President Trump did not Tell People to Ingest Disinfectants

| May 1, 2020

Social media seems to be blowing up with this claim. Too many “progressives” insist that because President Trump said to “ingest Lysol” or “ingest disinfectants”, people are doing it. Thus, they are harming themselves “because” of what President Trump said. There are comments where people claim that President Trump actually said the things they claimed he said.

The reality? Context. The same side of the argument that insisted that context mattered, when talking about what the last president said, are taking this president out of context. What did the President actually say?

From the White House:

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you very much. So I asked Bill a question that probably some of you are thinking of, if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So, supposing we hit the body with a tremendous — whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light — and I think you said that that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said, supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way, and I think you said you’re going to test that too. It sounds interesting.

ACTING UNDER SECRETARY BRYAN: We’ll get to the right folks who could.

THE PRESIDENT: Right. And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning. Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it would be interesting to check that. So, that, you’re going to have to use medical doctors with. But it sounds — it sounds interesting to me.

So we’ll see. But the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute, that’s — that’s pretty powerful.

By asking to do “something like that”, the implication is to find something that could be used for inside the body that has similar effects. Basic comprehension indicates that the president is not asking people to inject themselves or to take disinfectants.

Uh oh…. Seeing this post makes me think of a coyote hunter with a “wounded animal” audio decoy placed strategically.

Something is about to come running in to the bait…

Careful, somebody gonna get all hubristical on yo azz. You may also be overwhelmed with a barrage of empirical evidence and data.

Twist

The media even cherry picked data in order to make it seem like there was a spike in calls to poison control after the statement to make seem like people were ingesting chemicals because of Trump. What they failed to mention was that there was a spike before Trump even said anything. It’s really because more people are using more cleaning products at this time. People are also following “advice” they see on the internet like disinfecting their produce and therefore accidently contaminating their produce.

Twist

These are the same people who tried to say that Trump said to take fish tank cleaner and even blamed him for a man dying of ingesting it. They are now conveniently ignoring the fact that the woman who fed her husband the cleaner and then blamed Trump is now under investigation for murder.

A seagull and a know it all showing to explain what Trump actually said in 5.4.3.2…!

Reading for comprehension is good for the Soul!

I believe Mr Trump may have been referring to “en vivo lung perfusion”.

Ex vivo, “after life”, lung perfusion is done with lungs harvested for transplant, and is cutting edge stuff.

En vivo, the ” still using mine” version, is a bit more tricky. Folks is workin on it …

” clean them out” is a vast oversimplification, but it is part of the process.

So you “orange man bad” types need to do some homework.

Get rid of social media and the problem is gotten rid of.

Slow Joe

Get rid of modern civilization amd free market capitalism and the problem is gone.

That’s what you actually said.

SFC D

Social media is effectively helping Darwinism. Idiots who accept everything on fakebook as the word of God are apt to meet their maker quicker than those who don’t. Also known as “play stupid games, win stupid prizes”.

Slow Joe

Absolutely agree.

Bill R.

Let them drink bleach. If they’re too stupid to understand what every child has been taught before kindergarten, they’re too stupid to vote.

SFC D

Darwin and Karma both have enough votes to have it their way.

Some folks out there who are actually allergic to most cleaning products have long avoided being places where things like Clorox are used. Will they now succumb to those allergies? Or just remain home more. Of course, face coverings filter out some of those deadly vapors.

Meanwhile, if you want to drink Clorox, I don’t want to be around you because you are too stupid to breath the same air as the rest of us. And, no, I do not think that folks who would do so are influenced in the slightest by anything Pres Trump says about any subject.

Why would anyone beyond the toddler stage of life where anything you can pick up goes into the mouth even consider it?

How many frakking times am I going to get chemical burns on my hands from other people “sanitizing” shopping carts and door handles?

And once sensitized/burned, almost anything is a here-we-go-again.

Found a supply of disposable gloves in the garage from Harbor Freight. Evidently, they were made for auto mechanics. There is now a handful of those in the car. Been using them to grab the grocery cart on those few adventures out and about.

Adapt and overcome! We may be moving slower these days, but we aren’t down yet. The whining bitches think they have us too scared to come out of our homes, but they would be wrong. As usual.

Sure, the current communicable disease is concerning. But many of us have lived through polio (those iron lungs were REALLY scary), scarlet fever, German measles, a plethora of other diseases, a few shooting wars, and surgeries we shouldn’t have survived. This? No biggy, in spite of the silliness surrounding it. Many of us simply refuse to become hysterical about it.

Just for thehellofit, I took a look at two shampoo bottles I have.

Yup, sure as scheiße, there it is.
On one bottle is printed: “For external use only” and on the other: “Do not take internally:.

Who in the hell actually drank shampoo that the manufacturer had to put disclaimers on the bottles to not drink it?

Dumbasses!

The effing lawers have been advising their manufacturer clients for over 25 years that such warnings will preclude successful product liability lawsuits. Of course, the ambulance chasers just came up with a new theory of product liability—inadequate product warnings.

Fyrfighter

Check the warning label on a curling iron… says “do not insert into any orifice”.. No shit.. think about that one for a few minutes…

The Other Whitey

Even if he had said exactly what they say he said—which he didn’t—if you’re dumb enough to chug caustic chemicals that come with big red “DO NOT INGEST” warnings on the can for any reason? Well, in my opinion, you deserve what you get, nobody else is to blame for your stupidity, and humanity in general and America specifically are better off without you.

rgr769

Except, if your beloved wife mixes up a drink for you with chemicals so marked and you are unaware of what is in your soda, maybe we should give you a pass on a Darwin Award. That is because if you die, you are likely a murder victim.

The Other Whitey

True. I was specifically addressing the issue of idiots voluntarily ingesting the methylethylbadshit.

Commissar

He wondered out loud about injecting them or irrigating the lungs with them.

So what he actually did was at least as stupid as recommending ingesting them.

I have no idea why some of you feel such a compulsive need to defend him.

What he said was moronic. Period.

And he was actually retelling a conversation in order to brag about his “brilliant” ideas.

11B-Mailclerk

Go read up on “perfusion”. Not the pop-sci crap, the professional-level stuff.

And a minor point to ponder: antibiotic and disinfectant do very similar things, mainly mess up cellular boundaries. For a virus, the disinfectants wreck the protein/lipid shell, which is made of rough similar stuff.

Fascinating stuff, how a virus hijacks a cell, and will repurpose it for replication.

Soap and friction also work on that outer boundary.

But your rage blinds you, and is your downfall.

rgr769

Look, Squidward is engaging his psychic powers again. It is amazing how he can both read minds and predict the future. Who knew a mere mollusk had such mental powers.

Actually, you are the one who makes statements that are “moronic.”

P.S. Whenever I have a medical issue that needs medicating, I always get my medical advice/treatment plan from a real estate developer or a politician on TV. Then I reach for the household cleaners. s/(for the progtards)

timactual

Since I voted for Trump I obviously fall into the category of dumb-enough-to-drink-bleach and I am living on borrowed time.

Twist

We all have no idea why you feel the compulsive need to make shit up yet here we are. Once I again I ask this question, did you miss the part where Trump said “It wouldn’t be through injections, almost a cleaning and sterilization of an area. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t work, but it certainly has a big effect if it’s on a stationary object”?

rgr769

Perhaps Squidward believes people think they are “stationary objects,” like a counter top. Just more mind reading by our fave mollusk exercising his hubristic powers of divination.

SFC D

Twist, that part is irrelevant. It does not fit the narrative, and therefore must be dismissed. If you had attended the correct schools and universities, you would know this.

timactual

“What he said was moronic.”

Which makes him no worse than any other recent occupant of the White House. Or Congress.

Your preoccupation with Trump is a symptom. I would recommend seeing a professional but it seems all the other morons think such services are “nonessential”.
