Now, Ramadan caused the “insider attacks”

| August 23, 2012

I think we’ve run through all of the excuses for those green-on-blue attacks with Marine Gen. John Allen latest talk with reporters. Stars & Stripes reports that he blames Ramadan fasting and the heat in Afghanistan;

Some recent attacks by uniformed Afghan forces against NATO troops may have been triggered by stress, hunger and dehydration associated with Ramadan fasting that this year fell in the middle of harsh summer weather and the heavy fighting season, the top U.S. military officer in Afghanistan said Thursday.

Yeah, because I get hungry and want to shoot someone sometimes. But, then Betty White brings me a Snickers bar and I’m cool again. Allen continues with his speculation;

About a quarter of the attacks can be attributed to the Taliban, Allen said, whether because the attacker was an infiltrator or was coerced by the Taliban into acting.

Funny, but we heard it was only about ten percent last month. It’ll be 50% next month, I guess.

From the Associated Press in a link sent to us by AGEFMB, Allen commented to yesterday’s report that Karzai and his clown car ride blamed foreign influences for the attacks;

Allen was asked about an assertion by the office of President Hamid Karzai on Wednesday that the insider attacks can be blamed on the brainwashing of Afghan recruits by foreign intelligence agents.

“I’m looking forward to Afghanistan providing us with the intelligence that permits them to come to that conclusion so that we can understand how they’ve drawn that conclusion,” Allen said.

I get the impression that Allen is not holding his breath waiting for that report.

If that were the cause, every silly bastard in my IOBC platoon would be dead.

He-e-eyy! I said Ramadan before Allen did. Is he snooping here and plagiarizing my posts?

CI Roller Dude

Is that General that much out of touch, or is he just a retard? They’ve been doing this fast stuff for hundreds of years.
I was carefull in Iraq during Ramadan…and told my gunners to get some bacon grease from the messhall and rub it on the gun ammo before going out.

Smaj

Fasting and the heat. They really must think we’re all idiots or not paying attention.

Horseshit, and GEN Allen knows it. While fasting is required, starving and dehydrating are not. Muslims can eat and drink enough to sustain—usually at night, only full meals and heavy drink are outlined in the koran.

If the General thinks that muslims go the entire month with no food or water…he’s as kooky as they are.

maybe, just maybe, these are actually Taliban insurgents that have joined the ranks to be able to obtain information to pass to their REAL commanders, then kill from the inside. I know that’s a stretch, ‘cuz it’s never happened before ever in warfare…….

Harsh summer weather?

At least they’re not blaming it on global warming. Yet.

CI

I don’t think the green-blue attacks are caused by Ramadan, Taliban [and Iraqi] attacks typically rise during their holy month.

Not really sure why, but ISAF ramps up the collection and analysis leading up to it.

CI

Allow me to clarify after proofreading…….Not really sure why attacks raise during this period, but ISAF ramps up the collection and analysis leading up to it.

Well, it happens every Lent, doesn’t it? That fasting business can be quite stressful and what better way to relieve stress than to blow some people up. This guy is proof positive that the higher up one goes, the stupider one gets. Of course, there are exceptions to this rule. I’ll get back to you when I can think of an exception who is still among the living.

Ramadan my ass.

Infiltration of military and intelligence organizations has been a trademark of AQ and Co. since the days of Egyptian Islamic Jihad.

I think AQ and Co are more than aware of the fact that as bad as the ANA/ANP are, US support in the form of training, airstrikes, and Special Operations could be enough to prevent a Taliban takeover.

“Thrill up my leg” MSM goes silent. They instead ask Maobama what kind of superpower he would like to have or have long segments on the wierdness of Mormonism.

You know, I read about four words into this before erupting. What an absolute load of horseshit. How stupid do these dick suckers think we are? Stress and hunger and dehydration from Ramadan fasting? Holy fucking shit. Good grief. THis dumb motherfucker is a four star general? Whose side are these jack asses on? What next. God damn them. All of them.

During Ramadan, there is only one meal, after sunset. People are allowed water any time they need it. And all the people in the Middle East are acclimated to the climate, so saying that they’re starving and dehydrated shows clearly that General Allen doesn’t know his butt from a camel’s about them. Maybe he should do a little reading up on the history of the area and its people before he opens his silly mouth.

I still think he stole that idea from me. Fess up, Allen. You’re nothing but a plagiarizing, lame-brained bozo who hasn’t had a bright idea since the day you were conceived.

CI Roller Dude

I had a theroy in Iraq as to why we had so many assholes.
1.) it was hot
2.) they had no AC, little fresh water
3.) They had to beat their heads on the ground 5 times a day to pray
4.) they had 3 wives and 30 kids
5.) they couldn’t drink

of course they were grumpy

I love this blog!!!

@13 Ex-PH2: It’s worse than that. I oversee the contract for a chow hall at an ANP base and they eat two meals during the hours of darkness and then “raid the fridge” all day long or order food to be sent over “for later…” Since I’m active duty I can’t comment about how much I agree with second paragraph because that would inappropriate. 🙂

Ex-PH2

@16 ARMYMP, thank you for the heads up on that!

I love it when all of you guys make me laugh! Thank you!!
