TAH (VG) SITREP

The work behind the curtain goes on. Maintaining the high standards for a valor thief to be featured here is a difficult and time consuming task. It has to be to maintain our credibility and stay within legal standards. The regular Admins who are the frequent posters here have the duty to find items that will interest you, our readers, hopefully holding your attention between the real job of outing posers. This morning Management gave us an update, and I thought y’all would appreciate a peek behind the curtain. Mgmt agreed.

All;

Just wanted to let you all know the status of Stolen Valor cases.

Still filing out a boatload of FOIAs. Getting a lot of requests for military service verification. The latter is non-stolen valor and more family curiosity/genealogy research which is also a part of our business model.

Been getting a bunch of index cards for individual FOIA filings saying they are behind at NPRC. When these arrive, usually they are followed by the FOIA results within 7-10 days.

We continue to evaluate each case on its merits. It is just a nuance/trend that there have not been publishable cases recently.

Many cases question someone’s “veteran” status when they’ve served for several weeks or one month, but depending on the criteria some organizations and individuals consider these people veterans. It is hard to determine if it was a medical discharge by the FOIA results. Hence, they are not publishable cases in our view.

Many case submissions continue to not have any evidence, citing word of mouth but are not willing to provide sworn statements as to what they heard. We do not pursue these as well based on lack of evidence that the person made the claims. These continue to be about 80-85% of the case submissions so there is quite a bit of back and forth in emails educating the informant.

Anyway, I wanted to assure you that the work continues but based on circumstances there have not been publishable cases recently. Perhaps that is a good thing.

Veteran’s Day is not far off so there is a lot of activity then.

Thanks Snake. Here’s the part of the team’s real work that largely goes unseen, until a valor thief meets the strict requirements and is awarded a post here. Dave, Steve, Snake, and all the others are keeping with Jonn’s high standards, BZ!

It’s always good to set high standards. Especially for cases like this.

BlueCord Dad

Thank you for all you do gentlemen & lady. Have a great day!

What do they say, the old adage about trying to defend against terrorists and criminals and whatnot…

“You have to be right 100% of the time and they only have to be right once.”

I’d rather that TAH err on the right 100% of the time (as much as humanly possible, I think that even Jonn had to pull a thread once or twice in my many years here and may have had to issue an apology but I’d say that was more than rare) than have a poser TAH post about be more on the side of legit and TAH having to do a Mea Culpa.

Thunderstixx

The comments are still about the most entertaining thing on the interwebz on any given day !!!
Keep up the fire !!!

Veritas Omnia Vincit

Thanks for the insight, these cases are always interesting to me as I don’t understand why so many have lives so empty they must fill them with the lies of things they didn’t do, often at the expense of their fellow veterans.

I’ll try to pick up some slack and get you a few essays…perhaps more topical in nature for the moment while I consider what rabbit hole to head down into next…

A couple commenters said I should continue with the amendments as there are far more than ten…and perhaps that’s a good path.

Fyrfighter

I’d like to see that VoV, I’d be interested on your take on all of them, and a few more than the others…I’m sure it’d be enlightening. Just my 2cp..

OWB

Yes, a very good path. Thanks for even considering it – and much gratitude should you opt to continue the series.

Sparks

I appreciate what you folks are doing. I appreciate the time given to do the job correctly. Thank you all very much.

Wilted Willy

I really appreciate all that you folks do here! You have literally given me hope that with your help my pos brother will someday be in prison where he belongs! I love each and every one of you and I truly mean this!!!
Thank you!

Tanks for the update, Matey. Not that it was needed for me, but for some it may be the music that calms the savage breast. It is always best to build an ironclad case before dropping the hammer. The entire Chain of MP/VG has the heartfelt Thanks from all the Vets that served Honorably for the work they do.

Most of us miscreanted, dickweeded, Warriors, POGs, REMFs, Ne’er do Wells, and Feather Merchants will loyally be standing by awaiting the next low life, asinine, lying, POSer to show up. Those that dropped out of the net, for whatever reason, well, it’s their loss. The more phonies that are busted, the less there will be to bust…for awhile anyway. The word has gotten around, and some of the ones that have been on the edge of being exposed dialed their BS back and are trying to fly under the radar. You are correct, come Vet’s Day, they’ll come crawling out of the woodwork. We’ll wait right here.

In the meanwhile, y’all keep it up. No matter your beliefs in a Supreme Being, you are doing God’s Work. As long as this site is up and I have innerwebz and the ability to transfer keyboard ribbon ink to screen, I will be here, reading and commenting on all the post, checking out the added linkies, enjoying commaradary of the gang, and in general being the FIRST to make a nuisance of myself. GO ARMY BEAT NAVY!!!!!!!!

TAH is personal vindication for me. For decades
I had to put up with being seen as a fool for
volunteering during the draft. Decades later they
want to sidle up to me, thank me for my service
and play the “me to” card as if they are my
brother.
There was no pushback of phonies for a long time.
TAH fills that void.
Thank you.

Graybeard

One of the things that keeps me coming back is the dedication to high standards evident in the TAH HQ Corps.

Thanks to all the HQ staff for a job well done.

Curious about Military Phonies. Is their an affiliation? Tnx for update.

sbalm

This Ain’t Hell, Military Phony and Valor Guardians are all one and the same.

You can think of it as This Ain’t Hell and Military Phony are legacy sites that have been brought together under one umbrella – Valor Guardians.

They are distinct so there was value in keeping them that way. MP stricktly does cases and TAH’s strength is the community and commentary in addition to the diversity in articles that are veteran and SV related.

ValorGuardians as a brand allows for legal protections and to branch out into historical/military/genealogy research which there is a huge demand for. We discovered that not everyone wants or needs a public exposure, nor do they have evidence to do so, so we do this work behind the scenes for family members or other clients.

Hope this helps.

Sj

Great answer. It was/is none of my business but i was curious since it seemed there were ties. Afain, thanks.

What is up with the guy in that picture? He looks like a damn soup sandwich…..

Ex-PH2

That is the original Soup Sandich. Enough said. He passed a while ago.

The Al

Ah, good old Nick Androsky. Dude showed up at Benning for his stepfather’s graduation from Basic…. . Yes, you read that right. The first part of that particular shitshow is here: https://valorguardians.com/blog/?p=24149

pookysgirl (WC wife)

I certainly recognized the photo for the top post! Soup Sandwich was a legend… in his own mind.

I hope that guy in the above pic with the salad rack is wearing an orthotic device inside his left shoe to keep him balanced.
P.S. Great job Admin.

11B-Mailclerk

I think one may infer he is more than a little unbalanced.

Hack Stone

Past tense. Old Soup passed from a drug overdose the River Styx a few years back. In fact, his brother requested that his posts be removed from TAH. That request was not honored.

rgr769

Kudos to you all for the rigorous work that you Admins do in vetting these cases. I suspect your careful vetting has precluded more than one bogus lawsuit. TAH is the only site I read every day. Even the back and forth with the TDS infected proglodytes/trolls is entertaining.

Roh-Dog

A heartfelt thank you for all y’all do!

I’m sorry it’s been a minute since I’ve donated, soon!

Fjardeson

Thanks to y’all, TAH admins. Your site is a daily pleasure!

Old NFO

Thanks to all for the good work! It is appreciated by us old fogies out here.

FuzeVT

Keep it straight down the middle, folks. You do a great job, and I think we all know (or probably should) that it takes a great deal of effort to do so. The peak behind the curtain is still valuable to see HOW much work goes into giving everyone a fair shake (even dirt bags) and keep yourself out of court!

What’s the hang time to get a replacement DD-214. Hack Stone went on the website, completed the form and and faxed it off back in May or June, and still nothing in the mailbox (with a door on it). They said it would be less than 90 days, and Hack waits patiently by the mailbox.

Ex-PH2

I got copies of both in two weeks. Send it to them by postal mail, Hack Stone. Include a note that it’s urgent and make sure you include the printable form with your request.

Hack Stone

Thanks.

Just An Old Dog

One thing I would ask the Admins to do is bring back the SEARCH feature. It made it so much easier to look up a past scumbag than trying to page through the archives.

OWB

Just noticed that there is now a search box on screen right near the top of the page. No idea how long it’s been there. Been missing it as well.

OWB

Sure hope that the decreasing case load is because national attention to stolen valor has increased. Maybe what we/y’all have been doing really IS effective.

Another indicator that the tolerance for lying about military service is waning is that I am hearing more discussion of it within the VFW. Have heard it being discussed locally as well as from national officers. That is an important and most welcome change.

Inbred Redneck

Since I only drop in here once a week or so, let me add my thanks for all that you guys do (that includes Ex-PH2, as you’re one of the guys in the best sense of the term) and may this site stick around as long as it’s needed.

Ex-PH2

We will keep it going, no matter what.

There is enough bullying coming out of Iran to keep the newsies busy, so that’s one of my subjects to continue to explore.

Honor and Courage

I was a contractor in the Nursing Home Care Areas, I had to work on many jobs that needed Immediate Deficiency’s that had to be remedied, The short of this is I hired as many as 90 Temporary workers to complete Projects in various Cities all over the US. I was amazed at the number that claimed Vietnam Veterans status! As a Veteran of 2 tour’s I apologize for not calling them out.

Keep up the Good job you are doing, and you can hit me up for Rent Money as needed! Respectfully

Great work, and always ready to help with the rent!
