Well, Well, Well

| April 4, 2020

Apparently the PRC may be having significantly worse – and more recent – problems with the 2019 Wuhan Coronavirus than they’ve admitted to date. And the initial outbreak may well also have been far worse than the PRC has acknowledged.

Reportedly, Jia county in Henan province (also in the central PRC, but a different province than Hubei province in which the virus outbreak apparently originated) was reportedly placed on near-total lockdown last Tuesday due to an outbreak of the virus.

Meanwhile, the PRC officially reported a grand total of 36 new cases of the virus last Wednesday – with all but one of them being characterized as “imported cases”.

Additionally, even the WaPo is now reporting that the actual death toll in Hubei province alone may be around 40,000 – which is about 16x higher than the total the PRC has reported for the entire country to date. (Viewing the WaPo article requires unblocking ads, but the pertinent portion of the WaPo article is excerpted here.

Looks to me like the PRC has been “stonewalling” things concerning the virus at least about 1 January – when authorities in Hubei province ordered viral samples destroyed, testing stopped, implemented a clampdown on news associated with the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak, and started persecuting medical personnel for making public statements or engaging in public discussion concerning the situation. And it would have been great to know the actual severity of the outbreak 3+ months ago – as well as the fact that the disease readily spread from person-to-person, which the PRC officially denied for weeks after Chinese medical authorities knew otherwise – because that damn well would have changed many of the actions the US and the rest of the world took since 1 January.

If the above is true, it also looks like the PRC may have a lot of blood on its hands – worldwide. Their actions, inaction, and outright mendacity may well have allowed what should have been a serious but localized viral outbreak to become a global pandemic.

Anybody who takes chicom stats at face value is either beyond stupid or a commie shill, or probably both…

    • Hondo says:

What bothers me worse is the deliberate withholding of information concerning person-to-person spread by PRC authorities.

For weeks PRC authorities consistently insisted that person-to-person spread of the virus had not been demonstrated (or words to that effect). This continued until at least 21 January – or about a month after Chinese medical personnel had warned that person-to-person transmission appeared to be occurring. On 23 January, PRC authorities began quarantining Wuhan.

In other words: in a style reminiscent of Stalin’s USSR, PRC officials “sent the messenger bearing bad news to the gulag” (via persecuting medical personnel who’d initially raised that alarm) and continued to deny reality until events forced their hand.

The timing is quite significant. Chinese New Year celebrations traditionally occur from New Year’s Eve through 15 January starting a few days before the Lunar New Year, which was 25 January this year – and many families gather then for a traditional annual reunion dinner. In today’s PRC, that often means traveling a substantial distance.

It almost appears as if the threat of the 2019 Wuhan coronavirus was being intentionally downplayed (if not ignored) in order to avoid disrupting traditional Chinese New Year celebrations and related travel.

(Note: updated to correct previous error regarding dates of Chinese New Year celebrations.)

Yes, the chicoms continuously lie to its own people and to the world. The chicoms still insist that Mao’s “The Great Leap Forward” agricultural holocaust was a smashing success…

Remember, the Chinese are the “MIDDLE KINGDOM” and the rest of the world is the maggots below.

And that middle is somewhat broad.

      • David says:

Small corection, Chinese New Year was January 25th. Most celebrations start near that, and the week after is the holiday time off. Most factories try to close to do annual maintenance etc. the week following the holiday.

        • Hondo says:

My error. The source I consulted could have been clearer (it appeared at first glance to make a distinction between Chinese New Year and Lunar New Year celebrations) – but I should have recognized that they were referring to the same holiday anyway. Thanks for the correction.

FWIW: in Wuhan, there was apparently a communal “pot luck” Lunar New Year banquet held on 18 January in which 40,000 families participated. That was five days before the PRC decided to quarantine Wuhan – and one full week before the Lunar New Year.

But it was also nearly a month after Chinese doctors had warned that the virus was spread person-to-person.

^THIS^ Spot on CH. And I’m still taking bids on that ocean front property I’ve got in South Dakota for those true believers. Y’all better hurry to get your bids in, cause 2 of the approach bridges already have deposits on them.

Read this on evening past when Senior FIRST posted it. Been looking for my shocked face ever since. I have been pointing at the Communist Government of China for their causing this Chinese Originated Viral Infecting Disease of 2019 (COVID19) over there while they’re blaming everyone else.

Blood on their hands…indeed. Send the bastards a bill for the entire cost, including the hit that all of the stock markets took. If anything good at all comes from this fiasco, it will be the bringing back to the USA much of our critical manufacturing ability.

  3. Skippy says:

I was right I knew this was worse
There are several underground activists in China
Minus 3 now their reporting on this started in mid December
All said that it had been going on since early to mid November
They didn’t even take this seriously until early January
They probably have had conservatively so far between
3.0 to 5.0 million cases with deaths around 300,000 easily
Why the media over here believing these lying sacks of shit
    Is beyond me

    • Hondo says:

We don’t really know just how bad it is in the PRC, Skippy. They appear to be keeping that info to themselves.

But with a population of 1.3 billion or so generally living in much closer proximity to one another than is common in the West, I’d guess it’s been far worse than the 82.5+k total cases and 3.3k total deaths that the PRC has acknowledged to date. We just don’t yet know how much worse.

FWIW: Wuhan is the PRC’s 9th largest city. Estimates of its population on Wikipedia range from approaching 8M to over 10M. And literally millions of individuals are believed to have departed Hubei province (Wuhan is the capital of Hubei) prior to implementation of quarantine.

      • Skippy says:

This area is around the size of
New Mexico with a population of
        Around 125 million plus
We have already seen how fast a cold virus
Spreads in a high population area
This is no different the figures for Iran are also
Way off the true numbers are astronomical

        • Hondo says:

I wouldn’t be surprised to find you’re right, Skippy. But as of now, we just don’t know for sure.

FWIW: if the estimates of 40k dead in Wuhan Hubei province are accurate, the PRC’s own data implies that means over 990k have contracted the disease there alone. The PRC’s “official” data shows about a 4% mortality rate.

          • Skippy says:

            From what I’m seeing
            They are reporting
1 percent of total in Hubei
It’s time for them to move a
Few labs into the western China

    • marinedad61 says:

Today’s joke (fake) numbers coming in from CHINA.

      * 5 new local transmissions reported, all in Guangdong

  4. Skippy says:

Hell Taiwan in mid December reported the severity to wHo they ignored it we know a lot more then
Our media knows why in the hell is there a
Love Hate on the anti malaria drug is a wonder
It works our CDC got caught again with their pants
down probably because chi-coms have been paying then or certain individuals off that’s how they work
    They leaned from the Clintons

    • Hondo says:

I don’t think the CDC is largely to blame here, Skippy. I think they simply got burned by the PRC keeping this under wraps until they were forced to acknowledge it was bad. I’m relatively certain that they’d have done many things differently if they knew in early Jan that the disease was spreading via person-to-person transmission.

The one place I’ll fault the US govt’s response – and this may have been done and I’m simply not privy to it – is that we appear to have accepted the PRC’s assurances in late Dec/Jan concerning the disease without engaging the Intel community and telling them, “Verify that the PRC is telling us the truth about this virus and how bad it is. Pull out all the stops and find out the ‘ground truth’.”

We may have done that, but I can’t help but think we didn’t until much later than New Years Day. I could be wrong.

      • Skippy says:

To many EO and Drag queen contest for the CDC

WHO is a travesty on a par with the UN. Of course US tax dollars pay the majority of its funding. This should change, and soon.

    • Hondo says:

The WHO certainly appears to have been parroting the PRC’s line until after the PRC started quarantining Wuhan. Of course, there’s no telling how much PRC authorities were letting the WHO know early on.

  6. HMCS(FMF) ret says:

The Chinese Communist Party lied about SARS… kept it as a “state secret” for years. They haven’t changed in the almost 20 years since then.

Looks like a page out of Stalin’s playbook in the 1920’s and 1030’s in regards to the famines that swept the old USSR. They even had a lackey that carried their water for them about how there wasn’t a famine and that how everything was all hunky dory in that workers paradise (Walter Duranty).

The CCP has people in the press and the ‘net that carry their “message”… and some of them are blatant about it.

  11. Milo Mindbender says:

According to open source ELint there are 21 million fewer active cell phone numbers in PRC last month than there were in 12/2019.
This may be an indicator of the extent of the damage created/suffered there.
21 million is a very small number in a country of 1.6 billion works out to about .013%.
Not believing CCP/WHO data is a given fact.

    • OldSoldier54 says:

I suspect this may be the smoking gun indicating the true death numbers.

I wonder if we’ll ever know?

  12. IDC SARC says:

Our own statistics gathering and even basic definitions, i.e. what constitutes a COVID-19 death are already skewed. States are trying to list any death they possibly can as a COVID-19 death even if the infection was found post mortem, the patient was asymptomatic and the finding was purely incidental…i.e. a patient in coma and multisystem decline after massive injury succumbs to his trauma and just happens to test COVID-19 positive.

With the push to make orange man bad ad perpetuum who knows how many deaths are listed and actually weren’t even positive (or tested) for the virus in death. There are actually very few checks and balances when it comes to whatever the fukk a physician writes on a death certificate…and of course the vast majority of deaths do not receive an autopsy anyway.

  13. timactual says:

I have been wondering about that. Seems like all we have heard about is Wuhan in Hubei province. What has been happening in the rest of China? Seems odd that the rest of China has not had similar outbreaks.

    • ArmyATC says:

That’s because the PRiCs are so damned good they pretty much stopped the virus from infecting the rest of the country. If you believe that I have some stock I’d like to sell.

What really pisses me off is the effing idiots that are blaming Trump for it all and cannot see what is happening.

That is how “laowhy86” begins this succinct video exploring the ‘facts’ – not conspiracies – behind the source of the coronavirus that is ravaging the earth.

“China doesn’t operate like ‘your’ country,” he warns, “the Chinese government is a face- and greed-driven government that relies on lies and bullying to maintain leadership.”

    • rgr769 says:

This report in the video is the best info out there on where the virus most probably originated in Wuhan—from one of the two virology labs doing research on bat viruses. Both labs are only level 2 bio secure. This epidemic raged there for two months while the Chinese commies lied and concealed the nature of the outbreak.
