Vancouver homeowner shoots, kills suspected burglar
The homeowner and his family were not injured

by: Elise Haas, Jacquelyn Abad
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man was shot and killed while breaking into a home overnight, according to Vancouver police.

Vancouver PD responded to what they believe was a burglary around 10:20 p.m. in the River View Neighborhood along Southeast Beach Drive. Police said an unknown man kicked in a back door and was inside the home when he was confronted by the homeowner, who had a gun.

The burglar charged the homeowner, who fired and shot the suspect. The suspect ran outside and collapsed. When authorities arrived the suspect was already dead.

The homeowner and his family were not injured.

One woman who lives in the neighborhood said she’s sorry for the tragedy that someone died “for trinkets or whatever. It wasn’t worth it. But I totally support the homeowner’s desire to protect themselves.”

Suspects shot breaking into home a second time

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The Reno Police Department released new details into a shooting and house fire in the 900 block of Bates Avenue early Monday morning.

The incident was reported just before 3AM on February 10, 2020.

Investigators say two juveniles, broke into an addition off the main house, looking for a 14-year-old who lives at the home. They were confronted by an adult who was armed with a gun. Investigators say one of the suspects pointed a gun at the adult, and the adult opened fire, shooting both suspects.

One suspect was found at the scene. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The other suspect left the scene, but checked into a hospital after getting shot in the leg. He was later arrested.

Part of the home also caught fire. It’s unclear how the fire started.

Investigators say two days prior to the shooting, the same suspects had broken into the home and beat up the 14-year-old who lives there. Police also say the suspects had threatened to return.

A Norfolk man fired deadly shot in self defense, prosecutors say as they drop a murder case

By JONATHAN EDWARDS
A 23-year-old man who killed his former friend in a gunfight walked out of court a free man Thursday after Norfolk prosecutors determined he fired in self-defense and dropped their murder case against him.

Shakir Holley had been charged with second-degree murder and gun crimes after gunning down Isaiah D. Bond around 12:30 a.m. on July 9 in the 6200 block of Alexander Street near the Five Points intersection.

But prosecutor Phil Evans on Thursday told District Judge Robert Rigney that the evidence showed Bond tried to rob Holley at gunpoint and Bond’s gun went off. During a struggle, Holley was able to knock Bond’s gun away from him. Bond walked away, got another gun and came back with two other people to finish off Holley.

Before he could, Holley got Bond’s first gun and the two exchanged gunfire, Evans said.

Holley’s lawyer, David Moyer, said his client was shot five times during the botched robbery — a couple times in the abdomen and in the arms and legs.

Holley fled to a nearby apartment and banged on the door until the tenant answered and let him in, homicide detective Matthew Nordan said in a sworn affidavit to search Holley’s phone. The witness said Holley said, “Shorty tried to kill him.”

Two pair, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. Not a bad hand, but bring on the bluff to take the pot.

For, in principle, there is no difference between a law prohibiting the wearing of concealed arms, and a law forbidding the wearing such as are exposed; and if the former be unconstitutional, the latter must be so likewise. But it should not be forgotten, that it is not only a part of the right that is secured by the constitution; it is the right entire and complete, as it existed at the adoption of the constitution; and if any portion of that right be impaired, immaterial how small the part may be, and immaterial the order of time at which it be done, it is equally forbidden by the constitution. Norman;
I stopped getting the daily awhile ago, so I just go to my favorites where I have it and click it on.

Who knows, the 2 pair may turn into a four of a kind. Sepsis may set in. But everyone knows that the two lads were good boys, they had just stopped by to invite their playmate to go to choir practice with them. The candle they lit just got out of hand.

The FN is nowhere near as scary as the black rifles. Couldn’t see a flip up thingie in the back and no chainsaw bayonet attachment. And no fruit shaped clip.

Holley Moley, If Bond only got wounded, I wonder if he would have been able to post Bond for his court appearance.

Read the comments from the individual posting as “Bruce Perkins”… you can see his slant on the subject.

That Perkins character is a neophyte at best, a bloody idiot at worst. He continually comments “shoot them in the leg” without understanding, or ignoring how close to impossible that is given the circumstances. Though Perkins professes to be a “gun guy,” I get the impression he’s really an anti-gun type trying to pick a fight and make gun owners look like bloodthirsty idiots. As I’ve been trained, anyone who violently breaks down my door not there to make me breakfast in bed or wish me a happy birthday. If they charge me that removes any doubt and I’ll shoot for the largest target, center mass. Though I have no wish to harm anyone, I would make no apology for defending myself and my family. If someone doesn’t like that, too fucking bad.

David

I have found that generally those who advocate “shoot them in the leg” can’t hit one at close range on even a very slow moving target. Under pressure in a fight? Yeah, right.

Anyone trained to shoot at another human is trained to shoot center of mass, period. In a stressful emergency situation, trained shooters do what their training dictates.

When I trained with the model 15 revolver, I had to sign a form listing the rules of engagement. I remember one line that said the use of warning shots was based upon the policy of the Air Command; the next line said the Tactical Air Command does not authorize warning shots. That cleared that up; center mass or nothing.

Love the SCAR! It is also the more accurate Flat Dark Earth. Only downside, it is loud, I know it is a .308 and they are loud, but the SCAR is LOUD!!! That said, still love SCARs.
