U.S. Space Force Recruiting Video

| May 8, 2020

Maybe your purpose on this planet isn’t on this planet. (U.S. Space Force)

Air Force and Space Force Recruiting released a recruiting video. It highlights aspects of serving in the U.S. Space Force that could spark interest in joining this service. Know of anybody among your friends and family that could qualify for this branch? They might be interested in this video.

Transcripts for the U.S. Space Force recruiting video:

“Some people look to the stars and ask, ‘What if?’ Our job is to have an answer. We have to imagine what will be imagined. Plan for what’s possible while it’s still impossible. Maybe you weren’t put here just to ask questions. Maybe you were put here to be the answer. Maybe your purpose on this planet isn’t on this planet.”

The recruiting video:

From American Military News:

The recruitment video comes as the Space Force has largely been pulling from U.S. Air Force resources and personnel to get its manpower start. At Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, five Air Force units comprising approximately 1,840 Air Force jobs are being transferred over to the newly formed Space Force.

The 4th Space Control Squadron (SPCS) of the Air Force Space Command recently received and trained to use the Space Force’s first offensive weapon in the form of a ground based system that can jam satellite communications in space. The interaction between the Air Force’s SPCS, implementing the new Space Force weapon is another indicator of the reliance the new military branch has on existing military units.

I’ll believe we have a true Space Force when they start recruiting Viper Pilots and Battlestar Door Gunners. This seems to be a continuation of fighting one another here on Earth using existing platforms v preparing to repel invading Cyborgs and Klingons. Hollywood has proven that other life forms are out there. They have also proven that the initial meetings do not bode well for the soft, tasty Earthlings. Or will we become the Empire or the Rebels?

Too bad Ronnie Reagan didn’t get the SDI built.

Combat Historian

It’s inevitable that sooner or later, our adversaries will have their own personnel in space and earth orbit as well and carrying out their own missions against us. Sooner or later, we are going to have to engage enemy space troops in close combat, like the Space Marines engaging Drax minions in “Moonraker”. Is Space Force training a space infantry unit of its own for this eventuality? Will the USMC have to train up and provide a close-combat space infantry battalion or regiment for attachment or OPCON to Space Force? These may seem fanciful questions now, but is something Space Force and DOD need to start thinking about and planning…

That’s just the teaser https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=io6Mqho-asM here is the full trailer.
The Army Space folks are staying with us…at least for now. Some of the folks at Missile Command may transfer, and they are asking folks if they want to transfer but not forcing them like the Air Force.
I should have switched to Space when we did functional areas, now that I am working with them it is more my style.

AOC @ 1:10?

On the plus side, being in a zero gravity orbit, a lot more GI’s will be able to make the height/weight standard.

Will Space Force have a ROTC program?

Will we call them Space Cadets?

To infinity and beyond!

David

We laugh now, but look what balloon reconnaissance in the Civil War eventually turned into.

Slow Joe

Absolutely.

I expect the Space Force to pioneer new technologies that will give us space superiority over our enemies. In the near future, or rather the present if facing near-peer enemies, space superiority is as vital as air superiority.

The decision to create a Space Force reinforces American dominance across the globe and projects the image that we are looking towards the future, that we are the pioneers in space exploration and the future belongs to us, not China and her friends.

May the Force be with you Jeff LPH 3, and your Laser Light sabre training will commence after gunnery and sextant star navigation training.

OWB

Still don’t know why a new branch of service was needed. Seems like just another excuse for more arguments about uniforms, for instance.

Oh, well. I didn’t have all that much influence over how big Air Force did things back in the day so it’s no real surprise that my opinion about Space Force isn’t relevant to much of anything.

If only, 40-45 years ago, when I was young and dumb, I woudda volunteered to join.

Just a matter of time until some E3 on Space Liberty gets drunk on moon juice and creates an intergalactic incident. Not to mention those guys who will be bringing back space brides, placing a further burden on the military health system. They will need to expand the maternity wards to include facilities for hatching space baby eggs.
