Man Accused of Murder Day after Coronavirus Related Release

Joseph Williams was among those released from custody to minimize coronavirus spread risks. He is back in custody after he was suspected of murder. (Orient Road Jail/Hillsborough County Jail/Daily Mail)
Many prisoners were released from jail to mitigate the risks of coronavirus outbreaks in prison. Joseph Williams, booked for heroin possession, was selected to be among those to be released. It turned out that Joseph wasn’t someone that had a low risk to the community once released.
From The Daily Mail:
But on March 19 Williams was one of 164 inmates deemed low-risk who was allowed to leave custody following the issuance of Administrative Order 2020-018 which allows people to go free early to decrease the risk of contracting COVID-19 in crowded facilities.
He left the Hillsborough County jail at 8.02am but by 10.40pm the next day, police were called to the scene of 8000 block of Ash Avenue in Tampa where a man had been shot dead.
Williams is believed to be responsible for the second-degree murder.
‘There is no question Joseph Williams took advantage of this health emergency to commit crimes while he was out of jail awaiting resolution of a low-level, non-violent offense,’ Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement. ‘As a result, I call on the State Attorney to prosecute this defendant to the fullest extent of the law.’
Just days after Williams entered jail, Chronister had said at a media briefing they were releasing more than 100 inmates for the safety of fellow jailers and staff.
Joseph Williams’s record shows 35 charges from the past. The Daily Mail has more information and photos here.

Hmmm, the guy was arrested in 2018 for felon in possession of a firearm. He probably got a sweetheart deal to plead to a lesser charge, so the State’s Attorney got a win without a trial, and somebody ended up dead, when Williams should have still been sitting in a prison somewhere.
Almost as bad as releasing a criminal with a long record (35 arrests, 12 misdemeanor & 2 felony convictions – one of which was felon in possession of a firearm) is that sheriff’s liberal attitude.
“Every murder, every violent crime, especially those involving a gun, is a sickening example of the worst in our community…”
Really? What makes a crime committed with a gun worse than a crime committed with a baseball bat, knife, or bulldozer?
Makes as much sense as the Massachusetts weekend furlough program. Willy Horton, anybody?
He looks like such a good boy.
Was on his way to choir practice and took a wrong turn in a bad neighborhood. He commited self defense to protect his choir robe.
And y’all wonder why I want to get my Baby Girl and Grands the hell out of the Tampa Area. She has to come into contact with this type of trash every day. 38 priors? smdh!
They have to make room in jails for all the church-goers and protestors who violate their house arrests.
Man, I wish this wasn’t the case but sadly here in the USSA our priority seams to make potlucks a no-bond felony and drug dealing a RORable offense.
I haven’t been to a service (outside of the big 3) in well over a decade. This bullshit has me contemplating a return to the fold, in person, armed with much goodwill towards Man.
No worthy government places a perceived order above faith.

Seriously ifone, I hat ewe.
Disobey.
First step to Liberty.
Buthedindonuffin, maybe he jus’got dissed while on the way to Church Choir practice?
Lars will ‘splain to you how this is definitely Trump’s fault. Just hang tight it will all make sense shortly.
Liberals should be required to house all these peeps that are let out of jail and give them room and board out of their own pockets.
I remember him from the sergeant major academy.

Funny.
Meanwhile, the LA County Sheriff released 25 percent of the jail.
And the lefties STILL can’t figure out why there were nearly 2.4 million background checks for guns last month alone.
Since this posting went into “Teh Stupid” category, the Whiz Wheel®™ figured the subject should receive a FRPR (Full Retard Past Rutabaga Hat Tip to API) multiplier, so:
Joseph Edward Williams 42 x 8 = 336
I would have fewer objections to releasing prisoners if release was predicated both on their prior record and for what they were actually arrested, rather than the plea-bargained lesser charge their lawyer eventually negotiated.
Yeah.
Been going in a while.

Nothing says “Hire me!” like jail house facial tats.
The important thing is did he look like Obama’s son and was he holding skittles.
“If we could save but one life. . .” Isn’t that what pols have been saying about the quarantine? I guess that logic wasn’t enough of a counter argument to people wanting to release criminals.
It is like local governments are working overtime to make sure we value our 2nd amendment.
Way to ignore basic human behaviors in favor of SJW delusion
What’s the big deal? It’s only second degree murder, it’s not as if he intentionally killed someone.
This was completely not foreseeable!
