Democrat Illinois Governor Says Gun Stores “Essential Businesses”

| March 22, 2020

Hard to believe this was an oversight by Pritzker since it specifically mentions Gun Stores as essential.

Democrat Illinois Governor J.D. Pritzker issued the usual ‘Stay at home’ order that includes the shutdown of businesses amid the COVID-19 outbreak, but exempted gun stores as “essential businesses” for security and safety of the people.  The stance blew the minds of everyone from gun-rights advocates to anti-gun Democrats.

The Democrat Illinois governor issued his Executive order to  go into effect at 5 p.m. on March 21. Businesses labelled as essential could continue operating, businesses labelled as non-essential were supposed to close.

“When an anti-gun Democrat Governor declares that essential businesses includes firearm and ammunition suppliers and retailers for purposes of safety and security, that is really a big deal. Every Governor should copy the Illinois example when issuing stay in place and business closure orders in the face of the Corona Virus.” Alan Gottlieb, Second Amendment Foundation (Breitbart)

Of late, we’ve been writing about states like California, Colorado, and others who have labelled gun stores as “non-essential.”  Police have even been dispatched to force their closure. Now, we have the Democrat Illinois Governor doing just the opposite, making the gun industry important enough to be listed as essential.

Pritzker’s Stay at Home Executive Order reads, in part:

Supplies for Essential Businesses and Operations. Businesses that sell, manufacture, or supply other Essential Businesses and Operations with the support or materials necessary to operate, including computers, audio and video
electronics, household appliances; IT and telecommunication equipment; hardware, paint, flat glass; electrical, plumbing and heating material; sanitary equipment; personal hygiene products; food, food additives, ingredients and
components; medical and orthopedic equipment; optics and photography equipment; diagnostics, food and beverages, chemicals, soaps and detergent; and firearm and ammunition suppliers and retailers for purposes of safety and security;

So will backlash cause the Democrat Illinois Governor to amend his EO? We hope not. Gun suppliers truly are essential, especially in a time of crisis, as people are in need of a way to protect themselves in case idiots try to steal what they have in their homes.

Gun Nutz in The Land of Lincoln should be happy to hear that.  Amazing to see how these clowns turn on a time when things get real.

Liquor stores aren’t essential, but pot shops are.

So ten people can assemble peaceably under the first amendment. Now add personal firearms to
those ten people under the second amendment.
Is the assmbled group still considered peaceable?

Are the first and second amendments mutually exclusive
under these restraints on free assembly?

Not gettin all tin foil here just thinking ahead.

Tin foil? Hold my Coca-Cola and watch this….

The closures are meant to prevent 270 legitimate Electors from being chosen, or at least prevent acceptance of them, thus forcing the vote for President to the current House of Representatives.

11B you may not be jesting there on the election. The domestic enemies of our country have tried everything else to impede Trump’s progress, why not this tactic?

I think the only reason the guv excepted the gunz stores is because of the massive amounts of state sales tax they collect that is added to weapon sales.

Got a good friend just outside of E. St. Louis, retired wingwiper. He tell me this guvernator is a real piece of work and is on par with most of the rest of the ones they have had for decades. The demonrat political party machine in the PDRofIL rivals anything that Tamery Hall ever had.

Nothing he does is without a reason… From NPR:

In the final weeks of the Illinois governor’s race, one unusual topic has been stealing headlines: J.B. Pritzker’s toilets.

Governor Pritzker, an heir to the Hyatt Hotel fortune is worth $5.2 billion. In 2007 he and his wife bought a second mansion next to theirs on Chicago’s Astor Street for $3.7 million. They allowed it to fall into disrepair.

In October 2015, according to a report by Cook County Inspector General Patrick Blanchard, the Pritzkers had five toilets removed from the second house so that it would be classified as “uninhabitable” in a property tax appeal filed by the Pritzkers. Cook County assesses vacant properties at 10 percent of the market value.

The toilets were removed shortly before the affidavits in the property tax appeal were submitted. The county assessor’s office “lowered the 6,378-square-foot mansion’s assessed value from $6.3 million to about $1.1 million,” The Chicago Tribune reports.

As a result, the inspector general writes, “the County ultimately fell victim to a scheme to defraud … which resulted in the property owner ultimately receiving property tax refunds totaling $132,747.18 for the years 2012, 2013 and 2014, as well as additional tax savings of $198,684.85 for the years 2015 and 2016.”

    • The Other Whitey says:

Pritzker comes from San Francisco old money, and his family are among the half-dozen SF old-money empires that bought Gavin Shitbag Newsom’s mayorship and later governorship. Other billionaire families on that list include the Gettys, the Buells, and the Fishers. The dems bleed blue in more ways than one.

I still can’t figure out how an organization that’s so blatantly bought & paid for as the DNC can still have people thinking that it is, or ever was, the “party of the little guy.”

Oh man. They finally did us in.
They tried with the Russian and Ukrainian bullshit, with almost 4 years of repeating Goebbelian and Orwellian lies until they became truth for a sizable percentage of our population, and now thanks to Chi-com mismanagement they finally got their coup d’état on our economy.

    Good Bye, America the Beautiful.
    The Democrats are coming.

I’m thinking the second week of April for a start on coming back to speed.
That is enough time to disseminate the data regarding this disease and what works and what doesn’t work.
The current thinking is Azithromycin along with gin and tonics, oops I meant hydroxychloroquine concurrently has a solid 100% cure rate.
If that is true for the next week look for the second week of April to become the time that America will get back on her feet.
We have a much more resilient economy than any of the socialist countries around the world and I look for the bounceback to be a huge expansion of our economy.
That expansion will give America a huge advantage as well as a huge responsibility to restructure major disasters of pretty much any type.
There is always a silver liner to any storm cloud, this one will probably be a huge Sterling Silver liner as the evidence of the utter and complete failure of any and all socialist/globalist regimes is proven to all but the most stubbornly stupid ignoramuses…Also, this other fact will be proven. The advantages of solid borders, nationalistic policies and the real value of an ingrained self sufficient free market capitalistic government….
These things will be much to the chagrin of numerous posters here on the absolute best Milblog on the interwebz !!!!!
Kick ass America, piss ’em all off` !!!
