Shooter in fatal home invasion may have acted in self-defense, Lakeland cops say

By Cristóbal Reyes
Detectives investigating a fatal shooting in Lakeland believe the person killed was an intruder who was shot in self defense, the city’s police department said in a statement Friday.

Officers responded to a house on Jewel Avenue near West Memorial Boulevard Thursday afternoon following reports of gunshots after a home invasion. Both suspects — Anastasia Crumb-Guy and Tysheana Marshall — were wounded, and were taken to Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center, where Crumb-Guy was later pronounced dead.

Authorities said Crumb-Guy and Marshall broke into the house and got into a fight with the residents. Crumb-Guy had grabbed a knife and tried to block the path of one of the residents who tried to leave, police spokeswoman Robin Tillett said.

SAPD officer fired his weapon at driver accused of following him
The officer said that he immediately fired his duty weapon “in fear of his life.”

SAN ANTONIO — One man is behind bars after police say he followed an off-duty SAPD officer and pulled a gun on him.

According to a preliminary report from the San Antonio Police Department, Officer Alonzio Hardin requested a supervisor over the radio after leaving an off-duty job. Hardin told his supervisor that a man, Anthony Colvin, 34, was following him.

He also mentioned that Colvin got in front of Officer Hardin’s car and kept slamming on his brake.

Officer Hardin said he tried to keep his distance while he called 911 on his phone and pulled into a parking lot in the 11500 block of New Sulphur Springs in the hopes that Colvin would drive past him.

However, several minutes later, Colvin turned around and drove up to Officer Hardin who got out of his car to find cover since he was uncertain of Colvin’s intentions.

Officer Hardin said that Colvin began yelling racial slurs and pointed a black handgun at him, per the preliminary report.

Man with knife inside Coshocton McDonald’s charged

COSHOCTON COUNTY, Ohio (WCMH) — A man with a knife stopped at a Coshocton County McDonald’s by a patron with a gun has been charged, Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

Nicholas L. Hayes, 22, has been charged with attempted aggravated robbery, a second-degree felony. Additional charges may be filed after further review by the Coshocton County Prosecutor’s Office.

The sheriff’s office also named the man they said stopped Hayes. He has been identified as James H. Bartlett, 70, from Kentucky.

According to a Facebook post on the Coshocton County Sheriff’s page, the sheriff’s office received a call at approximately 11:15 a.m. Saturday about a man with a knife at a local McDonald’s.

Sheriff’s determined when they arrived that Hayes was making threats while inside the restaurant.

Bartlett confronted Hayes in an attempt to protect the restaurant’s customers and employees. Bartlett, who has a concealed carry permit, drew his weapon and began to order Hayes to drop the knife, the sheriff’s office said.

Today’s score, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes, stands at one who has forced her last door, three inconvenienced, and none in the wind. That we know of, anyway.

The Brady Bill’s only effect will be to desensitize the public to regulation of weapons in preparation for their ultimate confiscation. — Charles Krauthammer, The Washington Post, April 5, 1996

“Anastasia Crumb-Guy and Tysheana Marshall”

Paging Mr. Claw.

Sigh…sigh…and siiigghh!

The FIRST sigh for the work out the Whiz Wheel is going to get.

The 2nd for the coveting of the repop hawgleg. This Colt’s design was used by Samuel Griswold to manufacture revolvers for the Confederacy. He switched from making cotton gins to pistols in one of his plants. 3600 were produced @ 50 – $60 each. If you could find an original today…they are rather spendy. The brass frames were made in large part from the church bells around the area. The entire town of Griswoldville was destroyed during ‘Cump Sherman’s stroll to the beach. Google it, makes for some interesting linkys.

And finally, siiigghh and Honey Hush/child please. That is one more seriously fine looking, almost too skinny little ginger haired Miss Thang you got there Mister. I may even outbid Ol’ Ten Bears and keep her for myself.

Crumby way for a Guy to die but we all have to go sometimes, some sooner, some later or not at all if you are an immortal. Is that a Surefire flashlight the young lady is holding that looks like the model I used to carry on my duty belt.?????
