IVAW member declares she’s not socialist
I don’t link to Army Sergeant often, or at all really, but she’s declared over the weekend that she’s not a subversive socialist bent on over throwing our system of government. Odd that a member of an organization supposedly made up of patriotic former servicemembers would have to make such a statement, isn’t it?
I love America. I love my brothers-in-arms, even if it is in a dysfunctional way. I love the Constitution, and the founding fathers. I have a slightly unhealthy obsession with Alexander Hamilton. I believe in a system of democracy. I believe in our freedoms. I may think some things in our country aren’t working perfectly, but I do not believe in changing them with any particular ‘ism’ of the moment. If you have an agenda? I’m against it. If you are attempting to use what I believe in for your own purposes? Feel free to consider me your implacable enemy. I am not your soldier. I swore an oath, and I meant it.
This is not a post of support for Army Sergeant, it’s a condemnation of the realities of Iraq Veterans Against the War. It is a complete lie, right from the name of the organization – it’s not an association of Iraq veterans. Even one of the founders of the organization never got closer to Iraq than a safe and warm office in Turkey monitoring overflights of the No-Fly Zone – he left the Air Force the month before the war in Iraq began.
The organization exists to give, what Medea Benjamin called “street creds”. It’s organized so that an elite, photogenic few live a decadent life of drugs and sex, while others who are in need of the organization’s funds and connections are forgotten and left to fend for themselves. I could cite specific examples, but I’ve promised some people that I wouldn’t tell their stories of instances that the group’s leadership neglected them – preferring to keep them supplied with illegal drugs and alcohol than getting them the help they need.
I can also cite specific examples of their VVAW and VFP mentors abandoning some members. One member of IVAW told me how Bill Perry was specifically responsible for his VA claim being denied.
Some of you might remember the post I did about Darnell Stephen Summers, another mentor of IVAW in Germany, and how he belonged to to the radical VVAW-AI (the AI meaning anti-imperialist) which was actually the socialist/communist membership of the VVAW who left and formed their own, more extreme organization. It seems that IVAW may be heading down the same road – except looking at the recent membership, I suspect that the more moderate IVAW members will be leaving this time because they’re outnumbered by the far-Left extremist whackos.
There is no place for people who merely oppose the war in IVAW, there’s no place for real Iraq veterans in IVAW. They’re more concerned about providing economic opportunities for people like TJ Buonomo and Matthis Chiroux who are worthless turds and couldn’t find productive employment anywhere else.

Good post. Thanks for the information.
Maybe AS should hook up with Vote Vets, who oppose the Iraq War and only flirt with the charlatans of IVAW. You dance with the devil, the devil don’t change, the devil changes you.
Given that John Grant and Thompson Bradley are intimately involved in standing up, mentoring and advising IVAW, it’s not surprising.
Grant is always railing about American militarism and imperialism when he’s not off on a tear about capitalism. All three are things that the Communist Party USA cites as wrong with America. So his lies that he’s not a communist are just that, lies.
Also, Grant claims to be VVAW. He told me he’s proud of Winter Soldier because it was “a good thing.” I suspect and have some evidence that he’s likely the VVAW-AI type.
No doubt that Thompson Bradley is a communist. His collegues at Swarthmore describe him as a Marxist. He describes himself as a Marxist. Which is funny because he’s living the good life while the Proletariat struggles. Or is all for show, for laughs and giggles?
A/S,
Having made a number of big mistakes in my life, I know what they look like. IVAW is a mistake. Stay in the Army, get out of IVAW. Cut all ties completely as they are toxic to your future well being.
I’m not going to give any reasons or discuss my advice above. It’s truely a take it or leave it offer.
But I will tell you this, someday when I’m called to account for things I’ve done, I won’t go to hell for giving you some advice I knew wasn’t in your best interest.
“VVAW-AI”, the AI means anti-imperialist and they are commies. I love how the reds always screech against imperialism, by my thumbnail definition, imperialism is when foreign devils come to your land and attempt to dictate a way of life to you for your own good, give you a new religion (in the case of communism, it’s atheism) & take resources as well.
M’kay, our favorite room temperature red & a favorite ‘mongst the “Rage Against My Allowance” kolledge moonbat crowd, Dou’Che Guevara went to Bolivia to ferment revolution… Make a long story short, he said if the Bolivian Indians wouldn’t join “The Peoples Uprising”, then terrorism would be used to make them comply. Sounds a tad IMPERIALIST to me, don’t you think??
Army Sergeant, one of the steering committee members of IVAW was a feller named Stan Goff, do your own research, he’s a Socialist.
VVAW-AI is a Revolutionary Communist Party splinter. RCP members managed to hijack VVAW and at some later date, there was a lawsuit and VVAW was “taken back” and the RCP continuted as the much smaller VVAW-AI.
RCP is an end of society communist cult that worships Bob Avakian. Not In Our Name and one of the various “Bush Commissions” and World Can’t Wait are all RCP fronts.
The WCW attire is uberMaoist if you have an understand of their history. That orange band around the arm is just like the red arm bands Mao’s Red Guard wore.
BTW, here’s my favorite Stan Goff quote, “I’m as red as a baboon’s ass.”
Also another RCP’er, Tony Romo (VVAW and IVAW mentor) has/had a dog named “Che”.
“give you a new religion (in the case of communism, it’s atheism) & take resources as well.”
I would hardly call worship of the State, Atheism.
And of by the way, there’s that Prof out of Bowie, Virginia Rodino who was on the IVAW steering committee. On Dissodent Voice said she was looking forward to the defeat of the American war machine at the hands of the Iraqi resistance.
I would find it hard to associate myself, let alone spend hours working for people who so casually call for the deaths of fellow troops. Not just one of the group’s leaders, but many.
Here’s a video I took at a recent anti-war demonstration in Hollywood, Ca.

The guy speaking in this video is IVAW member Mike Prysner, and he most certainly is a socialist. Just moments before I started filming this, he praised the insurgents of Iraq as “true hereos” and called the American troops the “real terrorists”

Here IVAW member, Mike Prysner’s entire speech:
“I would hardly call worship of the State, Atheism.”
Hokay, ya got me on that one, point taken!
Ringo,
Damn right he’s a communist. He ran for Congress on the Party for Socialism and Liberation’s ticket last election. Somewhere I have a photo of him in a Che shirt and a Class A jacket.
There’s also a photo of him in ACUs getting arrested at the Capitol. I put that next to a photo of Lee Harvey Oswald and the resemblence is frightening how much the look alike, down to the body language.
When will you write about me? Suggestions:
IVAW member declares he’s not a capitalist pig.
IVAW member declares he’s a Communist.
