Home Intruder Clings To Life After Being Shot In Head By Young Dad Protecting His Family
A young family is safe today thanks to 2A, and the criminal who broke into their Alabama home is clinging to life after sustaining multiple gunshots.

A man who broke into an Alabama home is clinging to life after sustaining a gunshot to the head by the homeowner who was protecting his family. This is another 2A success story where a good guy with a gun stopped a bad guy. And today, the homeowner’s wife and young child are alive and safe.

Charles Virgil Bowne lives in the same neighborhood as the home that he broke into. The 39-year-old was taken by helicopter to the hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds to the head, bicep, shoulder, and left leg at 4:45 AM on Monday morning.

Crime doesn’t pay and it might end up costing Bowne his life.

Sheriff Bill Franklin painted a picture that Bowne broke into the home to rob the young family. Instead, the wannabe thief was greeted with gunfire. He picked the wrong house.

“I got a young couple in their 20s; daddy, momma and a young child at home when daddy hears a commotion in the front of the house,” Sheriff Franklin reports. “He arms himself with a 9 mm handgun and goes to investigate. He sees Mr. Bowne standing in the living room and Mr. Bowne tells him ‘Give me you (stuff).’ Mr. Bowne then makes a move like he’s going into his front pocket and the homeowner fires several times.

80-year-old Arkansas man shoots teen breaking into his home

by: Peter Fleischer
HUGHES, Ark. — A burglary suspect is recovering after being shot while another is on the run after they tried to break into a man’s house twice.

Thieves broke into 80-year-old Fred Burkes’ home two nights in a row.

Early Monday morning, he heard noises and found two men taking his 55-inch flatscreen TV.

“They ran out the house,” Burkes said. “And then I looked again, and my TV was gone.”

Burkes boarded up his front door with a wooden board, hoping it would prevent a future break-in.

Neighbors say they saw two men circling the block just hours later. One neighbor said they were watching Burke’s house very closely.

Burkes says the thieves struck again around 2 a.m. on Tuesday. They climbed through a back window and he says they tried to get into his bedroom. Burkes says they started asking him where his money was.

He began pushing against the door to keep them out but when they started threatening him, he took action.

“I reach and got my shotgun …” Burkes said.

Burkes shot one suspect in his bedroom doorway while the other ran off.

Hughes police says both suspects are juveniles with histories of prior break-ins. The one who was shot is still recovering.

Off-duty officer shoots, kills man outside Colorado Springs Carl’s Jr.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A man is dead after a shooting in the drive-thru area of a Colorado Springs Carl’s Jr. Thursday morning.

Police said the shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. at the restaurant near the intersection of Powers Boulevard and Galley Road. Police said an off-duty officer was in the drive-thru when a man approached and said he had a gun. The officer fired at least one shot, hitting and killing the man.

The officer was not injured.

Police said just before the shooting happened, they were called to a robbery at a gas station in the same block. Police are working to determine if the man who was killed was involved in the gas station robbery.

The officer who fired the shots had just gotten off his shift and was not involved in investigating the robbery, according to police.

Police said the scene is expected to be active for most of Thursday.

The runner will be wrapped up as soon as his partner recovers enough to make a deal with the Prosecutor, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. Nice shooting by the off-duty cop, too.

Good shooting, dad in Alabama! Multiple hits on a perp in a time of stress. You are a GO at this station, no further range time needed.

And a big booming shout out to 80y.o. Mr Burke, who was able to stop juvie punk thieves from further mayhem in his home. The walls will need some spackle and paint to cover the shotgun pellet holes, but that’s a small cost for peace of mind.

And last, talk about bad timing. What are the odds of a thief trying to hold up an armed off duty cop? Bet he won’t do that again.

Proof once again that Mr Ed loves us, as pictured in that Kimber Stainless Gold Match of the 1911 design from the saintly John Moses Browning (Ma Deuce be his name)

I’ll just add this, too, in re the Kimber; If the ‘Bama dad woulda, coulda, had oughta had the Kimber 1911, stead of that wimpy 9mm, crack pipe boy wounda not hada free chopper ride.

Dad in Alabama obviously learned one of the most important rules: Don’t shoot till you think he’s dead, shoot until HE thinks he’s dead.

5/77 – at the risk of beating a dead horse, I’ll take a good 9mm HP over .45 ball any day of the week. However, a good .45 HP beats both.

I bought the Kimber .45 Ultra carry sub compact 3in. barrel a few years ago and they included an L shaped piece of piano wire to capture the recoil spring when it is field stripped. After my Bernie lover upstairs neighbor told me about the surgical mask being sold out, I bumped into him at publix 15 minutes later and we started talking about guns and he asked me if I heard anything about Kimber having problems with their guns. Anyone hear anything about this?? My neighbor must have around 20 guns, rifles and handguns and is a liberal.
