Mika Brzezinski Suspects Trump Financial Ties to Hydroxychloroquine
Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough questioned the enthusiasm behind the support for an antimalarial drug to treat this pandemic. Patients treated with this medication raved the effectiveness of this drug. Result? Regardless of demographics or party affiliation, there is growing support for the use of hydroxychloroquine to treat the coronavirus.
However, not everybody is sold on this drug. Mika Brzezinski tied President Trump’s support for this drug to potential financial connections. The article points out that medical experts emphasized that there is a lack of solid evidence.
From the Washington Examiner:
Brzezinski and husband Joe Scarborough opened their MSNBC show on Monday with a discussion on the warring factions in the White House after Axios reported Navarro and Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, clashed over hydroxychloroquine. Scarborough repeatedly called it an “unproven drug” and said it “doesn’t work for” the virus. Brzezinski accused Trump of being involved with the drug monetarily to explain his support for the drug.
“A lot of people would say, follow the money,” she said. “There’s got to be some sort of financial tie to someone somewhere that has the president pushing this repeatedly.”
Scarborough questioned why cable news outlets were still broadcasting the near-daily White House coronavirus task force briefings at which the president promotes the “unproven drug.”
At a White House coronavirus task force briefing on Sunday, Trump announced the administration had purchased “a tremendous amount” of hydroxychloroquine, which will be distributed to the states after the Food and Drug Administration issued an emergency approval for its use among coronavirus patients. The president has touted the drug as a possible treatment to the coronavirus, despite a lack of evidence.
“We have it stockpiled — about 29 million doses. We have a lot of it. We hope it works,” Trump said.
If you were seriously ill with this new coronavirus, and nothing else worked, would you give hydroxychloroquine and other proven medication a try? Especially if those who recovered described its effectiveness? This is a simple enough question, but to those who oppose President Trump, there has to be “another” reason.
The Washington Examiner has the full story.

Two clowns from MSLSD. I imagine if they came down with the COVID-19 viral infection they couldn’t get Hydroxychloroquine down their pie holes quickly enough.
“Orange man bad.”
I caught a couple minutes of Jimmy Kimmel before I found the remote and changed the channel. He mentioned that in his monologue along with fish tank cleaner. I wondered how the hell could he know if Trump had financial stakes in a generic drug that is out of patent.
By their logic…which is having an IRA that is invested in some company somewhere that makes something…I am “financially tied” to Cisco and Microsoft.
But…millions of Americans are too stupid and too lazy to understand how an IRA or 401K work and will fall for crap like this.
Of course, anyone getting their news from TV sources is demonstrably in the low information crowd.
It is really more remote than your example. Trump and his family own shares in a mutual fund that happens to own like 3% of the stock of the subject multi-billion dollar French drug company that makes HCQ, a very low profit generic drug. As anyone who owns or has owned minority shares of a mutual fund knows, the fund shareholder has no power to decide in what specific corporations the fund purchase stock shares. Those investment decisions are made by the fund’s professional managers.
It is highly doubtful that Trump even knew his mutual fund owned any shares of that drug company’s stock when he first mentioned HCQ. Moreover, that company is not the sole producer of HCQ. There are likely a dozen other companies that make it, since it has been around since 1955.
Lars please ‘splain us.
what would Lars know about retirement investments?
His plan is to elect a thief to steal yours.
One must have a long period of employment in order to make retirement investments or to receive retirement benefits. My belief is that both of these are foreign to him.
Comrade Seagull has said himself that his experience in a private sector job is limited to his time working at a McGunk franchise!
Yes, notice how he hasn’t touched this thread at all.
Yo, Mika:
Earlier this morning, WFTL 850AM radio was saying that LSMFT or is it msnbc hired a cardiologist that says taking the drug can cause cardiac arrest. I wonder if his name is dr. Quackenbush, horse doctor. A few thousand Doctors said the drug was ok to use. I know the demorats are rooting for many deaths and for the drug not to work because if it works, then it makes Trump look like good for having it used and that wouldn’t look good for the 2020 election.
Well, he’s right, but not the way it is portrayed. There are a few people out there for which the drug may be a problem. That has been stated more than once over the past few weeks. But, all one needs to do is look into a patient’s past history to deduce whether he or she would be a bad candidate for that drug. They are the exception, not the rule and that doctor is just being used for more fearmongering.
If a heart patient is taking Amiodarone to maintain heart rhythm, the Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and especially the Azithromycin (Z-Pak) can throw the heart rhythm seriously off and be potentially fatal. Ask me how I know this.
My cardiologist has given me permission to temporarily stop the Amiodarone in case I should need to use the HCQ and Z-Pak.
He also said that new research just published in Australia about Ivermectin and SARS-COV-2 has more promise than the HCQ.
As someone who worked in medical malpractice law for many years, both plaintiff and defense, and having used many doctors as “expert” witnesses, Miz Poe can tell you first hand, that you can ALWAYS find a doctor who will say ANYTHING for the right amount of money.
My experience with docs as experts as well. You can find one to opine as you like provided the price is right. I encountered many who wanted over $10k to take an engagement and more if they were called to testify at trial.
I really gots to watch more TV shows that aren’t classic Westerns…or lawers (HT to Barbara Hale and Catherine Bell). I had to do a Google Wiki Foo to figure out who the bobble headed bimbo was. Was not familiar with this skrunt or her cock hubby. Odd using that word, familiar, in reference to her. Notice that it is a combination of the words family and liar. We are all a product of our environment and after reading her history I understand more why she would think “Orange Man Bad.” Her Daddy was Zigi (he told a whopper or 2), she grew up around Jimmuh Cahrtah, cheated on her FIRST husband and had been married by Elisha Cummings (remember him? May he rot in hell as Satan devours his worthless Soul).
I do not agree with your opinion “lady”(/s/) but I will defend your right to have one. And as we all know, opinions are like azzholes…and you are one.
Two clowns from MSDNC, a bigger D-rat party propaganda wing than CNN!
She is just speculating as to why the hell Trump has pushed so hard to politicize this drug. I think he just saw a conspiracy theory tweet that the drug was a miracle cure being suppressed by the deep state to crash economy and hurt Trump’s re-election chances. He announced it because to him this pandemic is not a public health issue, it is a public relations issue. And he wanted to shift responsibility and blame to the “deep state”. It is pretty god damn pathetic that his feedback loop of minions then all latched onto it as though he must be right and this drug must be the cure all. I know his minions and cultists put obedience to party narratives over fact or science. I am just astonished at how easily and how fast they are willing to do it. I thought it took years of propaganda to generate the climate change denier movement. Turns out all it takes is a single moron bloviating about it and virtue signaling it as a necessary tribal belief. Then everyone latches on, This board was touting the treatment before most of the members touting it knew a damn thing about the virus. At the time there was only two pieces of evidence supporting its possible effectiveness. And both were extremely anecdotal by medical standards. A Chinese white paper based on an ad hoc observational “study” of 28 patients, that was a complete mess. And a second Chinese ad hoc study that was even worse. The second one several of the patients receiving the drug weren’t counted. Because “they didn’t complete their course of treatment”. Two had died a few were sent to the ICU, and another could not safely tolerate the drug. Then the asshat who wrote the paper determined the effectiveness rate using a denominator that did not include all the failed patient treatments. It was a ridiculous study. Not counting the dead because they didn’t complete the course of treatment. Not to mention those sent to the ICU If you died while taking a medication you completed the damn… Read more »

“……..pushed so hard to politicize this drug.”
Politicize? How politicize? You mean, as in, only Republitards can take it?
Kommissar, you’re so full of shiite, both your eyes AND hair are brown.
You’re so full of shiite, if you’re ever fed through a wood chipper (think the end of Fargo), you could fertilize five acres of crop land. No, I retract that, you would POISON five acres of crop land.
Funny Lars,
You state only two pieces of evidence that support its possible use, but ignore the only true one. The Virologist in the Caribbean who tried it in a closed trial of 19 patients who tested positive for COVID-19 and all recovered. He is the one that the CDC latched onto, and they have now begun other clinical trials to confirm his findings.
Not your quack studies by the WHO endorsed Chinese research that is circular.
Got a link to that study? I couldn’t find it with a quick search.
I am cautiously optimistic about HCQ, but I personally don’t find the data to be clear yet – a significant effect would persist across multiple studies, and yet there are conflicting results. Here are two articles that cover both the good and bad, I think:
1) https://blogs.sciencemag.org/pipeline/archives/2020/04/06/hydroxychloroquine-update-for-april-6
2) https://www.businessinsider.com/coronavirus-treatment-clinical-data-on-hydroxychloroquine-in-covid-19-2020-4
To reiterate my position from earlier, I’m all for doctors prescribing HCQ for patients when they feel it’s warranted. And I’m hopeful that expanded trials will show a stronger signal in the noisy results we already have. But I do think the jury is still out on its effectiveness. I’m always happy to see additional studies that point to a positive effect, though.
Here’s a link to some pretty convincing evidence:
https://techstartups.com/2020/03/31/dr-vladimir-zelenko-provides-important-update-three-drug-regimen-hydroxychloroquine-sulfate-zinc-azithromycin-z-pak-used-effectively-treat-699-coronavirus-patients-100-su/
Interesting – thank you, I’ll dig into this a bit more soon.
Try this one. Not his paper, but story about it.

Thanks, I’ll try to read that soon.
“But I do think the jury is still out on its effectiveness.”
Good thing for the world that you and Lars aren’t calling the shots. I shudder to think how many good people might die before you, Lars and the stiff-necked medical purists who think like you, are sufficiently satisfied that it’s effective for generalized use.
Sheez!
I know this is a seemingly complicated thought for you, but once again, I’m fine with doctors prescribing it. I just don’t know whether it’s effective yet.
If you do, you’re ahead of many, many doctors. It must be hard to be a super-genius like that – able to explain away the studies that show no effect, and simply dismiss the concerns people have had with some of the ones that did.
This is a signal/noise issue. And in non-blind studies there’s also the possibility of placebo effects, which I’m sure you know is a real thing. The signal is simply not strong enough to say definitively that it helps, otherwise there’d be medical consensus.
I hope it works. And I hope that as the other variables are accounted for -age, comorbidity, contraindications, etc- the effect is even more pronounced. But saying it’s effective, period, and not quantifying that or justifying it is a far cry from proving its usefulness. Sheez.
“I know this is a seemingly complicated thought for you…”
LC, I don’t disagree with you because I’m incapable of following your self-supposed, sophisticated, complicated thinking–I disagree with you most often because I AM capable of recognizing the usually-fallacious, pseudo-sophisticated thinking of those with whom you most frequently seem to align yourself, the demonstrably dishonest mainstream media and liberal academia.
Like Lars, and most definitely unlike the majority of veterans here at TAH, your positions in your comments most often fall in line with those of sources that I, and many others here at TAH, simply no longer trust, due to their demonstrated bias and dishonesty, not to mention their dripping condescension and utter contempt for folks like us.
Thousands of physicians all over the world are reporting positive treatment results with varying hydroxychloroquine protocols, and you dredge up this 11 patient study in which 8 of the patients have serious unrelated morbidity issues and the treatment for some doesn’t include the azythromycin component?
What I’m for is following that course of action which yields the most positive results for the greatest number of people in the shortest amount of time. PERIOD.
And I don’t give a rat’s ass about all your precious studies until we get this thing cooled down and have time for such formal niceties.
That’s my uncomplicated thinking.
I’m with you, Poe, on the general utilization of HCQ as both a treatment and prophylactic for the virus. I’ve been thinking all along about how many of our some 10k deaths might have been prevented with treatment with HCQ.
The Chinese knew about HCQ early on, the French trials proved ultimately successful early enough to encourage near universal treatment.
As for “Morning Joe”, that scamp abandoned his seat as the representative for the first congressional district of Florida and a sweet pretty wife to be a really dippy media face.
Yep, the dude definitely traded down to get that bottle blond fatass.
Lars…Lars…Lars….I’m so disappointed in your continued use of propaganda talking points as citations and reference.
Will you ever graduate from 7th grade?
You are weak sauce and I now see that you are not only a liar, but a dimwitted fool.
Keep up the struggle, comrade. Someone has to speak power against truth, eh?
Well, when
CommunistSoviet-style Socialist“Progressive” talking points are all someone knows – and all they’ve got – what else do you expect? The Leftist Mob: “Let science decide…(Orange Man Bad!)”
Doctors practicing throughout the world, not TV doctors, have been prescribing this medicine for 65 years for a variety of ailments with negligible side effects.
The Leftist Mob: “Not enough data…(Orange Man Bad!)
TDS at its worst. The goal of The Leftist Mob is total destruction of the world as we know it, and to rebuild it the exact same way except the The Leftist Mob is in total control with pesky democracy out of the way. Casualties are of no concern as long as the The Leftist Mob comes out running the show…can’t have voters possibly picking the wrong candidate like they did in 2016…can’t have that again…(Orange Man Bad!)
The Comrade Commissar’s entire rant about politicizing is exactly what The Left has done since Trump won. He’s just a parrot of what is on CNN, MSNBC, Salon.com, ect…
I can’t speak for the ‘Leftist Mob’, but I think the caution from many scientists and doctors is not because they wish to usher in the destruction of the world as we know it,… but rather, quite simply, everyone wants to find effective treatments, and that requires a focus on whichever way the data leads, as opposed to backing -or opposing, yes!- something based on political alignment.
There’s a balancing act to maintain – keeping potentially life-saving drugs from people is obviously bad, but being unable to explore potentially better drugs because everyone wants to try the popular one is also bad. What if Ivermectin is more effective, but the hype around HCQ prevents us from exploring it? Doesn’t that cost lives, too?
I’m not sure what the right answer is except to focus on the data, not the politics. And it seems that strong opinions on HCQ’s effectiveness aren’t warranted by the mixed results -some good, some not good- we’re seeing. Should doctors be able to prescribe it in certain situations? Sure, I’m all for giving doctors tons of latitude. But I’d prefer the medical community decide on treatments without the noise of politics interfering.
If people are dying, what’s the harm in trying it? That’s the whole thing with the right to try legislation from a couple years back (that was bipartisan!).
For the doctors that don’t want to try and instead wait two years for peer reviewed, double-blind studies showing its efficacy, they’re really just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.
Once again, I have no problem with doctors prescribing it – and they do have that freedom. If I get sick, and my doctor thinks I’m a good fit for trying it, by all means, I’d want to.
But, as I said above, I’d prefer the medical community to make that decision outside undue influence from politicos. Even if it’s ultimately the same recommendation.
To put it differently, in the lead-up to the OBL raid, had President Obama said to JSOC, “OK, I want the military to use DEVGRU, loaned to SAC, to fly in from Jalalabad on modified Black Hawks”, then that’d be pretty stupid – these decisions should be left to the mission commanders. Even if, ultimately, it’s the same plan that they decided on. Guess I’m now a ‘small government’ conservative, right?
Face the facts…If Trump wasn’t behind HCQ as a treatment but WHO was pushing it then I’m sure plenty more people would be on board. Trump isn’t saying its a cure-all. He’s saying its something we already have and shows promise, so lets use it. He’s not saying stop all research into other possible treatments and antidotes. Your disdain for Trump is obvious, but I’m sure if you or someone you cared about was infected you/they would taking HQC instead of ‘waiting for the scientists to do more research.
First and foremost, Trump has never said or suggested it should be taken by anyone without a doctor’s prescription and without medical supervision. The Orange Man Bad psychos are only arguing against its use because it just another point of attack. The fact they are still saying the crazy D-rat prog that fed fish tank powder to her husband but was taking this medicine is all the proof one needs
But he did tell that couple to drink aquarium cleaner. I saw it on the news that Trump ordered them to drink it, so it’s gotta be true.
If you read Wanda’s deposition from her EEO lawsuit against her employer circa 2012, she explains how many prescription medications she takes under doctor’s supervision and how much she hates her husband that she had filed to divorce. It makes one wonder whether she was deliberately trying to poison him. Especially since the packaging warns, “not for human consumption” and that this product shouldn’t be used in tanks for fish intended for human consumption.
To play devil’s advocate, people ingest a lot of shit that’s “not for human consumption.”
I have less problem with WHO pushing it (even if I still prefer it be left to individual doctors) since they’re medical people.
This isn’t an anti-Trump stance; I hope to god he’s right about the effect of the drugs. I just think that this should be left to the doctors, not the politicians. Much like, in my reply above, I think operational military plans should be left to the experts, and not politicians.
And as I also said above, if I get sick, and my doctor suggests we try it, I’m all for it. I’m not hoping it fails, I’m just saying that we’re a ways off from saying it’s the definitive treatment. Do you really think it’s going to be easy to recruit people for trials of other drugs when the biggest microphone in the world is saying this is the one that works? Would you volunteer for something that nobody is talking about?
Again, wanting doctors to make decisions outside of political influence isn’t the end of the world. It’s how we’ve gotten by for ages.
“Would you volunteer for something that nobody is talking about?”
Fortunately that’s not so complicated that ol’ Poe can’t recognize it as being patently silly, LC.
People volunteer for drug studies all the time to determine the efficacy of drugs no one has ever heard of, much less is talking about.
Many of the people who volunteer for drug studies do so for compensation and most of those that do don’t know zip about the drug study itself.
Um…”Double blind?”
At 76 I don’t know what my status for HCQ treatment would be but if I were laying a hospital bed with my lungs filling up I would want to be pumped full of it.
I’d also like to know about any elderly patients that may have been treated with HCQ. Success rates, etc.
Well, the doctor on TuCa’s show tonight has a 96 year old father who thought he was going to die from the virus after he had been sick for over a week. His doc put him on this drug cocktail and he was up and about in only 36 hours. So there is one example for you.
Makes me feel better. Thanks
My neighbor’s father took it and his condition has improved greatly. He is in his late 80s. He was rushed to the hospital Wednesday and today his is doing better from taking it

Oh for fuck’s sake. You regularly and predictably regurgitate progressive talking points, nearly all of which can be readily dismissed by anyone with a drop of common sense and high school education, and then have the balls to call us cultists? Have you ever had a single, original thought? Have you ever listened to Nancy Pelosi before you accuse conservatives of politicizing this pandemic? I’m convinced you’ve got a hidden USB port on your body, hardwired to your washed brain, where you Berkeley handlers plug in your daily fill of leftist, progressive, propaganda-loaded bullshit.
California needs to plant a forest to replace the oxygen you’ve consumed.
Off topic like all hell, just have to leave this for the seagull. Have a nice day larsi boi! My apologies to Admin! 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆

He is likely paid to do this shit, probably by the word. Either that or he was so thoroughly brainwashed by his communist masters that he will post anything he is instructed to parrot.

Piece work is a tough way to make a living.
Ask anyone that ever worked in a shoe shop.
The commies loved to plant their seeds in such
places but Capitalism beat them to the punch
and shipped the manufacturing to China.
Talk is cheap.
I doubt that he is paid to do it. One theory I have is that he’s SO desperate for attention that he comes here to seek it thinking that the intelligence he thinks that he has will pop up in one of his posts and switch us all to his way of thinking, the other is that he shows his posted drivel to his profs thinking that it will get him Kudos from them, either way it’s in a quest for attention!
Actually, most people cited the French study, and described it as small, but promising, so you’re wrong as usual there.
On a different topic, are you a virologist? an epidemiologist? a doctor? hell, even a first responder??? I didn’t think so, which means you opinion is worth not a damn bit more than anyone else on here, and considering the medical background / connections of may of us, it’s actually worth a damn sight less, so here’s a suggestion, how about you shut the hell up about shit you have no clue about, and let the adults talk seagull.
Isn’t it ironic that those who insist we follow established protocols when it comes to hydroxychloroquine think that a guy like Captain Crozier is a hero for refusing to follow established Navy protocols for treating shipboard viral outbreaks?

The the puppet masters in the media
And there robots in the DNC never fail to amaze me
Odd, I thought the job of journos was reporting the news, not speculating without facts. Small wonder MSNBC, CNN and the like are tanking in ratings.
I decided to look up the ratings, and while this article is two weeks old now, apparently CNN’s ratings have jumped up 119% – a bigger increase than Fox and MSNBC, though Fox still has the lion’s share of viewers.
In other words, saying MSNBC and CNN are tanking in ratings is … ‘fake news’. 😉
https://www.newsweek.com/ratings-skyrocket-cable-news-amid-wall-wall-coronavirus-coverage-1493836
That what I get for referencing old data. Good thing the COVID-19 is around to buoy their ratings, but it’s still Trump’s fault.
*grin*
Absolutely. I stubbed my toe today and blamed him, too. Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump are responsible for 99.5% of the world’s problems, don’tcha know?
Going from two viewers to six sounds more impressive when you say it’s a 300% increase.
Going from two to six would still be an increase; that’s not ‘tanking’.
Talk about tanking.
Or perhaps more correctly: going in the tank.
Although in your case, probably both…
Hydroxychloriquine is an off patent, generic drug, it’s cheap to make and many companies make it under a plethora of brand names. This drug doesn’t make these companies a ton of money. It’s a maintenance drug for those people with lupus. SMH these people in the MSM are stupid.
I wonder how many of these drug denier demorats whom contracted the virus would turn down this drug that has been around for years if they were on their deathbeds. Like the old saying goes: their are no athiests in a fox hole.
There are no drug deniers residing in an I.C.U.
Unless they’re leftists so stupid they’d win the Darwin Award for virtue signaling… which seems like many today. (They’d catch COVID-19 and die just to spite Trump.)
I ‘spect that there are some drugs being taken, or possibly psych meds not being taken, among these talking heads.
I pay less attention to them than to a yapping chihuahua.
That LDS shit really can fuck with your mind…
That’s still my favorite Star Trek movie. Even though Khan and Undiscovered Country are better movies, The Voyage Home is just fun.
I love how Scotty tries to interact with the Mac by talking to it. Scotty, played by James Doohan who was a Canadian artillery officer at Juno Beach on D-Day.
Right middle finger shot-off on D-Day… by friendly fire, unfortunately.
Well this just occurred on my end of the world.

Ironically enough, Hollywood has already answered this one, with a line from Vincent “Hey Joker” D’Onofrio in “Jurassic World:”

The headline should read “Mika Brzezinski has ties to mescaline”.
