graduated with a degree in psychology, entered the Air Force and served for seven years until he took a voluntary disenrollment offered during the Clinton Administration. He remained on standby until he turned 35.”
Cushman trained under the AFROTC Flight Indoctrination Program while attending college at University of Northern Texas. He left the Air Force under a voluntary disenrollment with honorable discharge status in August 1990, about a month after graduation from college.
We regret the error.

…Except the AFROTC Flight Indoctrination Program at the time wasn’t really a flight training program – it was more of a screening operation intended to see if one had what it took. The USAF didn’t mind if you assumed it would get you a ticket, but I don’t think the hours actually counted towards a qualification. IIRC the total flight time was around forty hours, and the only way you got that many was if you were going all the way through. Most were told ‘thanks for playing’ long before that.

In other words, still not completely honest.

Sorry for the dupe!

Turd.

NHSparky

So basically, he’s still rockin the lie, and even the paper won’t hold his feet to the fire.

James Long

The news paper wimped out not the reporter she only reported what he said. looks like the paper fed her to the dogs.

A Proud Infidel®™

Bummer! I wonder if Cushman has taken up sides with a certain drunken skydiving clown and a wannabe CPO?

Hack Stone

He can always get a job as a lobbyist for All Points Logistics. He is definately All Points Logistics material.

Green Thumb

It appears that this dirtbag was defeated.

Good news.
