Two U.S. F-15E fighter jets launched airstrikes Wednesday to destroy ammunition that was left behind when American forces abandoned a cement factory south of Kobani, Syria.
The factory had served as a coordination center for the U.S.-led coalition and Kurdish forces in the fight against the Islamic State group. – article

Repeating the same question:
What is the United Nations and NATO doing about this situation?
Am tired of the United States being the World’s Policeman.
Ditto, IMHO it’s about time for those other Countries to wipe their own asses.
Gots to agree and have posted same words before ninja & API. Trying to be the Worlds’ popo for the last 75 years is one of the many reasons that we, as a nation, are 20 trillion $ in debt. I am glad that they sent some aerial artillery platforms in the blow up some of the stuff we left. I’d have made the whole AO a smoking crater. I know a lot has changed since I got out, but I do remember that our bug out plan included blowing/torching/booby trapping anything and everything we might have to leave behind.
Thanks Slow Joe for the personal observation input. Skippy, any short cut linkys to the videos you speak of?
Main causes of the fall of the Roman Empire: uncontrolled immigration, what we call deficit spending, endless wars.
Sound familiar?
They being us have left a ton of hardware
Behind the videos are all over the web
Do we not know how to clean up after ourselves
When making a hasty retreat????
I was in the 2013 planned transfer of COP Bowri Tana, on the Pakistani border, to the Afghan police.
We still left a ton of hardware behind. The same with FOB Salerno.
The very same with FOBs Normandy and Taji back in Iraq.
We always, ALWAYS, leave a ton of shit behind.
The diffs whether it makes the news cycle or not depends on who seats in the White House.
Get back to me when they start pushing Hueys
off the fantail.
Does seem like SOP anymore. The reasoning I’ve heard is that it’s more expensive to bring it back than to just leave / destroy it. If that’s actually the case, I’m fine with it, as long as it’s not left usable to our enemies…
Seems to be an American tradition, as this Bill Mauldin cartoon illustrates.

There’s now concrete evidence that we destroyed the cement factory since we can’t talk turkey with Turkey and cement relations with the Turks over the Kurds which makes my blood Kurdle. OKAY I’ll stop.
