Neighbors Support Homeowner’s Actions In Modesto Motorhome Shooting

By Ryan Hill
MODESTO (CBS13) — Residents on Gordon Avenue in Modesto had a startling start to their morning Thursday.

“I was up at around five in the morning and all I heard was pop, pop, pop, it sounded like three shots,” Chris Cataline said.

One man found a burglar inside his motorhome that’s parked just feet from his front door.

“I think if you’re going to break into somebody’s property and charge that person, as a homeowner I’m certainly going to defend myself and defend my family,” Joe Cataline said.

Modesto Police said that’s exactly what he did, opening fire after the suspect, Samuel White Junior, came toward him in a threatening way.

Man Shot With His Own Gun in North St. Louis After Chasing Down Thief

Posted By Doyle Murphy
A man who chased down a suspected thief was shot with his own gun on Thursday in north city, police say.

Officers were patrolling at about 4:15 p.m. when they heard gunfire and headed for the 1100 block of Union Boulevard, on the border of the Visitation Park and Academy neighborhoods. They arrived in time to find two men fighting.

Police say a 25-year-old had confronted a 34-year-old, whom he suspected was stealing from a vehicle. The younger man was armed and fired a warning shot after chasing down the suspected crook, cops say. The two then fought over the gun, and it went off, hitting the 25-year-old in the ankle, according to police.

By: Laken Bowles
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man fired shots at two would-be robbers after they confronted him as he was sitting in his SUV.

The call came in before 6 a.m. Thursday at an apartment complex on Selena Drive, located not far from Thompson Lane in South Nashville.

According to police, the man was sitting in his Nissan Rogue as it was warming up when two men got in the car. One of them hit him in the head before they ran off in different directions.

Police say one of the suspects fired a shot at the victim as he was running away. The car owner, who was also armed, shot back at him. No one was hit.

Police say the victim has a proper gun permit.

Three inconvenienced and two in the wind, Delta Whiskies and Whskettes, making today a Full House. The wonky firearm up top caught my eye more as a collector’s item than a carry piece, and the write up bears that out. So, some else’s collection.

Mr. Orwell would be appalled at the current subjugated state of the British workingman.

I have fired one of those COP 357s, many years ago. They are a handful with full-power loads. I believe they were used in a TV movie where Napoleon Solo, “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” was called back from retirement. It was the “Uncle” issue gun.

It was also used in “Blade Runner,” IIRC.

A full house of any sort is still a good score. And it’s always good to have some examples of how it is NOT done.

Ya think you could salt someone away with that pepperbox? A Mississippi Riverboat Gambler perhaps? Notice you were very quick to distance yourself from that one. Smart move.

Wonder if Mr. Orwell’s tomes are still required reading in school these days? They were for us, IIRC in either 6th or 7th grade, NLT.

I have a COP Derringer identical to the Picture. 38 Special or 357 mag Is more than enough at the distances it was made for. it was originally designed as a police back-up weapon in the days of the revolver in those calibers BTW COP Stands for Compact Offduty Police

Gun Jesus Ian just attempted a backup gun match with a COP whilst dressed as a high school narc from 1984. I love Gun Jesus, I heard he can turn a Hi-Point into an H&K.
