HMS Duncan arrives in the Gulf

In the continuing story of Iran vs. The World, a second British Navy warship has arrived in the Persian Gulf to accompany British shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. And of course, Iran protests this as a violation of some sort, but hasn’t yet sent out any of their speedboats to intimidate the Royal Navy’s sailors.

A second warship has arrived in the Strait of Hormuz to protect British ships in the strategic waterway, as the Foreign Secretary urged Iran to “come out of the dark” and release a British-flagged tanker it detained there two weeks ago.

The Ministry of Defence said that Royal Navy vessel HMS Duncan arrived over the weekend and will work with frigate HMS Montrose in accompanying merchant vessels to “secure this essential route.”

Iran has previously slammed the move as “provocative”, criticising a wider British proposal to create a European-led naval mission to escort tankers in the Gulf.  – article

From the article: Speaking to Sky News, Raab said that if Iran wants to “come out of the dark and be accepted as a responsible member of the international community” it must follow international rules.

“You cannot go about detaining unlawfully foreign vessels,” he said.

Raab’s comments come after a second Royal Navy warship arrived in the Gulf to protect British ships.

The HMS Duncan destroyer joined the frigate HMS Montrose on July 28 to escort vessels sailing under the British flag through the Strait of Hormuz, a key shipping line that connects the Gulf and the Arabian Sea.

“Merchant ships must be free to travel lawfully and trade safely, anywhere in the world,” Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said. “While we continue to push for a diplomatic resolution that will make this possible again without military accompaniment, the Royal Navy will continue to provide a safeguard for U.K. vessels until this is the reality.” – article

Currently, there are two Iranian cargo ships that have been hanging loose at Brazil’s ports, waiting to get grain back to Iran.    https://en.radiofarda.com/a/a-brazilian-court-has-ordered-petrobras-to-refule-iranian-ships-/30075089.html

They are loaded with corn (maize) and have had to be refueled at the order of the Brazilian court system.

From the article:  The Brazilian state-owned oil company has been refusing to refuel the Iranian vessels for several weeks due to the implications of U.S. sanctions that could expose it to penalties.

The two vessels, named Bavand and Termeh, were carrying 110,000 tons of maize to Iran. Iran is a major buyer of Brazilian corn, with $1.09 billion exported to Iran out of the $3.91 billion exported in total. – article

However, once they were refueled, they decided to head home with their cargo, without  let or hindrance from either the USA or Brazil.  https://www.thenational.ae/world/the-americas/iran-ships-stranded-in-brazil-because-of-sanctions-fears-depart-officials-say-1.891598

From the article:  The port administrator said the ship Termeh left at about noon, headed to another Brazilian port where it would be loaded with corn. The Bavand, which already has its cargo, was set to leave for Iran on Saturday night. The journey home takes about 30 days, the administrator said. – article

Chess? Nope, poker. Britain has raised and may choose to call.  The USA is holding, right now. Iran? Well, we’ll see who blinks.

FUCK Iran, let them harvest what they have sown and I wonder if they’ll ever have the will to overthrow the crazyass mullahs?

^Word^ That much corn/maize will make a lot of suppers. They start getting hungry, that may tip the scale. Wonder how many Iranians remember the standard of living they had during the Shah? As big of an a$$hole he may have been, IIRC, the average person seemed to live a little better. idk? Maybe they’d just as soon starve like the Norks are doing than to “kow tow” to the Great Satan?

The Brazilians can sell the corn elsewhere or can eat it. Can Iran eat the oil it can’t ship out?

I’m sure that the currently low prices for crude oil aren’t doing them, the Ivans or the Venezuelans any favors right bow, but IDGAF about them, especially the Iranians!
